With an edge maybe..... Yes, it was sarcasm. But it was sarcasm used as an attack. You have to expect a counter attack when you do that. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

Rolling Stone article: "How America Made Donald Trump Unstoppable"
gowlerk replied to ryoder's topic in Speakers Corner
^^^^ This!!!!!! Jerry Baumchen So we all agree on this? I think this is one of those areas where America is not particularly exceptional. History repeats itself everywhere. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free. -
Clean coal? Not merely an oxymoron, but an insult to our intelligence. The miners die young from mining it, our children get sick from breathing the particulates, the ash is stored in retention ponds that leach or breach, the landscape is mutilated from producing it, and the CO output is high. It has poisoned the air and water of cities since the beginning of the industrial revolution. And it still is in many places. It gave us many of the good things we have today, but it is time to move past it. Only the deadenders are clinging to their filthy coal cribs. Russian teen delighted to win contest; His mother, not so much

There seems to be more than one Russian lady with that name. One of them is a tennis player. A different one is a "movie star". Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free. -
How climate change affects real people. Today.

So, what that says is they think increased precipitation is causing the rate of sea level rise to be 20% lower than it would otherwise be. Which is interesting, and I thank you for bringing it to my attention. I can see more fresh water on land as being potentially a good thing. Like I keep saying, many of the effects are unknown so far. There will be winners and losers. But it doesn't change any of the three central facts. Oh, and that term "climate change land" that you are using. I would interpret it to mean "Earth". Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free. -
It would seem a permit is not required for most Alaskans. But because of reciprocity agreements with other states it is in your interests to get one. That way you can carry if you travel to Florida or Arizona for a boogie. But not California, no agreement there. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Current rates of sea level rise have roughly doubled since the pre 1992 rates of sea level rise of the 20th century. But of course none of that has been vetted by Watt, the TV weatherman. Just a bunch of trained scientists. So it may not be "truthy" enough for you. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free. -

Yes, people who write to sell advertisements do exaggerate. We know there will be effects. We don't know exactly when, or how bad. But you can depend on reporters writing stories to focus on the worst case scenario. That does not make sea level rise less real. It has already risen and there is every reason to believe it will rise more. And there will be people who lose big, and other largely unaffected. The guys in South Dakota will probably be alright. I'll be okay here in Winnipeg. We could use a little warming here. Likely Iowa, some of the most productive farmland in the world will become a little hotter and drier. And where I live will become more livable. But that's just speculation on my part, I don't know. All I know for sure are those three facts. Air temp, sea level, and CO levels are all rising. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free. -
Only until they land that reserve while unconscious. If anyone has ever seen a square reserve land with a 170 lb test dummy they will get an eye awakening. And every square reserve I have drop tested has turned downwind on its own. Jerry Baumchen Hi Jerry, There is that. But on the other hand even with a larger reserve unconscious landings are bad news. So you're probably screwed anyway, may as well look good. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

None of those "hardest hit" assessments are by scientists. Hardest hit is a subjective judgement. The scientists only predict the physical effects on the Earth. And they admit they don't know all of them. Science doesn't claim to be "never wrong" science is always trying to clarify and gain new knowledge. But the atmosphere is warmer, sea level is higher, and CO concentrations are up. And the trend for all three is higher. Do you really need someone to draw you a clearer picture than that? Do you or anyone else dispute any of these three basic facts? All these places have potential to be hit. And guess what? They will all feel like they are hit hard. What the evil EPA is attempting to teach your children about this: http://www3.epa.gov/climatechange/kids/impacts/signs/sea-level.html Better move to Texas where Republicans keep close control on science curricula. Are you Americans crazy enough to put Donald Trump in office?
gowlerk replied to 434's topic in Speakers Corner
Hi Wendy, I've always thought that the "black lives matter" slogan is simply missing a word. It should be thought of as "Black lives matter too". Of course, that is what it means when you consider the subtext. But so many people choose to ignore that fact. It's human nature to care more about people we can easily identify with than those who are more different from us. It's up to each of us to do what we can personally about that. Ron knows exactly what he is doing when he uses that language. It's not an accident, it's carefully thought out. He feels safe using it here, and yes he demonstrates cowardice doing so. (Unless he speaks that way when he loads up his weapons and heads to the city where the unwashed ones live.) Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. There is a lot of that. Tiny rigs for the tiny, speedy mains with matching small reserve trays. 200 pound people flying small mains should get containers that hold larger reserves, but that is not very fashionable. And fashion rulez. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

And I'm not sure the point of your OP. The human failings of a few scientists are somewhat amusing. But prove nothing.
