I've been reading pretty much all the posts for the last 2 days. (since Monday AM) I never saw the post that he probably failed to send properly. I'm not sure what to make of the tirade. It's way out of character. Either he is coffee deprived this morning or he left his computer open without password protection.

Yes, I wish commentators would just stop saying that "climate changed caused....." whatever they are reporting on. All they need to say is that it is an unusual, uncommon, or unprecedented event. Unless you can prove it's cause blaming it on climate change just undermines your credibility.

Good, then you don't need the tip either. I know that AFF instructors have a more technically difficult job requiring more skills. But TIs work harder physically and are more likely to need the money. I respect AFF instructors immensely. -

Comey at one point called himself a Republican. What does that mean? Is he a party member? Does he lean that way? Who gets to decide? There are only two options for major parties to choose from in America. Comey is more conservative than liberal and he makes a living as a Washington lawyer. He had to pick a side like everyone else there does.

Canada just had a crisis of sorts in that department. Somalis from New York, and from Minnesota were crossing at non official points and making refugee claims. Some of them in Manitoba suffered severe frostbite and lost fingers and toes. They were fleeing in fear of Trump/Miller policies about people from shithole countries losing their temporary status. What happens here is that they are processed, given more temporary status, and most of them eventually denied and sent back to your country.

There are people in the world who experience a level of destitution that you will never see. Some of them try to drag themselves out of it by risking a hazardous journey to the US. It is unlikely you will ever be as desperate as them. I'm not asking you to welcome all these strangers with open arms. Yes, I know that would encourage more and more to come and I agree that all countries need to control their borders. All I'm saying is that in blaming these people for being law breakers you are willfully choosing to blame victims. They are not necessarily victims of you, or of Trump, but they are victims. Denying them water in the desert in the hope that their deaths will discourage others is heinous.

They do have a choice, or choices. But none of them are good choices. So they decide from among the bad choices available to them. It's a gamble, a life and death gamble. Breaking US law is only a small factor for them in the decision. Getting up on your high horse about the morality of illegal border crossing is simply refusing to see the problem from both sides.

James Comey took a large pay cut become FBI director. But he was already doing fine in private practice as legal counsel for a hedge fund. He will make some cash from the book sales, no doubt. But I'll bet he'd rather not be in a position to have a book to write. The title of the book seems genuine to me. "A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies, and Leadership". Just because you don't like him does not make him a crook. Comey is scheduled to teach an ethical leadership course at the College of William & Mary in the state beginning next fall.
