You can also modify E to make some transitions quicker. For example, for block 1 we have IC take high left hand grip on OC's right arm (instead of left arm) - this way the centers are already in star picture and all IC needs to do is to drop a right hand grip on Pt's leg and take OC's left hand to build the top of the block.

Did you really? My team can give you some free coaching how to take it intact j/k When Doc Sherry put us in a door with a tail head jamming in the middle, point inside the plane and the centers facing out and resting their legs on points shoulders I could not believe it will ever work. We took it out 4 or 5 times and it always flew.

Depends on how serious you want to be. Traveling is not practical, but training out of the plane that is not used for competition is even less practical. This is true for all levels from Intermediate to open. Lets say, if you want to be competitive in Intermediate class, your team needs to master a lot of different exits. For example, this year was our first year together and we took 26 different intact exits (we used E for blocks 1, 15 and 21, P for blocks 7 and 13 and D for block 9). In close competition only one bad exit can cost you a lot. Consider this when you make a decision

LOL .. didn't we start form talking who's gonna win a world cup?

The fact that the students are educated about packing doesn't mean that they will still remember how to pack after using a packer for a long time. I firmly believe that people should pack by themselves for al least first few hundred jumps. The reasons are: 1) You learn how to pack quick - important skill because this way you will never be shocked to find out that your packer cannot make it in time for the next load. 2) More importantly, you learn about your gear and how to maintain it - life saving skill.

I think (and hope) they will win but it's not going to be easy - French are focused on 8-way too
-
I didn't know about that. So my guess would be Fire wining a close race against Odyssey and then Russians and Fastrax - both very close (not nessesary in this order) but slightly behind the first two teams. Go Black Cat!

Only 3 Open teams. Don't forget the Women's 4-way. ltdiver Yup

That's exactly what my teammates told me to master before they consider jumping with me again. Please don't tell them that I was playing with knee flying instead of learning how to get stable on my belly.

Because it's very convenient A rigger will re-pack the reserve and do whatever is necessary ... a packer will pack the main. Why should I bother to learn about my gear? There are people who don't know how to pack their main. How can you expect them to perform some simple gear maintance?

Thanks! I cannot wait to try it again

Perhaps you should read the guidelines of this forum before posting

A question to those who know how to do it well: What would be the best way to start - arms wide/out or arms in mantis position? I just started to learn how to knee fly. The first attempts with arms in mantis did not seem too bad, but I had some problems with controlling heading. So maybe flying with arms out would be easier for beginning?

Cool!!! I just got an e-mail from her - she's little sad because she cannot jump
-
Fire GK's Odyssey Russia/Italy (not necessarily in that order) Belgium/Fastrax
-
Shari, I am sure Katy will be very pleased to know that you guys did well Have you e-mailed her?

I don't know but I think it's a great idea

Do not blame yourself Everyone makes mistakes, including you and the judges (whose job was extremely difficult last Saturday because of very fast pace). Without the video it is difficult to guess what happened ...
-
Bill, You are deviating from the point. Rookies do not turn the blocks- they only build the tops of the blocks in addition to all other random formations. The question was about the random build.

I don't think they will kill you These medals, aren't they from the same meet your are talking about, girl???

Yep and I kinda like the name Oh … Anal Jihad is one of my favorite team names It is kinda funny that knowing all five people on the team I still cannot guess whose idea it was Intermediate was a very close and exciting race - kudos to 4 Fun Part Deux for challenging us during entire season We learned a good lesson that not showing it to the judges can really hurt a lot – lost 6 points on busts in 5 rounds. Spaceland Thunder put a very impressive 31 in round 2 Thanks to Steve and Ryan for making it happen - we waited for almost 7 hours for clouds to clear and still managed to complete 5 rounds before the sunset. Actually, some teams including us managed to complete all six rounds but the last one was not included to the final score (too bad, it was the fastest)

would be more appropriate to post this in Safety and training
