How do you guys think CRW was invented?

The storm dumped just enough snow in Minneapolis that I was able to drive my snowmobile to work today. Ya gotta love winter..... Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."

Every spring here in Minnesota, we have to put up with the remnants of these chemicals until we get a good, hard driving rain to wash it away. I've noticed this year they're "pre-treating" the roads before the snow flies. It's a liquid sprayed down on the roads. It's supposed to clear the snow as it falls. Back in the 70's, the runway at Baldwin, WI was infested with gophers. We'd go out with our .22 long rifles w/scopes and have a great time. Eventually, we got most of them. It was great fun. Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."

Cloverdale City Council Votes to Close Airport
skyjumpenfool replied to Elisha's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
"Laulima officials, who are proposing an equestrian center, 150-room hotel and 80 luxury homes, say the airport is not a good mix for horses and guests at the high-end resort." So, don't build the "high end" resort! If it's not a good fit, go somewhere else and build a horse park. Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky." -
training for skydiving when not skydiving

Find a gymnastic school that offers an "Open Adult" gym night. Ask to get basic tumbling coaching on a spring floor. Or, if they have one, trampoline instruction. -advice from an old tumbler. Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky." -
How are jumpers supposed to get a C license if they are forbidden to jump with an A or a B? This would mean no student program at the DZ, and only 200+ jump experienced jumpers allowed. Of course, this is just a back door way of trying to shut down the DZ. Clear violation of the judges order to "get along." She is continuing to create issues for the airport and the DZ. Perhaps it is time for to go get a job and pay the legal fees she was ordered. Maybe the DZ could tow a banner around her house asking for her to pay! top It really looks as though she's grabbing at straws? Clearly, she is loosing support and interest. ..... not to many replies or comments on this article? But, I agree with Top, Kimie had her dance - time to pay the band!

What are the criteria for a successful night jump? As far as I can see, being alive at the end is the only one. This doesn't demonstrate the development of any particular skill. You can land in a tree, on a roof, or dangling from a power line and still log the night jump. The night jump as a requirement is an anachronism. If we wish to add advanced skills to the most advanced license, those skills should be relevant to the type of jumping that skydivers are most likely to pursue. Living through a night jump is not a skill, it is just a rite of passage inherited from days long gone. Advanced skills worth developing would include CRW, head down, sit, wingsuit and swooping, all of which are pursued regularly at just about any good sized DZ, and each of which has some kind of performance metric that can be applied beyond "I did it and lived". Congrats professor as per usual you are right. There is no skill to jumping at night. It just happens. No planning no execution you just fall. Hmmm? I would argue that it depends on how you go about it. Like everything else, you get out of it what you put into it. That's all I got.... I think that idea would the the Click & Clack seal of approval. There is a whole raft of people in a HUFF because they dont get that reference I miss Click & Clack.... On my new Chevy Colorado, I couldn't possibly leave the tail gait down. The "backup camera" is mounted in the tail gait. I wouldn't even be able to back it out of the driveway. I think the intent of the night jump is to include the night jump training. Completing a night jump should include the required training, thus qualifying you for a D license. And Croc, nowhere in this conversation is dissing us poor old farts acceptable. Putting down the elderly to prove your point is completely disrespectful. ...so, check your diaper sparky. I heard about your water landing. I was glad to hear you survived well. Also, I was surprised to hear that this happened. I know this DZ and I know that a thorough briefing was done. Something everyone needs to understand is that, not everyone sees the same at night. Night vision is something that some suffer from more than others. You'll find out what I mean the first time you're in a car at night, during a rainstorm, with a driver who suffers from (with out knowing) night blindness. I'd be certain to have this checked out before you repeat any night jumps. And, this is a shining example of why Night Jumps should be required for a D license. The OP may have discovered a weakness in his abilities. Something that should be corrected before a D license is issued. Get better at identifying the DZ or correct the night blindness issue. Not only should a night dive be required, it should be completed successfully. Anyway, hope to jump with you soon. Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."

No, it's real! I just got done registering and it's only 12 easy payments of $32.75/month. They do require 3 forms of credit cards, but that didn't take long. Yep.... it's not a scam, they've got a logo and everything. Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."

Skydive Lake Wissota, WI! Best winter DZ ever! OK, it's cold there. But these hearty souls jump all winter long. And, the "Road Shows" are legendary. Suck it up and give them a try. Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."
