  1. You don't need to land it, just keep the plane from spinning while I get my butt out the DOOR. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary

  3. How much does adding a logo really cost you guys? Especially if its your own logo that will be put on multiple identical canopies? Mass production (not that canopies get massed produced) has to lower this cost. You should at least do it for the demo canopies you take to boogies, and demos that go to various larger DZ's where they will be seen by large numbers of individuals, often from around the world (Perris, Eloy, Deland, Empuriabrava etc.) Maybe the larger demos where they will be seen by newer jumpers who are in the market to purchase gear. Just think, every time they have a good canopy overhead, they will look up and see your logo...positively reinforcing your brand. Condition them to believe the A logo and a properly inflated/functioning main are one in the same. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  4. Matter is having a sale on their stock freefly pants...50% off. And if you get 100 euros worth of stuff, you get free shipping. http://www.matterclothing.com/news.htm Then find yourself a longer tshirt to tuck into those pants. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  5. Fluorescent colors with a big Aerodyne logo on the bottom skin. 1. Easy (easier) to see for traffic patterns and in various weather 2. Easy (easier) to find cut aways 3. Easy (easier) for reps and gear shops to tell which canopies are yours 4. The addition of a large logo establishes and/or reinforces Aerodyne brand recognition Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  6. OK- I used to not care about my licenses...figured I could get them whenever. Even took the test for my B, and filled out the paperwork...but I never sent it in. Recently my logbook and Pro Track were stolen...so I have lost all my records. Getting those licenses (B and C) is going to be a bigger hassle now...wish I'd just taken care of it. 7. Unless you plan on jumping with all big boys, you will need some drag...at least for a while. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  8. Thanks for the offer man. Eli Thompson is going to hook me up with a Gath hat. My freefly coach gave me an alti. I have a pair of freefly pants to hold me over for a while. The jumpsuit is the real pain...darn things are expensive and take forever to get...and then you hope they come right the first time. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  9. There has been a string of vehicle break-ins at my condos...it is really my bad for leaving my car out and unlocked. I was thinking of filing a police report so that if I happen to find my stuff at a pawn shop I have some recourse. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  10. I'm going to check all the pawn shops tomorrow...and browse ebay the next couple of weeks as well. I'm thinking a pawn shop might actually try to sell the helmet and altimeter... Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  11. Left my car in front of my house unlocked planning to go to dinner. Never went. Someone grabbed my backpack out of my car overnight. Helmet, Protrack, Alti2, Bomber Flitesuit, logbook, goggles, gloves, B license exam I never sent in, a ready to go closing loop and a big assed bag of packing rubberbands. I now found a reason for getting your licenses taken care of as early as possible...if you lose your shit before you get them, it's going to be a pain in the ass. I almost feel ashamed of myself for the misfortunes I have been wishing upon whatever tweeker or junkie stole my stuff. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  12. Other than packing, I don't think skydiving has much to do with physical fitness. Being in shape, flexible etc will make you a better skydiver, but skydiving itself isn't going to do much for you (unless you land out far away every jump and jog back). 13. Damn...now there is a piece of advice, especially for those hot afternoons. Thanks Brian Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  14. I bought my Dad a tandem skydive and video for his 70th b-day last March. He tried to go last weekend, but the winds shut down the DZ in the afternoon. But yesterday was beautiful...no wind and signifigantly warmer at altitude. Pops said that scooting into the door was pretty scary and a total rush, but that once they were out and his arms were spread he LOVED it. He had a huge smile on his face for the entire freefall. And he totally dug the view under canopy. I only wish I had more skills and could have been on the actual jump with him...but maybe by his 75th. I want to thank Jim Wallace...he may be the small fish @ the Perris DZ operations wise, but he is truely a class act. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  15. I have a Gunner. It's quiet, comfortable, holds two audibles, and the chin strap sucks. Supposedly you can heat it in the oven and then mold it to your head...I never bothered with that step though. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  16. Two adults participating in an adult sport. They had talked out what to do in advance if shit hit the fan. What's the point in talking it out if you aren't going to follow it? If you don't like the arrangement, don't jump with that load/crew. For example, if you wanted your dead body left behind, no problem. But I would not start cutting gear off a corpse. So if NickNitro absolutely insisted that I cut gear off his corpse, I guess I won't be jumping these kinds of loads with him. Maybe this guy Mike is on probation or parole... Or wanted for a crime or back taxes or something... Could be lots of things unrelated to this jump that a run in with law enforcement would result in horrific consequences. I'm crossing my fingers for this Mike guy to have left a map or details for the family when he mailed the note to them...giving himself a chance to get as far away from the scene as possible in the meantime. 18. I know two people who have received gear on time from Apex in the last two months. I was told yesterday that Apex is @ 7 weeks for canopies and containers right now. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  19. I think that backflying would be more relevent to HU than belly as the same principles apply in regards to turning. The new SDU Sitfly DVD by Joao has some good demonstrations to this effect. To the original poster, Freeflying in not HU and HD...it is flying your body in ALL positions and transitions. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary

  23. When it is warmer out, I like to do 13,000 foot hop and pops. Shorts, tshirt and some killer views. You can do whatever you want to your canopy and have lots of room to save your ass. Otter Crew is fun as well. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary

  25. You are assuming that no one reads the SIMS or gets campfire talks that doesn't apply for a B or C...pretty steep assumption. You then go on to say how so many 50-200 jump wonders give advice or don't know about gear. These 50-200 jump wonders could have both their B and C licenses though...which you feels equates to safer, more knowledgable skydivers...I'm finding contradictions in your post. Lastly, the B and C exams don't have anything on them pertaining to gear function. We won't talk about how many C and D license holders I see land on their ass or their hands and knees every 2-4 jumps. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
