What is involved in getting to the tip of the boom on a building crane? I've found one where the mast and ballast are in the middle of a black death construction site, but the boom gets periodically left over a wide open street. There is also a platform with railings on the tip of the boom. Is there some kind of walkway to the tip that I just can't see? Or just a gnarly climb/crawl? I've envisioned hooking a pulley onto the cable and just shimmying out there, but I've never been on top of one of these things and don't know how feasible this idea really is. Last week an experienced skydiver with several thousand jumps and 20+ years was PCA'd off the Potato. He had a tailgate hangup. He grab his toggles and pumped the shit out of them and got a canopy ~75 feet off the water. Would anyone with 7 skydives be prepared to deal with this? It was just a PCA off the Potato. (and if anyone wants to know it was a small black band larksheaded to the tailgate and triple wrapped...and no that's not my method) Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary

Look under the Homeland Security Administration for carry-ons. There is a whole page on rigs. My experience has been screeners don't want to mess with your rig...they just want to swab it to test for explosives. One of the screeners at TWF used to be a smokejumper... I'm pretty sure no one is fliking 17 story B's in Orange County...but if someone is or knows someone that is please get in touch with me!!! If I could find nightime access, I wouldn't think about fliking it in the day. But it's secure at night, only access is being rung in by a guard. And I can't find a non-alarmed stairway or anywhere else to stash myself in. Only way I can figure out is to go during the day, gear up in the slow elevator, go to putting green and tie off a SL setup and flik. It's probably a one time gig I know, so if anyone with lots of experience wants to come burn it down with me let me know. I got a nice crane as well, but I'm apparently lacking the sack to open up these sub 200' objects on my own at the moment. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary

I can't really find a place to chill out, and there is a lock on the access door to the putting green that could potentially be locked after hours, and not the kind of lock that lets you out and not in. I'm fairly positive that no one is fliking shit in this area, and if they are I need to meet them. I can see a cool 190ish crane from the exit point as well that I've been scoping for weeks and weeks... Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary

I found a smoking patio/putting green with a nice corner to jump from and a nice solid railing to hook up a carry off static line. There is 0 security during the day, but at night only access I can find is to be rung in by security. So..... Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
