No, that would imply that global warming is some sort of religion. It is not, regardless of the rhetoric of the article. It is a topic of science. As such, any claims made to the contradiction of the general consensus of climatologists should be based on peer reviewed scientific study if they are to be taken seriously. Unfortunately, people respond better to rhetoric than to scientific studies. However, public opinion doesn't affect whether or not global warming is real or if man is a major contributor. Personally, I have a tough time buying into the idea that the majority of climatologists are all a part of a big conspiracy theory. http://www.epa.gov/climatechange/science/stateofknowledge.html Math tutoring available. Yet another claim that global warming is not real, and, as expected, relied entirely on rhetoric instead of any scientific evidence. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

That's a nice idea, but things aren't that simple. For example, on the audio side, there are many who are quite vocal in their support for Ogg Vorbis as an open source replacement of MP3. However, it has not yet been confirmed that the CODEC is indeed free of patented proprietary technology. The Fraunhofer Society, one of the developers of MP3, believes Ogg Vorbis infringes on its patents. It is highly unlikely that a legal challenge be made prior to a major player (e.g. Apple, Microsoft, etc.) makes a concerted effort to establish Ogg as a viable replacement to MP3 in the marketplace. The potential patent litigation has thus far allowed MP3, AAC (which Fraunhofer helped develop as a superior replacement of MP3), and to a lesser extent, WMA formats to remain the dominant lossy file formats in the marketplace. The same potential problems for free and open source CODECs undoubtedly exist on the video side. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

Let's review: Some Christians (and more generally, religious people) are moral. Some Christians (and more generally, religious people) are not moral. Some atheists are moral. Some atheists are not moral. I'm not seeing a correlation between being religious and being moral. The two characteristics appear to be independent of one another. Math tutoring available. It's probably worth mentioning VMWare's Fusion also allows this. I've never found any need to run Windows on my Mac, so I don't have an opinion which is better, but they both have a lot of user support. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

Demeter is far and away the best internet browser available for the Mac. It has far more features than Safari (fewer than Opera), and is a native Cocoa application, so it doesn't feel like a port like Firefox and Opera do, and supports System Services like Safari does (which Firefox and Opera do not). I've found Demeter to be faster than any of the other three, as well as slightly faster than Camino (Mozilla's fast Mac only browser). I also have found XShelf to be indispensable. If you have AVI video files, I recommend downloading Perian, which allows those files to be played in Quicktime, as well as in Quicklook. For Windows Media files, Flip4Mac allows playback in Quicktime. If you get an external drive (highly recommended) for extra storage and/or Time Machine, make sure you get one with a FireWire 800 (IEEE 1394b) port. (USB 2.0 is simply too slow; it's the slowest wired connection on your MBP.) eSATA is even faster than FW 800, but will require a eSATA card for your ExpressCard slot. A drive case utilizing an Oxford chipset is highly recommended. Any external drive will need to be formated in HFS+ (called Mac OS Extended (Journaled) in Disk Utility) with GUID partition table scheme to be used with Time Machine. An external drive formatted this way can be bootable (with a FireWire or USB connection, I haven't had the opportunity to test eSATA), if you install OS X onto it. This is also highly recommended. One last note on external drives, I've read that Time Machine needs a drive with at least twice the capacity of the boot drive. I can't verify this, since my TM drive is 2.5x the capacity of my internal drive. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

That's what it looks like to me, also. However, that is a WHOLE LOT different from supporting more military spending. More money could be spent on troop armor while still reducing the overall military budget. Our military expenditures have far exceeded the point of diminishing returns. Math tutoring available. What evidence is there that a god exists? Why should one make the assumption that there is a god without any basis? It is much more logical for scientists to assume there is no god until there is evidence to suggest such a supernatural being exists. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! I think you're right. I read an article a while back about the MIT blackjack team. It was mentioned that one mistake per hour eliminated the team's advantage over the house. Two mistakes would reduce their chances of winning to less than if they were not counting cards. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

Then again perhaps he would not be as adverse to actually using the veto power of the POTUS, and opposed to the rubber-stamper we have now: http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0801767.html No argument from me that there is a reason the President has veto power over Congress, and the President should responsibly use that power when appropriate. However, I don't believe that pork in a bill necessarily justifies a veto in every case, perhaps not even in most cases. The bill has already passed both chambers of Congress, which is often no small feat. It may be beneficial, important legislation. The pork may be a small price to pay, and the most responsible option the President has may be to sign the bill into law. It's better to prevent the pork from the bill prior to sending it to the President, IMO. Judging by the data you have provided in your first post suggests that McCain is a better legislator than Obama or Clinton to help accomplish that goal. Just my 2¢ Math tutoring available. Okay. Fair enough. I didn't say there was. I said the Air Force (including its Reserve and ANG components) had many more fixed wing aircraft than the Army (and the UAAR & NG) has. I'm not at all surprised. That doesn't change the fact that the Army has few fixed wing aircraft compared to the Air Force. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

Considering the Army has very, very few fixed wing aircraft compared to the Air Force, and the Army National Guard (presumably) even less, that makes sense. On the other hand, if the Air Force found private maintenance of their fixed wing aircraft to be a financially sound choice, that might indicate that private industry could perform fixed wing aircraft maintenance more efficiently than the Air Force. By the same token, if the Army (or USAR or USANG) relied primarily on private industry to maintain its rotary wing aircraft, of which far out-number their fixed wing aircraft, that also might indicate that private industry could provide maintenance more efficiently. So true. In a democracy, the citizens would make the effort to fulfill their minimal civic responsibility of voting. Can you offer any examples of problems in government that are not directly or indirectly caused by the large proportion of politically apathetic citizens? Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! Did you check the Preamble? Private industry does not have the market cornered on efficiency. One only needs to look as far as the private healthcare industry in the US for an obvious example. We pay more than anywhere else in the world, yet we do not have the best healthcare. There are numerous countries with socialized healthcare that receive better care at lower cost, on a per capita basis. From a mathematical perspective, sometimes a cooperative, socialist strategy is a more efficient, and sometimes a competitive, capitalist strategy is more efficient. Neither is a superior strategy all the time, in all situations. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

That defeats the purpose of Social Security. It's a safety net, not a retirement plan. Private accounts mean that some people will invest poorly, ending up with too few or no benefits. Instead of private accounts, I would suggest allowing people to match their SS taxes in retirement accounts that are tax free going in, like a traditional IRA, and out, like a Roth IRA. In a democracy, most anything the people can accomplish privately can be accomplished by the government. The people just have to be active in said government. Math tutoring available. The mathematics is relatively simple, but if we take action now, a small tax increase is all that is necessary. The longer we wait, the bigger the required tax increase will be. Do you really believe Bush would sign a bill raising taxes? His method of operation has thus far been to cut taxes and increase government spending. I'm pretty sure simple maths is not one of his strengths. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
