my point was that we dont know what are included in each of those categories in his article, he just uses big vague terms 'recession' 'bush policy' 'obama plan' his interpretation of whatever numbers he compiled and categorized are probably way different than everyone elses'. As I said, the lables/categories and numbers/percentages are just too vague in that article to be taken as fact or defended. there are 100 articles just like it on the other side of the aisle that are just as sh*tty, i figured you'd post something a little more legit is all. granted NYT ain't bad, but this one was ridic. and i gotta mask anything close to an 'unprofessional' word/term from this computer. For financial preservation, I gotta stay as G rated as possible 10 hours a day on this keyboard, my b*d! So there I was... Making friends and playing nice since 1983

while I do agree with you 100% that the unspent money should go unspent and just not be taken advantage of, i disagree with your point based on that article. It is clearly a bias article, the guy is just making sh*t up and putting numbers into the categories he decides to whimsically create to sound pretty. 37% is due to the recession cuz tax revenue is down so we spend a trillion dollars on mostly useless programs? the article is just entirely too vague to be taken seriously. Sorry, i don't need some liberal dork with the NYT who studied journalism to dumb down the economy and government spending for me. 'well i think this was bush's fault and so was this, may as well round all these #s up since a republican was in office, so we'll put that money over there under his name' total cr*p. Just had a line over this past weekend on Sunday, so i spose the experience pertains to the convo. It was the most baby line over you could ever imagine. I thought i had tension knots cuz something looked funky on up towards my brake lines on the left side, i couldnt tell wtf was wrong, i just knew i pitched lowish, far from the LZ, over grape vines, and was spinning at an ever increasing rate. Welcome to my first chop

You guys are UN-BE-F*CKING-LIEVABLE. Go figure someone had fun skydiving for a fair price. Never woulda guessed. Thank the skydiving Gods for your sky-is-falling mantra, righteous internet marching, and blind/deaf angry mob. Don't know what the community would do without it. You do realize the idiom 'Where there's smoke there's fire' doesn't apply if you start the fire... Sarge- hope to see ya around some day, stick with it regardless of what DZ, city, state, or country you choose to jump in. Though many .commers try to mask it, skydiving (as I am sure you're now aware) is actually A LOT of fun. Be safe all, Brett (not directed only to you Jan, just making a statement to your peops) So there I was... Making friends and playing nice since 1983

I can think of multiple chicken littles on here that would start 6 threads if that practice was occurring at one of 2 DZ's... All perfectly acceptable practice(s) with very reasonable justifications regardless of location. To OP- sounds like you had a great and successful jump, and also got some extra vertcal skymiles for $10 more on a $200+ package. Can't find any faults with that day! Hope to see you in our playground again sometime soon! So there I was... Making friends and playing nice since 1983

skyride/ASC debate aside, of all the DZs I've visited so far 4 of em in 3 different states in 3 timezones had varying altitudes for tandems for different prices. One had 3 options for altitude, each incriment more expensive than the previous. You saying we're all getting ripped off by paying more to go to full altitude than hop n pops? Hop n pop prices are the only fair prices for jumpers to pay whether they exit at 3, 5, or 18000 feet? Altitude costs money, $10 for 2-3 people on a tandem (depending if you had video) going an extra 4,000 feet for 25 more seconds of freefall is totally reasonable. This is a common practice at numerous DZs around the country and I'm sure around the world whether your personal bais wants to admit it or not. So there I was... I had about 250 jumps and packed a step through on my safire1 190 loaded just under 1.3. pitched around 3.2, opened HARD with 3.5 line twists spinning on my back. kicked out of the twists and was stable. looked up and realized something looked funny but couldn't figure it out @ first. Did a sort of reverse continuity check as high as i could reach, down to the risers slowly realizing i was an idiot and that I had packed myself that little gem. i reached for my cut away, then heard AFF calling 'is it stable, square, and steerable?' did a bunch of control checks and landed that f*cker.

Clintons are great at causing or ignoring sh*t in africa then putting a band aid on it later and get a face saving photo op. Somalia, Rwanda, and Burundi come to mind. I'm sure ignoring Darfur long enough will allow the rise of a branch of the Clinton foundation with a tearful, hand holding speech, as well as a nice round 2 in Somalia. Not that Bush did anything for Sudan, but he never made it part of his agenda to begin with. Who knows, maybe he had it right though, just let em duke it out. So there I was... Something touch a nerve bill? In all honesty if it is even a valid article, the intent is probably innocent. However, I personally think that is a really freaking unreasonable request to report hearsay on policies directly to the government. suspicious illegal activities sure, that's what police are for, but policy is definitely in the WTF arena. Slippery slope to North Koreaville? unlikely, but this Obama fellow does seem to keep getting lefter and lefter... So there I was... Making friends and playing nice since 1983

Sounds like what happened with Bush Sr. He did what he could to avoid it, and still had to do it, and yet his pledge was even more clear: "read my lips, no new taxes." All you got here is a refusal to make a similar pledge. From unbreakable O, close enough to a similar pledge to me- "If you are not in the top 5% of income earners in this country, you will NOT see any of your taxes increase one single dime..." F*cking standard politics as usual, we all called it, you all refused to admit it. Unfortunately despite YEARS of repeated broken promises (admittedly from both sides) the idiot american public actually believes the guy. Smaller government = fewer promises to be broken. As an aside, even if his proposed tax plan went on as promised, still bullsh*t to raise taxes for anyone IMO, but i digress. So there I was... Making friends and playing nice since 1983

Profiling CEOs and Their Sociopathic Paychecks

846,153,846,153 skydives @ Lodi. Bill would be happy! yeah, 850 billion skydives. with 32,000 USPA skydivers in the US, that is 26,442,308 skydives per person If one person had 2 rigs and a packer (not paying packer with debt money) and it took 20 minutes to get to altitude and back on a new plane, it would take: 32,197,635 years of 24/7 jumping for one person to jump all 850 billion skydives. OR over 1,006 years for each registered US skydiver to make their fair share of jumps, again 24/7. So there I was... Making friends and playing nice since 1983

I could do a search but I'm feeling lazy and since the thread is up- anyone know if the GKs form a VRW team? I thought I heard something about that. Would love to play with em one day and actually look like i know what I was doing. Maybe I'd just turn points on my back like I do with the RW peops out here... And yes, the sport is very cool in that we do get to play with the pros. I explain it to whuffos that way a lot, nothing like having our John Elway teach ya how to fly a canopy

What Can We Do About Skyride II
BDashe replied to slotperfect's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Fortunately I didn't have to read very far to realize you made my point for me. And furthermore, please show me where i have defended skyride and it's affiliates other than the seperate entity of ASC. From the court document: "Defendants USSO LLC, Igovincent, Inc, Cary, Ben, Taparu Inc. d/b/a ThrillPlanet.com and Adventure Sports, LLC shall be referred to herein as the "skyride defendants," and Defendant Atlanta SC, Inc., CASC, Inc., and Tandora, Inc. shall be referred to herein as "Defendant Atlanta SC." Before this quote it mentions ASC and skyride are owned by Cary and Ben, nothing I haven't said. Two seperate companies owned by the same people, pretty straight forward... again, nothing I haven't said. I browsed the rest of the document and it almost exclusively deals with "skyride defendants" over "defendant Atlanta SC." ASC appeared to be thrown in there just to make sure certain practices dont spread to another business owned by B&C. I'm cool with that, ASC is a great place to jump with great people and staff, just like the farm is a great place to jump with awesome peops. I prefer ASC as that is where i started (bias), there is no van ride, and the packing area has A/C. Still love lots of the people over at the farm though! Anyway, try understanding the documents before you post em, but thanks for the assistance. So there I was... Making friends and playing nice since 1983 -
What Can We Do About Skyride II

well andy, for other reasons that was my nickname in college, though i may as well retain it for skydiving with my head down speeds... anyway, dave what youre responding to is not what I was talking about. using the same pictures on different sites owned by the same person or group is perfectly fine. That is all, I will shut up now as at least you are focused roughly on the proper issue pertaining to the thread. So there I was... Making friends and playing nice since 1983
