  1. Just an observation from an outsider looking in - your talking about attitudes?.................... Obviously you have never jumped with or been around Jimmy when he jumped. He would do exactly what he posted one way or another Attitude is a state of mind, and when Jimmy has a camera on his mellon look the flip out. Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked
  2. USPA sec. 5.2 A-4 4. AFF students cleared to self-supervise in freefall but who have not jumped in the preceding 30 days should make at least one jump and demonstrate the ability to start and stop turns, maintain altitude awareness, and the ability to maintain stability during deployment, with a currently rated AFF Instructor. Hope this helps, Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked
  3. There is also a movement a foot called the "Blow Joe" society. This one is not just limited to females either. Maybe someone else will post to provide further intel. Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked
  4. Upside, All will be well!! I agree with the others statements on going to the DZ and not going with the 100% I am gonna jump attitude. If you hang around the landing and packing areas an up jumper will usually spark up a conversation. Once you hang out and get the positive vibes flowing you'll want to get back in the air. I too suffered from door anxiety until jump 30 or so. If worse comes to worse, head out to davis, Calif. and we'll take you up Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked
  5. Hey All, My sister is taking me to the Daytona 500 this year so I thought I would fly in a day early to get some jumps in. I would like to find some folks to jump with on 2/16 at Deland. Hope to meet some of the east coast dz.comers. Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked
  6. I had no issue with my bomber suit. The quality is awesome, I have 350 jumps on my suit and it's in great condition. My suit was delievered on time as promised and was a perfect fit. Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked

  8. You know, we had that problem on only one of our raptors, and it was a hell of an issue to resolve. Come to think of it, I don't know if we ever came up for a fix for it. Constantly trying different fans and shrouds, mixtures, etc. On all our other machines, it's has been a non-issue, though we typically run really rich. Definately not an issue on my fuel or gasser xcells. That's some real nice looking paint though, those anodized parts really shine it up (I bet you notice drastically less as compared to a stock head too!) .jim .jim Check your thrust barrings and dampners. When I replaced mine it went away until they became worn. Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked
  9. Here is a pic of my Raptor I built in honor of my lost brothers at NYFD. The paint was done by LGM guitars in Canada. The only thing on the canopy that is not paint is the lettering. An all the anodized aluminum came from quick UK. Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked
  10. You gotta love the woof and poof of the raptor also. I have seen numerous 3-D pilots lose machines to this common malfunction. Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked

  12. All the canopies I demo'd came on risers so rigging was not and issue. 3-Ring assembly and a d-gag attachment. Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked

  14. Ole, I am not angry thus the mellow response in my post. Even though you put a does not mean a hill of crap to some folks. If I was able to continue in sport and never see another F-up I would be a very happy man. Fact is though in this sport I have discovered Mr. Murphy is also a skydiver who does nothing but rodeos. I will do whatever it helps to assist another jumper as long it is within my abilty or control. Please just be careful in how you decide to word posts as some folks don't know either of us and might get the wrong idea. I tried not to come across harsh and I am sorry if I did so, but being very new to sport and trying my best to follow in the steps of my mentors I do not need any type of obstcles placed in my path. I come from a DZ that is very safety conscious and the last thing I want to be labled with is someone who wishes or desires F-ups on the part of my fellow skydivers so I can be a "hero, friend or whatever" cause I helped them out. As far as temper and teasing is concerned, I will tease in jest as I did to Brian. WIth that said you have never seen my temper as I keep it locked away for special occasions No ill well intended. 15. Since most of us jump at turbine DZ's what is it that you look for in a boogie? Inquiring minds want to know.... Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked
  16. First off, I don't know you all that well and would respectfully request you not base an opinion on what you think I do or not do to gain the respect of my pears. The absolute last thing I want to do while on the DZ is chase gear or take care of a broken person, I would rather be jumping. I chase gear and would tend to a broken person as I would want them to do the same for me if I was hurt or I had to cut-away. Yes I work in the public safety field, but I don't wish death and destruction upon the public so I can be the "Hero". I especially do not want a fellow jumper to F_up so I can take care of them or their gear for self gratification. I have been humbeled by senior jumpers and yes I teased Brian a bit chasng his equipment, I consider Brian a friend and it was all in jest and he knew that. Please take a little time to think before you post next time as I do not want any jumper to ever F-up, but if I am there when they have some type of incident I will do whatever I can for them as I have been taught to do so by mentors in sport. 17. You should have asked him when he finishes a protien drink does it give hime the same urge to have a smoke as a regular meal does? Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked
  18. Leah, Well you know me, always having to come to Brian's rescue (this is becoming a habbit) Anyway, we saw the direction it was falling and had a strong feeling it was gonna land on the road (which it did). I figured since Mr. Murphy obviously went along on the Mr. Bill he would continue screwing things up and a car would hit the canopy or worse the canopy hit a car and a car hit the ditch. Sean did all the hard work due to my lack of driving Skills (he actually had to walk 20 feet back to the canopy) I missed by this much Sean never mentioned it to anyone so I will let the cat out of the bag, The free bag was headed into the drainage ditch. I did my best impression of a teenager jumping across the ditch catchig the bag in mid-air, stradling the ditch and basically doing everything possible to keep from falling into the ditch myself. I could only imagine the roar of laughter if I came back with a dry Freebag/pilot chute and I was soaking wet and covered in mud (Whew) P.S. How is the shoulder? we gonna get you back in the air soon? Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked
  19. I was there also and saw the live feed. Yes it was done at or around 4,000. They had done several successful Mr. Bills earlier in the day. Thanks again Shawn for helping me retrieve te main and free bag. Edited to add: Pull Stable/Pull on time/but no mater what PULL!!!! Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked

  22. Meanwhile, an airworthiness directive (AD) reducing the 750XL’s maximum take-off weight from 3,400kg (7,500lb) to 3,230kg, issued by the New Zealand CAA on 23 December, has been overcome. The AD was issued after the wing failed ultimate load tests. A modified wing passed ultimate load testing the day after the AD was issued, Hébert says, and the directive has been revised to restore the 3,400kg take-off weight after operators have modified the wing. exerpt from www.flightinternational.com/Articles/2006/01/24/Navigation/177/204290/PAC+changes+reinvigorate+750XL.html Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked
