Funny you mention that, I had to go to a vendors website yesterday and launched IE only to discover that the home page was set to some place I've never visited and I had some bookmarks I'd not set. ..................oh. Thats crap. TV's got them images, TV's got them all, nothing's shocking.

??? there are features on this site that dont work in Firefox? (I've never seen it in IE so I can't tell what is missing). Can't really speak for the cursor focus thing as I haven't seen any problems that way. Site renders and works perfectly (except for whatever missing functionality you're referring to, that I obviously dont miss). Plugins? Obviously I'm missing a great deal of the intarweb as I currently have 0 plugins installed except a default install of flash. TV's got them images, TV's got them all, nothing's shocking.

Um. No. Open Source != more securely coded. Better maintained, faster bug fixes, faster security patches. The community is generally more reactive than MS in fixing things, but it would be a great stretch to claim it was secure. Please check out this post (first easy to read article found that looks accurate): comparison of IE and Firefox It is not faster either, it's page rendering is different than IE which gives the impression it's a faster browser. however, it is more stable, more friendly, less integrated into the OS and a kick ass product. I've been using FF back when it had its first name and compiling the dailies was worthwhile so dont mistake me for an MS fanboy :) TV's got them images, TV's got them all, nothing's shocking.

Would you mention that you are a skydiver?

nah, just that you said at the least you'd be labeled as such and I hadn't been. Then again I dont work in large companies where I'd meet people who would be blown away by the concept of being around a real skydiver. urm, actually Im the token normal/sane guy here...which says a great deal about the company I work for. suuuuuuuuuuuuuure. Are you speaking from personal experience? As I said earlier, it came up in my interview and hasn't been mentioned since (except in the form of bonuses and time off). Of course, I'm known around the office as [anything but a skydiving] guy. So it's prolly somewhere on the list after 'asshole'. TV's got them images, TV's got them all, nothing's shocking. -

Pitt seems to alternate between extreme suckage and extremely interesting - for every 12 Monkeys and Fight Club there's Seven (doing his Keanuweenie impersonation) and urm, everything else he's ever been in. Bale's welsh, went to school in the south of england. Was the kid in Empire of the Sun and was insanely good as Patrick Bateman in American Psycho. Robin Williams is a horribly shitty actor - who simply does simpering fawning Sympathy guy or bounce around and ad lib happy guy. Except for the one where he was a robot, but I thank the director for that. Otherwise he's shitty. TV's got them images, TV's got them all, nothing's shocking.

Urm...leave your job and find a better one? I'm sorry, I have a tough time understanding feeling trapped in a job. There's always other top firms and theres always professional ways to switch jobs. (my view is tainted by having watched a loved one go through 2 years of harassment in the workplace while refusing to accept the fact they didnt have to stay there and that other places would readily hire them - and eventually found a perfect new job in less than a month, once they realized they could switch with no damage to their career) When I die I hope that they talk about my life and hobbies rather than what a great employee I was. 1.st. Only a dime a dozen if you're average. 2.nd. I wouldnt work for a company that had a culture that wouldnt accept that sort of thing - I get far more comments about the professional wrestling than I ever do about skydiving (because I get injured far more frequently due to it). With that out of the way, here's the benefits - All spot bonuses are paid in jump tickets - I paid for 3 of the 25 jumps I got in this year. I am that damn good (at my job). Flexible hours - Fridays off and "working at the wireless enabled DZ" passes for those perfect weather days. So overall I cant think of a negative...but like I said, I'm in a pretty unique position as far as my career goes. TV's got them images, TV's got them all, nothing's shocking. -

I'm not sure what type of job you're interviewing for, but like someone mentioned earlier if it's something you're going to be making fast decisions in high pressure environments it can be a useful thing to mention. I usually work on systems that demand high performance and the 9s as far as reliability, when they crash the company loses $10ks per minute, so hiring people who can think clearly under pressure is paramount. When I got this current job I was just finishing AFF, so when the questions turned towards 'explain how you keep a cool head under pressure' it was pretty easy to talk about the various aspects of the course and how it related to what would be expected in my role. It wasnt about bragging and I didnt mention it in any other interviews I was having at the time, in that case it was simply the right example for the right audience. If it really illustrates something about you specifically I dont see an issue, but I'm not sure saying your'e a skydiver without context really gives an employer the impression of anything other than you're an crazy person who likes to jump out of planes (unless they're also involved in the sport).
