No one wants to face the implications of this on skydiving tandem business. I don’t blame USPA for that. It’s not a skydiving issue, it’s a public health issue.

I know the feeling. I get the odd win, but that just makes me overconfident for a while till I error again. That's why I keep most of my savings in a hands off professionally managed fund and only play with a smaller portion.

I’m not an expert, but I was under the impression that influenza and common colds are all coronavirus.

No, this is not the same. I know that we all want to understand what is happening and we all need to compare it to what we already know by experience. But this is not the same as the 2009 event. Even though both involve a coronavirus. This is a full step up in severity of impact. This is not something any of us have seen before. The closest relatively similar event would be 1919. Luckily for us indications are that it is not going to be as bad as that. Wash your hands, practice social distancing. Keep you eyes on the ball and this too shall pass. But we are all going to be affected in some way far more than we were in 2009. Actually, we already have been.

Back in 2016 who knew that competence mattered when choosing a leader? Build a wall and keep out the dirty unwashed brown skinned job stealing foreigners. That's what mattered. Is America tired of surrealism in power yet?

Make up your mind. Is it a scare, a media event, or are people going to get sick and crash the economy? Go to Italy and ask a doctor if it's a media event. Open you freaking eyes. The economy is not going to crash. There will be a recession. This will be a setback, it is not an existential threat. And last of all, it is not a conspiracy against your beloved leader. If I can't work I have savings to fall back on. That's not what I was planning on spending them on, but what the hell, saving for a rainy day is part of being a responsible adult. I'm more worried about how my wife who is a nurse is going to be affected. So yes, I approve of the media spreading the word and doing what it can to lower the impact.

The markets are responding to uncertainty. Trump, and his very poor leadership is part of the uncertainty. Supply chains and economic activity in general have been and will increasingly be disrupted. The people and machines making buying and selling decisions are unsure what to do. Blaming the media is not helpful. The media is spreading the word about what is coming. This is a good thing in general because it will help slow the rate of infection and that will help the healthcare system cope by reducing the coming overload. Like other Trumpians you would appear to think that the media is the enemy. It is actually the greatest force in keeping our freedoms and preventing people like DJT from becoming Putin or Stalin like figures. You would do well to learn to broaden your perspective and learn to respect the best part of the US constitution, which is of course the mighty 1st amendment.

My first wife was the girl next door. She wanted to try skydiving so we both did. After that marriage fell apart I met my current wife at the DZ. I’ve not spent a night in a hospital since I was 10. But there was a cute nurse there that I sort of remember.

My second and current wife is a nurse and a skydiver. My ex wife is an ex skydiver and a retired nurse. I am a man of habit.
