Hey All, Not to be labeled a turbine snob, but unfortunately I am going to have to cancel I lost the use of the the motor home to the owner (My Father), my son just got his soccer schedule and has a game Sat. Morning at 9:00 am the wife and I are putting in a swimming pool, etc etc etc. As much as I would like to hang out and enjoy the camaraderie with fellow skydivers, I feel my son's game and some time with the family would better serve me than being gone for three days basically partying. Any other skydiving EMT's/Paramedics?
Feeblemind replied to everymansaved's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I jump at two local DZ's where there are a couple of nurses, doctors and several paramedics (like myself). Since I am only a paramedic I havent carried ALS supplies for some time. A few years ago a Paramedic had his license revoked due to the fact he had a small cache of ALS supplies. The revocation was supposedly based on him having the ALS supplies with intent to practice para-medicine without medical control. So needless to say all I have is BLS supplies and a cell phone. Yummy, can you also make the chocolate ones like Beth made for the American Boogie? Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked -
Yes clicking can be cartiledge, it can also be tendons coming across the bone bone or a damaged patella or patellar tendon. I think you may be right Steve, but an X-ray or MRI is the answer. Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked

There is much speculation on how Bill Dause keeps his prices so low, but it's something I feel uncomfortable asking him ( I think it would be rather rude to do so). All I know is Bill is not just a DZO, he is a skydiver as well! I often see him doing fun jumps with customers, the Red Dogs, and he also does tandems as well. I do remember a conversation one day at Lodi on the creeper pad and someone said "Bill is a skydiver, he loves the sport and he wants one location where it is still affordable" I would say he has successfully done that. I have bad knees (4 operations on the left one alone) keep it elevated and iced and go see a doctor. It may be nothing, but then again you might have a significant injury that minor medical intervention might mitigate. If you are injured and let it go untreated you may face a more evasive procedure and onger recovery time. Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked

Thanks T, I passed the info on to Joe. The terrain is less than hospitable to say the least. We looked for a while after we had the main bagged, but the blackberry bushes were kicking our butts. Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked -

To the Molalla crew, Joe & Teresa, Eddie, Bill and Dave, Thanks for an abosolutely awesome boogie!! Once again the vibe and good times were second to none!! This is my second A.O.T.A.B. and next year will definately be my 3rd. Great organizing, no waits to make loads, great jumps, good food and beer, and a very mellow vibe. For all of those who could not attend, bummer for you don't miss out next year!! Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked -
Dragon, Lodi is like any other DZ. It has it's rules, fast airplanes (Otter and 2 - Beech 99's) and a huge landng area. But Lodi has one thing no other DZ in the U.S. has that I am aware of: $15 lift tickets to 13K!! and blocks of 50 that will get the price to $13 to 13K

0/15/ 0 - Wife was at home and I was in molalla at the "All of the Above" boogie. It rocked I feel sorry for all of those who could not or did not attend, you missed out. 15 - all the jumps varied in what went on, but damn were they fun (most memorable was Krisane's 1st hang in a hybrid)

Thanks for the kind words in regards to being heads up. I have been very fortunate to have a great instructor (Ed Palowski) and awesome mentors at both Lodi/Davis where I jump. I also have two friends (Kieth and Lisa) who have chatted, coached, encouraged, approved and scolded me during my brief tenure in sport. It was these learning experiences that prevented me from hesitating and the training took over. It did not make me happy to cut-away (I had a jump to make with friends) but we re-scheduled that jump for this Saturday Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked -

First Cut-away, what I learned from what I have learned
Feeblemind replied to Feeblemind's topic in Safety and Training
No sh#t there I was!! I was having a great time at the all of the above boogie in Molalla, OR. I go on a head down jump with Bill "MX" Halsey and Weakmindedfool (jump was kick Ars!!) I track off and deploy. As the canopy is sniveling I look up to see more than a few line twists (best guess is 8 to 10). The canopy opens and during that process the slider gets spun into the lines. I press on the risers as hard as I can and kick to no avail (actually I lost ground), I check my alti and see I am at 2K (my personal decision alt.), I reach for my handles and away it went. I then landed safely under my reserve. The only unfortunate thing was my canopy was not accessible until the next day and I lost my free bag & reserve PC. Here are the things I learned from my this: 1) I was taught to "Check my Sh#t"" (before boarding, at 1,000 feet, at around 9-10k when you are preparing to exit and after the door opens) I do this at least four times on each jump. I am a coach and I relay this info to newer jumpers. When I decided to cut-away the handles were right where I placed my hands on them over 2100+ times before. 2) Your decision altitude is exactly that, yes some folks would have tried harder to clear this mal, personally at my experience level 2K is my personal alt. I stuck to it and lived to make another skydive. 3) Listen to your instructors (and I don't mean just until your off AFF) Mine happened to be be at the boogie ad he got a hug for training me to save my own ass. 4) Have faith in your rigger and trust in your equipment. If you take care of it and them, they will takecare of you. That is all and I did by drinks at the 205 club for the chop Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked -
