And those who believe in AGW so strongly that they'll make up facts to match their conclusions.... and those who will believe the admitted scam artists. -------------------------------------------------- Stay positive and love your life.

I have a few skydiving friends that would fit in that picture... -------------------------------------------------- Stay positive and love your life.

Not if all of those big hearted liberals had simply filled their businesses with minorities, to prove how unbigotted they were. That would require some action on their part. That's not how liberals work. They want everyone else to do it/pay for it/believe in it while they do whatever they want. -------------------------------------------------- Stay positive and love your life.

Justice of the peace denied marriage to mixed racial couple
FallingOsh replied to jclalor's topic in Speakers Corner
It's actually not this day and age. It was nearly 4 months ago and has been previously discussed. -------------------------------------------------- Stay positive and love your life. -
Not quite the same as working "at will," as many (most?) of us do, is it? Yeah, cause that happens a lot. "Your shoes are brown and eyes are blue. Get out." Horseshit. -------------------------------------------------- Stay positive and love your life.

I don't pretend it doesn't exist. I just admit that it's not the standard. There's a difference. And if you could prove my dinner was torture then I may consider listening. PETA is a joke of an organization and if the extent of your argument is based on videos from their website then you have no argument. You see the youtube videos. How much work have you actually done on farms. And if you're so disgusted and hurt then why aren't you doing something about it? My guess is you just watch a few youtube videos, swear off steak, and feel like you've done something useful. Meat is not torture. Ever. Meat is meat. I've killed plenty of my own food and never once tortured anything. If a farm is torturing animals then they should be investigated and closed. Meat != torture. Again with the giant leaps to try and produce some misguided feelings of guilt. And I'm guessing that's all you've seen. There are farmers on this website who have been to hundreds of farms and never seen that crap. So what do you suggest there, hero? -------------------------------------------------- Stay positive and love your life.

It's ok to kill them because we're at the top of the food chain. Those pointy teeth in the front of your face aren't there for tofu. Killing animals does not equal torture... at all... in any way, shape, or form. You're doing the typical giant leap to try and link two things together in a rediculous way in order to prove a point. Eating meat is not analogous to murdering humans. -------------------------------------------------- Stay positive and love your life.

Nice Hottie, but did anyone see the clip at the end? It would take a real sociopathic piece of absolute trash to not feel for the animals who were being, "processed." That burger you eat, that ham you eat is a product of that sufferring. Poor animals wanting a chance to live, to love pay for it with more than their life, they pay with a horrible sufferring followed by a horrible and painful death as they are hung by their legs, allow the blood to rush to their head and then have their throat slit. I imagine several on here feel nothing after watching that and I am addressing you as pathetic, worthless sociopath. I had a bacon, egg, and cheese this morning and a hot dog for lunch. Tonight I'm having pot roast for dinner along with a couple of beers. Then I'm going to sleep like a baby. I don't support the mistreatment of animals and it actually bothers me a lot. I'm also not a fucking pussy that cries over a steak. You're making a huge jump between feelings about an animal torture video and eating meat. They are not one in the same. -------------------------------------------------- Stay positive and love your life.

So does a lot of good. Unless I read wrong, the people attempting to take the children have said they only had the best intentions in mind. They made no mention of taking kids in the name of Christ or that the children must be taken from an evil nation to save their souls. So far, the only information we have is that a group of people was trying to rescue orphans. not that they were doing anything in the name of religion. -------------------------------------------------- Stay positive and love your life.

Canadian Politicial heading to USA for Heart Surgery
FallingOsh replied to CanuckInUSA's topic in Speakers Corner
You guys and your ideology. Yes, I agree that would be great. Unfortunately, here in reality, you can't just snap your fingers and create a system where that works like that. People will be taxed beyond sustainability to pay for it, other people will drop their plans in favor of the free plan (ie. Hawaii), etc. Even if the government run plan took effect, lawrocket's point would remain. With any given situation (plan), you can choose two of the three. -------------------------------------------------- Stay positive and love your life. -

Is it really good social policy to take away addicts' only means of support? Would this not simply increase poverty, homelessness, and hunger and all the other negative things that go along with that? And won't that simply increase the financial pressure on private organizations like the Salvation Army? I'm not sure society will see any net gain by making life harder for drug addicts. These people need help, not more punishment. Perhaps we should provide their drugs too so as not to burden them with actually having to take the welfare money out to buy it themselves. Drug testing in order to receive free checks in the mail = more punishment It's not benefitial to make life harder for drug addicts.... -------------------------------------------------- Stay positive and love your life.

Don't you think you guys shaped a pretty fucked up future already since 1980??? I mean YOU are the ones who spent the country to 11+ TRILLION dollar deficit..... seems you have not been paying the bills so well Any supporter of Obama has absolutely zero room to bitch about spending. -------------------------------------------------- Stay positive and love your life.

You mean that we didn't experience yet another terrorist attach which killed thousands, and didn't invade yet another country? And the "control" is not the proper word as was shown during healthcare bill voting. Soooo.... same as the last guy is good enough for you? The opposite of that was Obama's campaign slogan. -------------------------------------------------- Stay positive and love your life.

Out of that entire post, this is the part you took away? You really are sour. -------------------------------------------------- Stay positive and love your life.

They were doing that before the obscure references on sights. Held accountable for what? The founder of the company, who died in '03, started the practice and it continued after his death. What exactly would you like to punish them for? The government bought the sights long after this practice was started. If they refuse to modify future purchases then the gov. has every right not to buy anything else. They didn't do anything illegal. Knee jerk punishment (and possibly breach of contract) is irrational. The government isn't pushing religion. The company isn't even pushing religion. The founder did it as a personal reference to his beliefs. The gov. has every right to make that decision about future purchases, even though the company is not pushing religion. -------------------------------------------------- Stay positive and love your life.

Why don't we ever blame the real supporters of terrorism?
FallingOsh replied to quade's topic in Speakers Corner
I don't know.... so far in this thread we've had one lib say we should've invaded Saudi and another say honest politicians aren't qualified for the job so the government should lie and cheat. Take it all with a grain of salt. Then flush in all down the toilet. -------------------------------------------------- Stay positive and love your life. -
Since he isn't making his statement in German he might want to shut the hell up. You know, I agree that the French guy is an idiot, but at some point we really have to stop thinking that our contributions in WW2 mean we have a free pass to do what we want. Like spending hundreds of millions of dollars helping a disaster area? How arrogant of us to win WWII AND provide humanitarian aid to Haiti. -------------------------------------------------- Stay positive and love your life.

THIS is a BIG deal... Mayo Clinic drops Medicare...
FallingOsh replied to ridestrong's topic in Speakers Corner
Then, yes, you are missing his point. Again, his post was not about the inner workings of insurance. I know that's how it works. Lawrocket's point was that there are 4 ways to spend money. Someone spending money that isn't theirs for a product they won't use is the least responsible/practicle. That's what the government does. When you get to choose what company/coverage/plan/etc, you are choosing what is best for you in your situation. Letting the government do that for us is the least responsible/practical way. They have no interest in you personally and couldn't care less about the cost since it isn't their money they're spending; ie. soaring deficits and assanine healthcare laws. Sound familiar? -------------------------------------------------- Stay positive and love your life. -
THIS is a BIG deal... Mayo Clinic drops Medicare...
FallingOsh replied to ridestrong's topic in Speakers Corner
True, but how is that all the insurance industry's fault? A large driver in that cost is government policies like mandatory ER treatment with no hope of getting repaid. Those costs are absorbed by the hospital, doctors, insurance companies, and paying customers. Why would you expect insurance companies to just take those hits and not pass on the cost? You also left out the point that says you get to spend money on yourself. That's where "unless you have a high deductable HSA" comes from. Your ability to decide what you want/need. You get to pick your company, your plan, and your deductable. Spending your money on yourself is the most responsible way to spend and to get what you want/need. I think you're missing the point. Lawrocket was not talking about the inner workings of an insurance company. Of course if you need $100,000 surgery then the insurance, and hence other people's premiums, will cover it. He was talking about life and fiscal choices in general. You spending your money on you is the best way to get a good deal for what you want. Allowing me to pick your insurance plan (or car or house) and pay for it with someone else's money is assanine. That was his point. -------------------------------------------------- Stay positive and love your life. -

Obama is fascist now? He's the architect of this saving grace stimulus that, according to you, will only work from the top-down. -------------------------------------------------- Stay positive and love your life.
