This was the most unkindest cut of all (c)

IMHO the opinions about coaching are mixed up because well, the quality of coaching varies from place to place. I started at small dropzone where all experienced instructors were busy most of the time working with AFF and tandem students and AFF graduates were getting "coaching" from USPA coaches who only had a few hundred jumps. Needless to say, the quality of their coaching was not that great (although the jumps were a lot of fun . I too would find outrageous to pay a significant coaching fee plus lift up ticket to someone who can barely fall straight down. Compare this with new generation of SDU coaches. I have seen many of them (including Rob himself) working with students. Just their time spend on the ground is worth extra dollar. Yes, it is more expensive, but on a long run, good quality coaching makes a difference between someone with 200 jumps who cannot consistently dock on a 4-way and a person with the same jumps numbers performing well on a 30-way.

Not planned - dumping in place - reason to get upset?
AMax replied to motorheaddown's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
The whole team concept means that you talk to your teammate (or a whole team) before discussing the issue on a public forum. Clearly, your intentions are good but I (personally) would still be upset if my teammates did something like that to me. Edit to quote one respected competitor: "Do you want to be right or you want to have a team?" -
bring it on push up contests between the rounds?

Go to http://www.skyleague.com/pages/scores/byClass.php?class=1 and click on the team name (Black Cat or Extreme.RU). Then click on the video link. They also have a lot of vid from the world meet in Germany

I am sure he already looked at your profile and won't argue anymore

Got mine on clearance at the local video store, for $2.50. Subtract the cost of a blank tape, and you get a true measure of the movie's value. Agree ... and I speak from experience - I only watched it about 10 times

you didn't take physics in school did you?

On a serious note, I was surprised they published the letter stating that skydivers don't generate lift Perhaps they should pay more attention to the content.

Curious as to why this was moved to Bonfire - it's about a letter in Parachutist concerning skydiving. Moderator? Two possible explanations: 1) Because I did not elaborate that in the original post 2) Conspiracy (opponents of your theory are trying to hide the truth from the general public) By the way, I like your new name

First of all, your instructor would be the best person to talk to Consider a container that holds a 150 (tight) or smaller. This gives you a lot of range from conservative ~0.9:1 to pretty aggressive ~1.3:1. allowing to downsize at least twice without changing a container. I know people who thought they can handle a smaller canopy and bought the rigs that don't hold anything bigger. Several months later they were looking for new gear because they needed to upsize The choice of reserve is also a big deal - back to the top of my postQuote

How do you define point (and/or other slots) in VRW 4-way?
-
Do you have any solid evidence to support this?

Genetically, the humans are remarkably similar to chimpanzee. Why do humans wonder and the chimpanzee’s don't?
-
It is so cool what you do I like the exit count ... did you guys get some traditional 4-way coaching?
-
amazing ignorance ...

Well, the issue of who is responsible to stow the breaks and collapse the slider has been beaten up to death. Since you jumped on, let me ask you the same question. Lets say, you always stow the breaks and uncollapse the slider right after landing (I imagine you do). One day, you forget the slider and experience a brutally hard opening on the next jump because the main was packed by your packer with the slider collapsed. What do you do? Edit to add: I do believe that in most cases packers should not be blamed for malfunctions/lost mains.

I finally got my 'parachutist' and realized that Mel is a celebrity now no wonder she’s staying out of public forums I will be bragging forever that she once bought me a beer

perhaps you are in a wrong sport?

It would also be nice if they team up for 8-way. I can even suggest a team name … how about Furious Gravity?

some interesting exits
