Equal Rights, Equal Responsibilities. No More, No Less
gowlerk replied to winsor's topic in Speakers Corner
A very broad statement of ideas and grievances. With absolutely no examples and no real justifications. At least you got some of your anger out. But it leaves me to ask, WTF are you talking about? -
Two words. Stephen. Miller.

I spend a lot of time in MN and WI. I listen to NPR. You know, when in Hell do as the Hellions do.

I've been traveling around the midwest in my truck. What I have observed is that people I see will wear their mask at work because they need to if they want to keep their jobs. People will wear masks in stores that make it clear that it is mandatory. Some people will wear masks everywhere in public, but most will not unless they have to. At home I regularly see people walking on the street with masks on. ( Not me, that is just plain unneeded) Compliance is nearly universal indoors. In America I would say compliance is in the neighbourhood of 50% at best where it is not mandatory.

Thems fighin' words right there dude. You are overlooking the need for ballots to be BOTH secret and secure. You can't have both along with accountability without physical ballots.

It's actually more of a Paul Ryan/Scott Walker, WI R party story to me. I've been watching it unfold for years.
-
I would call Vietnam a greater self inflicted wound than Trump. And the D party inflicted it.

That is not correct. Test results are a signal, but hospitalizations and deaths are what moves public officials to close things down. The test results are meaningless when the testing system becomes overwhelmed. But dead people do not lie, and hospital capacity being reached scares everyone who thinks about what it means.

SHIT Joe, I have to know, did you come up with that one yourself?

I'd cut him if he stands, and I'd shoot him if he'd run Yes I'd kill him with my Bible and my razor and my gun

Or, perhaps She wants him to live long enough to feel the pain of the biggest defeat evah.

Another record federal deficit adds $3.1T to the debt

Because Rushmc is retired and someone had to pick up the torch. -
Big deal. Polls measure voter intentions. Elections measure the votes that are allowed to be counted. There will be no D senator from GA or D electoral college votes. That is not the GA way. https://www.npr.org/2020/10/17/924527679/why-do-nonwhite-georgia-voters-have-to-wait-in-line-for-hours-too-few-polling-pl

Ugh Joe.....WWG1WGA It's a mantra. Not that mantras are part of the Christian mythology.

I can't resist this trending meme. Sorry.

The energy used to fight gravity to go up will be available on descent. It would be the same as Mexican overdrive in a truck. Coming down faster will just make it available in a shorter period of time. As long as the batteries can take a charge fast enough that is. I have no real knowledge of that.

There is no military attache following Moscow Mitch around with a case full of codes. There is only one Commander in Chief. As I'm sure even Sasse knows. It's good for him that he has excuses at the ready though.

Realistically they see this a poison pill. This was done deliberately in an effort to make spending on anything but the military industrial complex more difficult. Paul Ryan achieved his goal. -
I would interpret this as analogous to rats fleeing a sinking ship. Sasse has known what he knows for a long time. Suddenly he has courage for some reason.

Are you locked and loaded? Don't do anything stupid. Nerves of steel. Remember your training. Godspeed and stay safe.

They should try posting here. We accept all sorts of nonsense.
-
Maybe so, I'm not going to argue one way or the other over the legalities. But I would never send an aircraft up without adequate fuel to fly the load plus enough to get to an alternate strip in case something closes the field, plus a reserve on top of that.

I did not. But everyone else at the DZ did. We are open 2 more weekends and no one has gotten sick yet. But in the last 3 weeks COVID has been pretty much exploding here in Winnipeg. After a long summer of very little cases. I have been avoiding going there for the last while. And I am the OPs manager. I advised that we should close because there is not a lot to gain this late in the season, but a lot to lose if we start getting sick. Very few people agreed with me. New restrictions were just announced this afternoon in our area. But the actual DZ is just outside the boundaries of the restrictions....... Edit to add My wife has 2000+ jumps and is also a nurse. She is really missing the DZ but has stayed away all season long because she did not think it was responsible to go there. She did not ask me to refrain from tandems or jumping, but I know she appreciates that I did.

Well.... after the midterm in 2010 there was this guy, from Moscow I think, who was the Senate Majority Leader. And he did announce that he would do everything in his power to thwart anything Obama tried to do. And he was pretty good at doing just that. Except for keeping Obama as a one term POTUS that is. He failed there.
