My DZO is taking care of dealing with PD for me since he's a dealer through them.

I was hoping to hit the 4th of July boogie at Raeford this year.But I can't make it with no canopy.And I don't think USPA would be to happy if I just jumped my reserve.

I can't believe this hasn't been mentioned.... but BEER!!! Glad your safe and sound.. Yeah it was.Last sentence of my original post.I was able to go out and buy some so self medication here I come.Bought 3 cases.That should last the night.

0:1:ANd lets see here,how high can we take it?1st time had the breath knocked outta me under canopy,1st time ripped a cell on a jump,1st cut away,1st reserve ride,1st time landing a 218,1st time bruised ribs on a jump,1st time having a burn on neck from risers,1st time attempting B lic manuevers,1st time jumping w/o skytronic,1st time RSL used.That's enough for now.I could keep going.

I might have cracked a coupla ribs.It hurts like hell to breath right now.But I think 3 cases of beer should help numb the pain. Don't change your mind about the Spectre though.Up until today I loved that aircraft carrier of a canopy. And even after this incident I still plan on staying with Spectre when I downsize.It's just one of those things that happen.It's still a great canopy.It's the 1st bad opening I've had with it.I've put 22 jumps on the canopy.And have loved it.I would still reccomend the Spectre to anybody.But that's just my opinion.Others will tell you to get something different.

Had my 1st reserve ride today.ANd I hurt like hell. Exited about 11.5k.Exit was nice and stable.Alt check then started my B lic maneuvers.Left fig 8,backloop,right fig 8 back loop.All was well.Nice flat and stable,no drifts in either direction.4.5k wave and pull.Then, WHAM!!!!!!!! hard opening, had the breath knocked out of me and was seeing stars.On top of tha there was line twists out the ass.KIcked out the twists and looked up.One entire cell on the bottom skin was gone.Oh shit.was still flying straight and smooth.Tried a control check to see if I could possibly land it.Nope,not happeing.everytime I pulled on the right toggle the rigth side would collapse.Alt says I'm at 2500,so oh shit here we go.peel,pull,peel,pull.Next ting I know,one of the sweetest openings I had ever had.Look up and see this beautiful blue canopy over my head.Look around and redo control check.Beautiful.No traffic around so I start looking for my canopy.Find it in a gentle spiral,and follow it for as long as I could.NIce beautiful standing landing.Look around and don't see my main.But everybody else did so by the time I walk back to the hanger my main and freebag are there waiting for me.Look at my main and the rip is along the stitching from nose to tail.Have a riger look at it and he says it a manufacture defect.The canopy only has 22 jumps on it and I bought it new.The lines are still a bright white.So anyway bag it up to be sent to PD and see what they say about it. So the wait begins.Now I'm at home with bruises on my ribs and what looks like a huge hickey in my neck from the risers. Don't ever let anybody say that a Spectre won't spank you cause it can.It's a 230sf loaded @ 0.8:1 and my reserve is a PD 218 loaded @ 0.9:1. I owe Hooknswoop whatever he wants.He packed my reserve in the last repack.SO, I bow humbly at his feet.Glad to walk away from this.Up until today I had been scared that I would panic but I was really calm through out the whole thing.I have Jumptandem to thank for my AFF training.And for him telling me to constantly practice my emergency procedures.I always gop through them on the ride up and even when I'm @work or home I'm going over what to do.ANd I'm happy to say that I did the right thing today.And it's sunday si I can't buy beer today.

How much was shipping?I'm getting ready to sell my Fender B100 and was wondering about how much it was going to cost to ship it out.

So what is the best way to prevent this from happening?And what is the best way to fix this?I'm still very low in jump numbers right now.I have 37 jumps.So I'm still learning how to crawl in the sport,and want to learn all I can and be as safe as I can.

My mother says I'm old enough to live with the consequenes of what I do.And then she says she wants to get back into jumping herself again.Says she made some jumps a long time ago.I don't knwo if it's true or if she's just trying to keep up with me.I get a tattoo.SHe goes out and gets one.I get a second one and now she wants another.I get my 1st body peircing and she makes me peirce her bellybutton.I get my second peircing and now she wants to get her eyebrow peirced.It's not easy at times to have a old hippie for a mother but it could be worse I guess.

I just finished puttinh a case out of my misery.Oh well,looks like I'm working through another hangover tommorow.

0:2:1 2 jumps today and 1 case owed for my 1st 3way.I felt I screwd the dive up but the guys I jumped with said that getting 5 points for a beer time 3way was really good.Of course I completly screwed the 2nd jump.Went for the 1st point and flew off into space,dropped low.so I broke off and tried to track away.Oh well.I'm still trying to learn how to crawl in this sport it will be sometime before I can try to walk.But I'll get there.

I told my lawyer that if it would get my divorce over faster than I was the 3rd gunman on the grassy knoll.Needless to say he did'nt like that. But I told him I would admit to anything to get the divorce over.I even admitted to adultry even though I was innocent and it could have made me pay alimony. So as I told my lawyer,I was the one that pulled the trigger.I was'nt born at the time so I had to take a wormhole through the space time continuim to do the job.

I hope you get a chance to come back to Raeford and join us now that you are a cool skydiver! It is always fun to meet jumpers that started here and come back with all their stories. I'm hoping to make it back for the 4th of July boogie.If I get my tax money back in time I'm planning on being there.Don't know if I will or not since I filed late this year.But if I don't make it then,I still plan on being out there sometime this summer. Does James Williams still jump there?He's the one to blame for me getting into this.We used to work together at myrtle beach and he would come in almost every shift talking about jumping.I finally got to go on cinco de mayo 2001 and have'nt looked back.Only regret was taking so long to get through AFF.THe ex can be thanked for that.Never again will I let a woman come between me and the sky.

I did my tandem at Raeford and even though I knew I was around 160 I still had to get on that scale.They made my ex get on there also before her tandem and she was around 105.So I know that they are serious when it comes to the weight restrictions for tandems.

I am.Suck at work till 630 in the morn.I wanted to call in and go jump so bad today it hurt.But the weather was calling for rain today.So,just hace to wait till next weekend.At least I got 3 in this weekend.

I do a full check when I get to the DZ before the first jump of the day then I get at least 2 more checks from someone else before getting on the plane.Then on the ride up I'm checking all my handles and straps and rings before I go in case something was missed.Then I'll get another check after packing.And again before getting in the plane.And so repeated.

Is there any further word on how Duey is doing?I just found out what happened last night.He was one of my AFF instructors.I have had the highest respect for him since I met him last Aug.I have always tried to listen to and glean any advice he had.I'm still in total shock over this. I've been thinking all day today if there is any kind of benefit or fundraiser we could do to raise money to help him out in this time of great need. Speedy recovery Duey,We all love ya, Brother.
