  1. Congrats on a safe reserve ride- Yes indeed stability is important! Hope the beer tasted good! ( I know it was really tasty after my cutaway!) Did you hear that distict "ka-chink" from the three-rings? I'll never forget that sound! Easy Does It
  2. I would if I could in a heartbeat- If I had discovered skydiving twenty years ago, I'd be regular DZ trash, traveling from DZ to DZ in a van. But since I have so many "responsibilities" now, I'll have to settle for every other Saturday, at least until retirement time.
  3. ***I also once saw someone who was jumping a racer for the first (or second) time take his rig off in the plane so someone could check his reserve pins. I thought that was a really bad idea. Yikes!! And you really can't get much better reserve pin protection than a Racer, either! Now if the main pin was more freefly friendly, that would be great! Easy Does It
  4. Heights don't bother me too much- Being on a ladder that is bouncing, or on a swaying scissors lift- gives me the willies-- Easy Does It
  5. 45 minutes- (almost to the miute-) 35.4 miles from my driveway- And I know where the police usually set up thier speed traps- Easy Does It
  6. Man, I was getting calls on the Nextel phone before I even got out of bed- I already know I have a basket case to fix before I even get out of the shower! THIS SUCKS! Easy Does It

  9. Multiple handle checks serve several purposes - Mostly I use it to help reinforce muscle memory, I rehearse emegency procedures several times when I don my gear, before boarding, and a couple times before exit - Pin checks are always welcome, too, especially if there has been alot of squirming and jockying for posistion on the ride to altitude. I'll be seen checking my main handle just before exit, too. I think it also sets a good example for students, too. It set a good example for me, and so I pass it on. Easy Does It
  10. We're running today too- I've an applicant coming in for a interview in a little while, fortunately not much going on otherwise - just keeping "busy" -- hehehe! I "could" work Saturday but the weather should be in the 40's-Guess where I'll be?! Easy Does It

  12. I got some GREAT t-shirts (none were skydiving related, but awesome just the same!) Best gift so far has to be the brewing kit the wife got me- Has to be the best non-skydiving gift a skydiver could get! And the look on my wifes' face when she opened my gift to her from Victorias' Secret! Easy Does It
  13. My vote goes to Michele also, for all the above mentioned reasons, and for encouraging me to share my experience with my AAD fire while on student status. And she's just an all-around great chick! Easy Does It
  14. And handsome babies they are! (Big, too!) A liqour store owner I knew back in NY had an Akita for a gaurd at his store- (Papasan Khan) Needless to say, break-ins were not a problem. Side note- See you at the DZ Saturday, weather permitting? Easy Does It

  25. I was on C-182 load for 30 second delay, and we had two static line students to kick out first, a b/f-g/f deal- Boyfriend got out no problemo, girlfriend got her feet on the step, no go, went around, still a no go. So the three of us rode the plane down, JM/myself/and the chick. We gave her support on the ground and all, but she was so embarrased we never saw her again- Too bad, she was easy to look at, too! I eat a very light breakfast on jump days, and if I get the munchies I might nibble on something, but save major scarfing till the end of the day- Easy Does It
