No need for radios, you can just talk to the ground crew from the exit point. Fun stuff. I heard a funny story about that place. Some people were there for a New Years Eve jump. They planned to go right after midnight. About 5 minutes before 12, people in the surrounding neighborhood started firing off guns...and I guess everyone aimed for the 170 foot rock. These guys didn't have their static lines set up yet, so they had to crawl back up the wall way from the exit point and hide out, hearing bullets zinging around and impacting around them from time to time until about 20 minutes past midnight. Why don't you keep the helmet inside the stash bag until you are ready to gear up? There's a certain less-than-legal span that I've not so recently jumped where myself and the other people who I jumped it with all agreed that while we were doing our best to be good stealthy BASE jumpers at this site, there is a time when you are exposed to car traffic just as we're about to jump and we thought wearing helmets would raise suspicion that we were BASE jumpers using this span. But you can make the argument that we do look like potential suicidal people when we're on the other side of the rail prior to jumping without helmets. With helmets we look like BASE jumpers, without out them we are suicidal. What can I say you can't win either way. But we tried to use this site responsibly and to my knowledge it's not a hot site. While I know he will deny it, for arguments sake it's pretty much Jaap's site so he can tell you more about it if he wishes. It's a fun jump. Lots of people - maybe even the majority - won't narc you out for BASE jumping. Pretty much everyone with a cell phone is going to call the authorities if they believe they just witnessed a suicide. And if you weren't wearing a helmet, you'd be dead. Period. I know several people who have suyrvived closed head wounds. Somw are fine. Some get headaches with loud noises or bright light. I know a dude who did a back flip at his senior prom like 7 years ago but screwed up and hit his head. After he woke up from his coma, he couldn't talk for 3 weeks. I've hunted around for a while to find digital camoflauge patterns. The Army ACU pattern is easy to find. Paragear should have it. I know Apex BASE carries it as well. I have an Apex DP constructed from it. The Canadian Woodland MARPAT can be found also...but it was too green to be really useful in a desert environment...IMO...might work for your needs though. I was unable to find any USMC MARPAT cordura...it was my first choice...if anyone has a source, please PM me. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary

Since this is a paragliding thread... What's the deal with para-motors, power paragliders, whatever they are called. Do you have to be a paragliding pilot first? Where do you learn how to fly those things? I've read that it takes between 5 and 20 feet for takeoff...is this true? If so that's sick, I can launch one of those things in front of my house. Did you stop using the pull-up cord by the tailpocket and replace it with a clamp? I'm down to 8 clamps, two pullup cords, 4 bungee's. I hope it works that well, but it's doubtful. I can't even find a mention of Olive Drab ZP. The closest thing i've found is a translucent ZP used on the 3rd generation T-10 canopies.
