Candidate for the USPA BOD
skyjumpenfool replied to fencebuster's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I'm not sure I can even vote for you, but, I like that you come here to debate. However, I think this is where you loose my vote. I think the USPA should be an organization for skydivers run by skydivers. I am not a fan of it also trying to represent DZ's or Manufacturers, regardless of the size. That, IMHO, is a conflict of interest. But, I'm guessing that ship has sailed. Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky." -
The comments under the article tell the tale, this is my favorite.... brodflightcrew comments... Just a non scientific example of public sentiment about where the support leans for this issue... 11 people "like" this post by Kim Gibbs. (referring to her article in Times Call) Compare that to the 3,133 who instead "like" this article... http://www.timescall.com/longmont-local-news/ci_2... (referring to the article begging her to pay up and shut up) Yep, that sounds about right. Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."

Unfortunately this is quite the opposite of what I have seen. (At least here in the Midwest) Small, municipal airport boards are more concerned with maintaining their private little country clubs. I've seen both sides of this.... I have one of my Skydive Photos on my VISA card. When I go to any DZ, I always use this card to pay for beer, gas, food, more beer, etc. I make a point to show the card to the employee. We use to use our formation stamps (any of you old timers remember stamping out each dive?) to stamp all our dollar bills before we went into town for stuff. Locals understand the value of each and every dollar. The "Ol Boys club" at most small airports don't care about that. Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."

Well, that's three words. It's really all about tongue weight. If you don't understand this, don't pull a trailer. http://auto.howstuffworks.com/auto-parts/towing/towing-capacity/information/tongue-weight.htm

Would you continue filming when seeing an accident?
skyjumpenfool replied to format's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Although "firm boobies" is the obvious correct answer, I would continue to film and determine what to do with the footage later. Perhaps I can trade it for "firm boobies"? Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky." -
All the posts are from the site host and there are very few responses. Let's not give them anyone to argue with. That is, after all, what they are fishing for. Maybe they will just go away? Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."

It came up in trial that Gibbs was telling potential plaintiffs her lawyers would draw up an agreement that Gibbs would cover any potential payouts in case of a loss, and Gibbs attorneys immediately objected to that line of questioning. The plaintiffs now (rightfully and by a judges order) owe Mile High tens of thousands of dollars. Go ahead.... run up the bill. Personally, I believe Kimmy's new "call for cash" is an attempt to get the CQS followers to pay that bill as well. It's time for the CQS'ers to derail the money train. Kimmy's been quoted saying that they have "pledges" for thousands of dollars and they need to collect those dollars and raise more for the appeal. The CQS's Nutcakes are about to find out the difference between getting pledges and collecting those pledges. I think this case is over. I had a guy go off on me at the Home Depot near my house the other day when I parked my cycle in the only available "Pro" reserved spots by the front door. When I flashed him my pro card, he just yelled, "Damn Rice Grinders!" As I left the store, guess where his truck was parked?...... that's right, the closest handicapped spot. Entering the Pattern at a predetermined point at the correct altitude is the first step to flying a pattern. Plan/know the exact point you want to enter the pattern and do so at the correct altitude.

I was an accomplished cliff diver and national champion gymnast when I started skydiving. I did handstands on the roofs of cars going down the freeway at 65 mph. I could do a triple twist on the trampoline... at the end of my routine. I once dove 25 feet, head first, into a sand hill. That was 20 years before you were born. Don't, for 2 seconds, think your generation is the first to be "extreme". I (my generation) was no better equipped to wear a camera at 200 jumps than you or any one else. I didn't know that then. You'll learn this in time. Now, GET OFF MY LAWN.

I have my own reasons for not having an AAD. One (minor) reason is that $1500 times 5 rigs is a little expensive. Due to USPA's raising or the Min. Opening Altitude, I'm currently reassessing my decision. Whatever I decide, I'm comfortable that I've made that decision based on my own experience, knowledge, research, and ability. Thank you for giving me the right to make this decision on my own. Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."

Girls are amazing. But they should not be rangers unless they are capable of "guy love"........ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKe7iX46UFE Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky." -
I understand what you're trying to say Wendy, but the effect is to let Kim Gibbs dictate what we are allowed to say (in effect to silence us) on a skydiving forum that's designed for skydivers to discuss skydiving issues. IMHO, that is not a road we should walk. Not that it matters to a crazy person (KG), but we have the right to our opinion. And, this is a forum for us to state and discus those opinions. I'm trying really hard not to offend KG in any way (restraint is not always easy) but I refuse to be silenced by anyone under threat of lawsuit or subpoena.
