ARGH! This weather SUCKS!!!
JeepDiver replied to mattyblast's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Here in Miami when I jumped the last load of the day yesterday it was 75 degrees.... but there was a chill in the air. -
I've had two Malamutes (larger than a huskie) when I was a kid growing up. They are truly a great breed of dog. Great temperment, good with kids, very protective towards their owners but not in an uncontrolable manner. A great dog! I lived at the time in the countryside so one or the other would follow me for miles through the mountains. They need alot of space.

Man bowls 3rd 300 game of life, then dies Posted December 30 2005 PORTAGE, MICHIGAN -- A bowler collapsed and died at a bowling alley shortly after rolling the third perfect game of his life. Ed Lorenz, 69, bowled a 300 Wednesday in his first league game of the night at Airway Lanes. When the retiree got up to bowl in the fifth frame of his second game, he clutched his chest and fell over, and efforts to revive him failed, friends said. "If he could have written a way to go out, this would be it," said Johnny Masters, who was bowling with Lorenz. Friends said Lorenz started bowling in 1957 and ended last season with a 223 average. He rolled his first two 300 games over a one-week period in 2004. In May, Lorenz was inducted into the Kalamazoo Metro Bowling Association Hall of Fame.

Your Skydiving Goals for 2006
JeepDiver replied to Dumpster's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I wanna learn my A, B's & C's. Do a canopy control class, avoid breaking myself, and be able to jump at the Keys boogie in '06. -
My rig does fit a bit tighter across my chest than yours appears to fit you. Looking at your leg straps in picture one it appears that they are not tightened equally. I can't tell beacuse the red is very visable but the black is not. It does appear that the red has about an inch of spacing and the black appears to be closer to three inches of spacing. It just appears to me that your rig is slung low on your back.

I've been told by my instructor it's simply a good habit to get into. I do the chest strap first then the leg straps.

11/05 all the way around and I intend for it to get old gracefully.

I put 4 jumps on my new Sabre2 over the weekend. I have to say I love it. The openings were all onheading and o so soft. I had a packer pack it for me after those jumps but when I got home I gave it a try. Here is one thing I learned quickly. Never attempt to pack a new canopy on a tile floor. I drove me crazy! I moved it to my hallway which has carpeting and I was able to get it in the bag. It's was not the prettest packjob but for my 1st attempt I did it.

My DZ is going to be open. I'm not sure if I will be going to make a jump though. Have others jumped on Christmas Day?

Major medical, life Insurance, long-term & short-term disability.... and I've saved a whole lot of money by switching my car insurance to geico.

only if it broke at the three rings, with the RSL shackle (connected) leaving with the the broken portion of the riser. If the riser broke above the three rings (the RSL shackle would still be connected to the the three rings at the harness) and this would require the cutaway handle being pulled. Not that I'm certain. I do require that if I am wrong, I'm corrected.

looking at my rig the collins laynard will in fact release the leftside riser (if enough force is applied), the resevere pin most importantly, which will then release the sping loaded pilotchute of the reserve. I'm not certain but the rightside riser will still be attached due to the lack of an airsteam since the risers are not leaving with the main after the main has been deployed..you are talking about striping the lanyard off the rig using the RSL shackel at it's connection point after disconnecting it from the rig without pulling the cutaway handle... right?
