  2. It was not a mistake to choose the lesser of two evils. Even knowing now what I didn't know then, I'd take Obama over McCain or Romney. Of course, I stay pretty well informed. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  3. I would consider them an unrecognized state with soldiers. Eric Rudolph would be a good example, as would Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols. It would have been better, and almost certainly faster and cheaper, to have dealt with Osama bin Laden by intelligence organizations instead of major military action. It's not about how organized they are or how many people there are. It's about what they are organized to be and to become. No. That said, ISIS/ISIL have been pretty successful. If not defeated, they will eventually go from an unrecognized state to a recognized state, however reluctant other states are to recognize them. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! 4. Whenever possible, avoid breaking more than one law at a time. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  5. Interesting, but not surprising, how you set up straw men to avoid addressing what's actually been said. ISIS is aspiring to be a state actor. I'd consider them soldiers to be dealt with militarily. Your implication that police only exist on the local level is absurd. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  6. The only time I can see a label being relevant to anything other than political grandstanding is whether bad guys are classified as a soldiers or as criminals. If they are a soldiers, deal with them militarily. If they are criminals, use police (or other non-military force) appropriate to the jurisdiction. agreed! If I assume what you mean you correctly, a civilian is no longer a civilian once they commit a terrorist act. But they are only civilians when they are planning the attack. So police should be involved when apprehending a terrorist planning person, and military should be used to deal with terrorists that actually act. In which case, the guy that made the video, that the attacks were blamed on, fits into this . . . HOW? If the above is correct, why wasn't the military allowed to act? Was it not a terrorist attack? Obama says he has always said it was. Why would you assume all so-called "terrorists" are soldiers? I would argue the opposite is more often true. And responding to them with military force has, thus far, worked out pretty poorly. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  7. Translation: I refuse to have an intelligent discussion with anyone who doesn't think just like me. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  8. Sure, she had it coming. No, she didn't have it coming. She failed in her responsibility and paid the price with her life. It's more like analyzing what went wrong in a skydiving fatality. In most cases, skydiver error is a contributing factor, often the primary one. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  9. I think it's more common for people to vote against candidates (or parties). The typical voter awards their vote to the candidate most likely to defeat the candidate they least want to see win. It's a shortcoming of the voting system that we use. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  10. That was one of her responsibilities. She failed, and she lost her life because of that failure. Laws dictate who is liable for damages. Whether property owners (typically via their insurance policy) are liable for damages when someone is injured on their property depends on how that person is injured and how that person came to be on their property. Property owners are least liable for injuries suffered by trespassers. But that doesn't mean there is no property owner liability, ever, just because to injury occurred while trespassing. If a property owner might be liable for injuries sustained by a trespasser, then, yes, a lawsuit is a perfectly valid way of legally determining liability and collecting any owed compensation for those damages. I infer from your question that you are opposed to such civil resolution of disputes. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

  12. She should have protected her firearm. Once the guy had her firearm, he wasn't unarmed, was he? Hence, the officers weren't the ones who escalated the situation to the level of deadly force. Your example is a red herring, unless you're proposing that cops shoot all suspects, every time, just in case. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  13. That train has already left the station in Florida (and other states, probably). Floridians have long been adding obscure amendments to their constitution. For example pregnant pigs have protections dictated by the Florida constitution. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  14. To prevent tragedy of the commons. Such large fees are why public land can remain worthy of grazing at all. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  15. Those are the exceptions, and should not be treated as the rule. If someone is not willing to take such risks, they have no business in law enforcement. Law enforcement's greatest weapon is public trust. Nothing undermines that trust like shooting unarmed persons. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  16. If a cop cannot resolve a situation with an unarmed person without escalating the situation to the level of deadly force, he has no business in that profession. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  17. Read my post, to which your question replied. It was not specific to the Michael Brown case. The only way your question was in any way relevant was if Michael Brown was in fact armed (which we know was not the case). Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  18. Are you claiming that Michael Brown was armed? Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  19. So? They know it's a hazardous job when they sign up. That doesn't justify shooting an unarmed person just because they aren't 100 percent sure that person poses no threat. If they want safety, they should find a different line of work. Cops are supposed to be professionals. They should be held to a much higher standard than civilians, not a lower standard. 20. Do you ever address arguments actually made, or do you just waste everyone's time building straw men? Actually I go back on topic and do not let others drag me off Like you tried to do At least your posts are good for comic relief. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

  22. Unfortunately, insurance regulations vary widely from state to state. One of the things I remember from my insurance classes (I minored in Risk Management and Insurance) was that, in some states, uninsured motorist won't provide benefits for damages that exceed the policy limits of an insured motorist. Hence the need for under-insured motorist coverage. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  23. No So your challenge is a red herring. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  24. With police in the US, that seems to be the justified null hypothesis. So, now I will ask you for the list of all the black kids shot by white cops in say the last two years If there is that many of them you should have no problem finding that list Are you suggesting that a cop can only be racist if he actually shoots black kids?
