Opiniion please........... I've been with this girl for almost 3 years. And for almost 2 of those years she has been out of work. She sits around the house all day doing nothing but reading, puzzles, knitting and eating. She will not help out around the house until we have a fight about it. Then it's nothing but attitude. She'll then clean a little but then the next day the house looks like it did before. I've complained that I've seen frat houses cleaner. I'm supporting her and her son. I work on avg.80-90 hrs a wk. and when I get time off I'm having to clean, cook, put out on demand. No matter how much I clean when I get back from work the next morning the house is trashed again. Now, after the fight we just had I'm being made out to be the bad guy. She says she will be out b y the end of the week and is trying to make me feel guilty. I had to go and buy a car today because the one we have is in her name and she said she was taking it when she leaves even though I'm the one that's been making all the payments on it. So, am I in the wrong for saying enough is enough and I can't take it anymore trying to do everything by myself with no help or no signs of any kind of appreciation for the work that I do? Any Ideas? And I think there's the possibility of something else happening on the side, but I can't prove it. Just a feeling.

I can't help scaring myself at times when I start thinking about all the things that could be wrong. Plus with all the crap I get exposed to at work I have to wonder sometimes.

Well, my immune system has been known to attack the squirrils in the back yard before.

Any Docs out there? I got a question that I need help with. I recently went to my doc for a physical and after doing routine bloodwork, he found my WBC high. Not much, just 1point above the norm. It's been high on consecutive draws. Now I have to go to a lab for more draws do be done and if it's still high then I get sent to a hematologist. I've had no signs of infection or sickness. I've been reading that it could be anything from stress to lupus and lukemia. I try not to worry about it too much with it being only 1 point off. But I sit here and start thinking about it and start getting scared. Any ideas what it could be?

Just talked to Tina (the artist) and she said she could work with the pic. I'll go next week to get the grey work done and then a couple of weeks after that I'll get the coloring done. In all I'll have close to 10hrs of work done to finish the whole thing.
-
Thanks PilotDave. The pic is small but she should be able to use it. I can't wait till it's finished then I can post the pics of the final work. Thanks again.

Can anyone help me? I need a pic of the Duff Beer Blimp. I'm in the process of having the tat on my leg finished and all that's missing is the blimp. Right now I have Bart under canopy. Homer w/ his canopy coming off his back. Grandpa Simpson under a round canopy. And Marge,Maggie, and Lisa doing a rodeo dive. And Santa's Little Helper and Snowball 1 with angel wings playing cards in the sky with a plane in a dive away from all of them. The Balloon and 2 more sessions of coloring and it will be finished. It's pretty much from my knee down. A really big piece. To see the original design, go to Skydive The Rockies. Bob has the drawing on the wall in manifest. Anyway, I've been looking for a pic and can't find one anywhere. Please Help and I'll post pics after all the work on it's done.

Feel your pain. Last week I had to go on a overturned car with 3 pedi,a 8day old not breathing and a 1 year old choking. After 13 1/2 years in the field pediatric calls still scare the hell outta me. This week has all been trauma with no pedi involved.

Thanks for the vibes everbody. Still waiting to hear from the grant comittiee. As for having everything together............I have a ER Dr lined up for medical control, a clinical coordinator from a college that wants to move out, multiple instructors that have given commitments to teach. clinical agreements with 2 of the hospitals for student clinical hospital rotations. 3 EMS services have agreed to let students do ambulance clinicals with thier field training officers. A site for the building that will site on 20 acres. All the paperwork is ready to be turned into the state for site inspections and course approvals. A supply list that if I get the grant will be well over what the state requires. I plan on teaching everything from Basic EMT through Paramedic with other classes to be taught there, such as CPR, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Basic Trauma Life Support, Auto Extrication, Confined Space Rescue and possibly Swift Water Rescue.

Hi All,I don't post here much but would like to ask a favor from everybody. I need all the good vibes, well wishes and good luck I can get right now. Here's the story........... I've applied for a grant from the Dept. of Homeland Security for a grant to start a EMS training program here in TX. The grant is for $750,000 more than enough to get things started. I have everything in place to begin except the check. The grant is to be awarded this week. The competition has been cut down from 248 applicants down to 2, with me being one of the 2. If I can get the grant I can help wiht the EMT and Paramedic shortage in a small way. I won't be able to fix the shortage alone, but every bit helps. So ,wish me luck, send me vibes, light candles, say prayers, pick your nose, whatever you think would help.

Question about jumping again someday
nubain1 replied to nubain1's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
thanks guys. Heard from the lawyer today and it's going to take awhile longer to get the case settled. The woman that casued the wreck is saying she does'nt have to coverage on her insurance. We'll see what happens. Right now I want to jump so bad I can taste the jet fumes. But I guess it would not be a good idea at this point. Hopefully I'll get back up again sometime soon. And thanks for the invite Aggie Dave. Once I get up again, I'll be sure to take a trip down to Houston and make a few jumps w/ you. -
Question about jumping again someday
nubain1 replied to nubain1's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I haven't jump in a year now because of a back injury from a car wreck. The Dr. has grounded me until I can have surgery. So after I can get the surgery and heal up enough to start jumping again,,,,, With doing coach dives, will I break some of the habits I had picked up or will it be like relearning everything all over again? I've been wanting to say screw the doc and go jump anyway. But to prevent that I took my rig apart and have everything bagged so even with the temptation I can't jump unless I borrow a rig from somebody. And since I had only made a couple of jumps since moving to TX I don't know anybody well enough to have them let me borrow their rig. -
I have a ferret named Spectre and a pup named Lightning. I wonder if there's some PD connection here?
-
Ah Damit all. You're coming here and I can't jump because of my back. Now I'm pissed. Maybe I can stop by while you're here.I live in Austin now. Have you made it back to STDR lately? I'm still in touch with some of those guys, so I get filled in on all the happenings around the DZ.

In the back of a ambulance with my ex. I'm a offcial member of the CODE 3 club. She wanted to do the Backdraft thing bit I refused to do it on top of a engine with all that dirty hose and there was a window in the bunk room that everybody would have gotten a free show.

I had a bad experiance with a Spectre 230, I was on my check dive for my B lic. After performing the required manuevers, I got stable and was hanging out and enjoying the view. After checking my alti and seeing I was at 5k I went to open (5k is my usual opening alti, I love the canopy ride). On opening I felt a lot of pain and I kinda greyed out. Lots of pain and hard to breathe and couldn't move my head because line twists had my chin pinned to my chest. I was able to kick out of the line twists and then could breathe easier but it still hurt like hell. I looked at my canopy and saw that the bottom skin had ripped from nose to tail on the 2nd cell on the right side. I tried to do a control check and the right side would collapse when I pulled on my toggles. Checked my alti and saw I was at around 3.5k And decided to chop it, had a nice blue PD 218 reserve above my head. After landing, someone picked up my canopy and free bag and brought it back to the dz. Sent it off to PD since it was a new canopy and I had only put 30 jumps on it when this happened. Turns out, my opening was so hard that I had broken a couple of ribs. I was grounded for awhile waiting for PD to check my canopy out and repair it. They repaired the damage and test jumped it. They said that they could not find anything wrong with it. Anyway, I've been jumping it since with no problems. Great openings (except that one), nice landings, and just all around fun canopy. But the point is, even though it is a reliable canopy it can still spank you and let you know it's there. I love the Spectre and will continue to jump one. It's been my favorite over the others I've tried.

The stuff works well, but even better is changing what you feed yuor fert. I swithced to IAMS kitten food, the one with the highest fat content and matched marshalls the closest in everything else. And since switching the odor has gone away. I wondered if marshalls put something in their food to help sell their other products. I've been feeding mine the IAMS and he is as healthy as can be.

I got you beat on the spare key distance. I locked my keys up sat at the dz in Temple TX and my spare is in CO.

I'm looking for Mike Hatley. We used to jump together at Skydive The Rockies in CO while he was at the Air Force Academy. After he graduated we lost contact. I got a call from him a couple of weeks ago and he said he's now in Mississippi. The problem is is that on his message he forgot to leave me his new number. If anybody knows him could you have him give me a call,e-mail or something and to give me his new number.
-
Hey Mike, I lost your number,Give me a call,pm,email whatever. and give me your new one.

Legalize it. I did a paper on it in college and while doing the research I found some very interesting reports from the USDA, UC- Berkley, The Health Dept and others. What i found was that in history, it was legal up until the early 1930's where it was legal until the cotton industry decided to get rid of it's maojor source of competition. the Gov't had actually paid farmers to grow it. Even George Washington grew it. In the studies I found, it was proven that every grade of paper could be produced at 1/4 the cost of harvesting trees and is a much faster renewable source. From seed to six foot plant in avg of 45-60 days. The cloth made from the fiber of the stalk is more durable and holds colors longer and better than cotton and can be made to be softer than cotton. Hence the cotton farmers desire to have it banned. The seeds of the plant has more dietary protien and less chloesterol than soybeans. It reduces pressure on the eyes and reduces the symptoms of glaucoma. It reduces nuasea and increases appetite in people going through chemo therapy. It reduces anxiety in people who suffer anxiety disorders and some forms of psychosis. I could go on but that's enough for starters. I wish I could find that paper soI could give direct quotes and the research case numbers. So legalize it, Tax it and use the money for healthcare, help those who can't get insurance. Resaearch, find cures for the plauges of our times Education, bring our schools up to the highest levels and make our schools the envy of other countries, not the but of thier jokes.
