Seeing a pic of it on the floor I doubt does it justice, how about modeling it for us? Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked

Wow, Mother nature was not kind to all of us this year and neither was the CASA (hot as hell and then the CASA blew a hydraulic pump on sunday). Oh well there is always next year for better temperatures and a the casa should be healed by then. Anyway, thanks to Guano, Groovalicious, Kaleidoscope and Roger for all the cool organizing. Even though it was hot as hell we all hung in and made some awesome skydives!! Thanks Ray for spending the cash to bring out the CASA as well as providing the food and beer. It was great to see old friends and meet new ones! Next Nor-Cal Boggie is at Byron (sure to be off the hook like last year). Hope to see you all before then! Plan my skydiving vacation....
Feeblemind replied to jloirsdaan's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Quote However, NWFlyer suggested a boogie in Oregon. reply] Well I went to the All of the Above boogie last year in Oregon. Needless to say I hope Teresa (spelling?)and Joe are prepared for the arrival of Nor-Cal to their boogie. Everyone that went last year had such an awesome time, the word just got out. It is much cooler there and the views from altitude are just awesome. A bunch of us are flying in on Friday morning and will be hitting the DZ around 10 am. Hope to see you there. Best Sammich I have had is from the beechhut deli here in nor-call. Wheat, white, onion, rye, fact is the bread don't make this sammich. Mayo and mustard to personal desire, Turky, ham, with cream cheese spread on top, bacon, veggies to taste and topped with avacodo. Well I know where I am taking the kids to lunch now Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked

PLease Help Newish Jumper with problems
Feeblemind replied to overide's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Lots of great advice from some very senior folks. I have 500+ jumps on a pilot 210 and 188. I am intrested to know how far do you have to pull on the toggles before the canopy responds to the imput. I had similar issues with my 210 and I had my rigger jump it. When he got down he took the canopy to the loft to shorten the brake lines. I am not saying this is what is the issue with your canopy, just offering another possible solution. Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked -

And to think I thought you were going to to say: 1) An individual on medic-aid 2) A taxpayer that sees his family doctor after waiting a week for an appointment, then waits eighteen weeks to see a specialist, then gets an x-ray, which isn't reviewed for another month and finally has his surgery scheduled for a year from then. Hey, Just an unhappy reminder. This is GFD's memorial weekend, so alot of folks won't be at their normal DZ. I heard a bunch of folks will be over in Byron on Sunday (I have to work so I am just repeating what I have heard) RIP GFD Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked

Me too, just some pops. I guess 20 years on fire engines with sirens and air horns did not do me any favors. Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked

I am not going into any great detail here because I think the Non-tourists have explained it well, if you don't understand that part oh well. I do belive there are a few DZ's that allow you to jump that allow for the right to sue. By accepting the right to sue you jumps will be $300 per jump ticket this is not a smartass post, it was on a waiver I signed (BTW I went with the $20 dollar jump tickets ) Phil Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked

what winds for 1st time when downsizing?
Feeblemind replied to countzero's topic in Safety and Training
Totally... Yep good advice there, same that I got from my instructors. I downsized during the winter when the air density was high and there was typically a slight breeze. But, thats a California valley winter. -
That's one of the cool things about this sport. To a certain point, you can choose how much risk you're willing to take. That is very true. I definitely have accepted the fact that I could die/be seriously injured skydiving, but I don't think I'm going to do anything that would make that more possible than it already is. Like I said before... I like hanging around in the sky, probably because I'm a huge fan of heights and scenery, and quick turns seem to diminish altitude quickly. Very good point about emergency turns low, and the "I didn't know I was that low" turns. I said the exact same thing in Febuary 2005 as I was taking AFF and then progressing with my skydiving. I am still very cautious, but I am increasing the speed of my landings by using front risers. I have had some informal canopy coaching, but I am going to try and attend a professional canopy course sometime this season. After i have obtained profesional canopy coaching I may become more adventurous at a very slow rate (I am old and slow so running out fast landings is tough. I also have a family to support so getting injured is a bad idea). Good luck, I am glad you are exploring the sport and educating yourself prior to your AFF. 1st case - Upon graduation to self supervised status (i.e. AFF graduation) 2nd case - Upon 1st Jump with your license Now here is where it gets ugly Since you have your handy dandy license in hand every time you do something for the "first time" you owe a case of beer. In 18 months I have bought countless cases (in the neighborhood of 50) and 1 keg. The beer rules are supposed to be more than you just providing a drink for folks at the DZ. Generally when you bring in your case folks will ask why you bought beer, this is the time to explain what you did you maybe you had your 1st cut-away. Generally the beer is a conversation piece to build relationships in my mind. other times you will be told you owe beer (crashing through the 4-way team while doing video, crossing the beer line in the landing area, etc...) last but not least, 100 jumps, 00 jumps you make special (hey it's my 500th and a jump get's organized for you), 1000th and everty 1000 there after. Most folks like imported brew, but buy what you like. This has been a public serice announcement Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked

When a parachute opens in the airplane...
Feeblemind replied to Skyliber's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Are you curious how fast a person would leave once their PC caught air? take a peak www.skydivingmovies.com/ver2/pafiledb.php?action=file&id=1982 Also please take notice all the other jumpers exiting the aircraft in short order (of course back flying to get video ) Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked -
I'm getting there, it's alot harder work than I thought it would be. I actually enjoy it though, next week I sohuld have my D-70 ready for stills. Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked

There is a GIANT new 10 foot screen in the hangar with a kicking sound system to view all the footage. Hope to see you all there, Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked
