Since I'm the thread killer and everytime I reply to a post it dies this is probably the last post to this thread. So any way. 8yrs fire service,10yrs EMS, now a medical officer at the jail and looking at going into police work.
-
I've driven 3hrs to make a single jump. From Myrtle Beach SC to Raeford NC.
-
Kinda looks like what I did to my Spectre except it weas a bottom skin that ripped from the nose to tail on the second cell from the end.Still waitng to hear back from PD about it.Been 3months now.Last I heard they had the cell replaced and was test jumping it.

Just got mine from Pammi's sweatshop yesterday.I'll probably order a couple of more so in case this one breaks I won't have to go without again.
-
My new necklace just came in the mail today and I just wanted to say thank you to Pammi.I've felt kind of naked since my last one broke on me while jogging one day.Don't know how it happened but it did. Thanks again Pammi.

Base jumps? Yeah right. All you base jumpers have bigger cajones than I do.Much respect to you guys. Oh, BTW this is post 500.Do I qualify for my "D" now?

You would not beleive the work the artists did.Just the black and gary of it was almost enough to keep it without all the colors. The artist that did it has a wall full of awards from tatto conventions for pieces he entered. He wants to enter mine in the most unique category when it's finished.I can't wait till I get to go back and get the colors finished. All that's left is the canopy colors the plane being colored background and harness colored in.Bart and Homer are finished and the shading of the colors is amazing.
-
Well I did it.I went today and got my new tattoo.OR most of it anyway.Had about 4hrs of work done and still need another 2-3 to finish it.All that's left really is putting the rest of the colors on.And would'nt you know I can't get my camera or scanner to work to put it up on here.I have the drawing the artist did and was going to scan it in. It is Homer just opening his canopy.Got the idea from a pic in this month's Parachustist pg31 and bart already under canopy with the plance heading off into the clouds. It's a big piecs. It akes up the majority of my lower leg. When I can get pics I'll put them up for all to see.

OK I know there will be hell raised over this.BUt here goes any way. If you were transported by a county service then it is understandable that the bill is high like that.During budget sessions EMS is usually the first to get their budget cut long before anybody else gets it.Where I used to work at, our budget was cut every year and usually about 4 months before the start of the new fiscal year we were out of money. We have been told before that we would have to start reusing single use supplies. It had even been suggested to take the guaze we used and wash it to use it again.Or reuse endotracheal tubes after they had been pulled out of the pt at the hosp. The procurment supervisor we had was the tightest person I have ever seen with money ands would always buy the cheapest supplies possible. We had run down equipment and trucks were always breaking down.We had some trucks that were so bad that you had to wear your rain gear on the inside of the truck whenever it rained. We had two different rates that was charged. One was a BLS rate that was $350 plus supplies for a basic EMT to ride and then there was a ALS rate of $450 plus supplies for a Medic to ride. And there are a lot of places where EMT's and medics barely make above minimum wage for all the shit we have to go through. All the training, the long hours the thankless people we take care.I have been spit onand punched,I've had knives pulled on me and I've been shot at a few times and all I was trying was trying to help the person who called for help.I used to have to wear a bullet proof vest to work it was so bad.most of the people I know that work in EMS have to work 2 sometimes 3 jobs total just so they can provide for thier familes. Now if the bill is to much then write to congress to put a end to EMS and we can go back to the days of having a hearse show up and nobody on the hearse having any training at all. They can throw you in the back and if you die then your in the right vehicle to be taken to the funeral home instead of the hosp. I have seen both sides of the coin.I have worked in EMS for 10 years and in that time I have been a pt in the back of a ambulance a few times. I have even gotten billed from the service that I worked for after being transported to the hosp.So I know how high those bills can be.But I also know that the cost of life would be even higher if there was'nt a group of dedicated professionals out there doing there best to save lives. SO if you want to be pissed at someone for you bill being so high then blame the people that make medical supplies and charge so much for them that the charges have to be passed on to you.But don't blame the people that are there to take care of you when you need it.

The bigger the number the smaller the size of the needle.A 22 is really small. Now if they start talking about using a 14 or a 10 g run and run like hell. I know how bad the injections can be to a extent never had any in my back but I have had 3 into my knee.If they are talking steroid injections ask about Decadron. It is better than cortisone. It lasts longer, about 3 weeks and does'nt have the side effects that cortisone has. So no mood swings or anything like that, that's usually associated with cortisone or other steroids.

Eigth Level of Hell - the Malebolge -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Many and varied sinners suffer eternally in the multi-leveled Malebolge, an ampitheatre-shapped pit of despair Wholly of stone and of an iron colour: Those guilty of fraudulence and malice; the seducers and pimps, who are whipped by horned demons; the hypocrites, who struggle to walk in lead-lined cloaks; the barraters, who are ducked in boiling pitch by demons known as the Malebranche. The simonists, wedged into stone holes, and whose feet are licked by flames, kick and writhe desperately. The magicians, diviners, fortune tellers, and panderers are all here, as are the thieves. Some wallow in human excrement. Serpents writhe and wrap around men, sometimes fusing into each other. Bodies are torn apart. When you arrive, you will want to put your hands over your ears because of the lamentations of the sinners here, who are afflicted with scabs like leprosy, and lay sick on the ground, furiously scratching their skin off with their nails. Indeed, justice divine doth smite them with its hammer.

I call mine a aircraft carrier.

And it's a complete custom piece. Not any of the flash pieces you see thousands of people walking around with.Haveing the same design. My other 2 tattoos are custom pieces also.I just don't want to have the same thing as everyone else. And the tats that I have represent a part of my life.
-
I know $300 seems a bit much but the design is big enough that it's going to take up most of the lower half of my leg.But I have till wed to decide and might end up getting it put on my back.
-
It'ss $300 for the new tattoo that I'm getting put on next wed.
-
No, i think micheal jackson bought him and has him on display along side the elephant man skeleton.

-
heh heh heh what we have here is a craftsman triple deluxe table saw with a 2.5hp motor. But it's missing something.....more power. So let's just hook it up to this motor I borrowoed out of a alcohol burning funny car and boost that baby up to 120,000hp.now were cutting some lumber.Argh argh argh.
-
I was out in the workshop a little while ago playing with power tools and damned if I did'nt cut the tip of one of my fingers off.actually shreeded it si I cant even get stitches for it.And I can't self medicate myself right now because I have to go to work tonight And I don't think the jail would appreciate me being on the clock drunk.damn, damn damn. I did check though and can still go jump this weekend.I can still hold onto the toggle with out using that one finger and still have a firm grip and not have to worry about dropping it.Funny how that the next thing I checked after seeing if I needed stitches or not.

How many jumps have you made without a malfunction?
nubain1 replied to Skymonkey13's topic in The Bonfire
37 then reserve ride. starting over so have'nt had any in the past four jumps -
yep you missed it.the total I just spent is $349. $300 for the tat and $49 for the renewal. Actually its just over 17 jumps. $20 a jump at SDTR.Sorry for the confusion.
-
Just renewed my USPA membership online. $49 cut into the tat fund that I'm getting next wed at noon.So that's 16 jumps I just spent And what will I have to sohow for it? A new card,12 new issues of parachutist and a new tat.Damn I hate being broke.I still have to send off the child support check and the truck payment.I might have to sell a kidney for jump money for the next couple months.I know nobody wants to buy a used up liver.Oh when will I ever find that rich bisexual supermodel sugarmamma to take care of me?
-
Divorced - that's a special "D" license that usually costs a great deal more than what the USPA annual license renewel fee is. Noooo Shit. That D license cost me 10k in attorneys fees for uncontested. All I asked for was visitation of my son.my truck and what was mine before we were married.I said she could have everything else. And it still cost me every penny I had.
