Jo often threatens litigation but she never sues. Never will. Galen and I are lawyers. There may be others here lurking. We never threaten fellow Cooper nuts with lawsuits. Why do you think that is? 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

Wonder where they jumped? Amazon would have done the jump free. I'd be on the ground cheering her on. I prefer DZ landings. Never done a wilderness jump. Landed in a shopping center parking lot once. Did you have to make a bet with Pete to get his signature? 377 Nope. Here is the pic of him signing it. I have this picture on my facebook page and the caption reads: "Me getting to meet one of Baseballs greats and one of my favorite players of all time, Pete Rose. It looks like he's signing an autograph, but he's actually helping me with my parlay picks." Back to the Cooper 20, I know Ingram has sold several of them. Any guess as to how many he has left? I know Brian still has quite a few but he never did say what the number remaining was. If they find the rest of the loot, the value of the Tina bar money will plummet. I wonder what odds Pete Rose would give me on that? 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

Jo wrote Jo, Don't you think that is a biased overstatement? 377 PS: I really liked Meyer Louie's and Robert 99's Tena Bar site visit. Finally a break in personal attacks and a return to real feet on the ground investigation. How refreshing and uplifting. 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. WA State History Museum wrote asking if I would lend my Cooper twenty for display in their Cooper exibit. Of course I said yes. Yeah. I also think Dan's number one DBC candidate is McCoy. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

Last I heard about Dan he was being charged with something like assault by DC 3 allegedly trying to run over an overzealous cop with his Douglas. I later heard he beat the case. He still owes us his promised revelation of DBCs ID. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

BK wrote Bob, You weren't in the military correct? This wasnt a court martial, correct? So how does a "commander" sentence you to four years in prison? Law and parachuting are subjects I know something about. Ive been a jumper since 68 and a lawyer since 75. Still active in both. Your story about Duane making the jump with a chest mount reserve affixed to the back of a main bailout rig is not credible. Every jumper and rigger on this forum shares my opinion. It makes zero sense and wouldn't work. I'll let you explain the legal process that allegedly resulted in your four year sentence but it sure looks improbable at first glance. I await further details about this matter. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

If Sheridan Peterson had blues eyes and a solid Nepal alibi why did the FBI visit him again and insist on a DNA sample? 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

Explain that in more detail - please for the novices on the thread. I found this very interesting - perhaps because I don't have a damn clue what you are talking about. Jo, It's all about whether you could use the chest mount reserve attachment clips to attach the reserve to the main harness without clipping to D rings. There were no D rings on Coopers main rigs so Amazon was speculating about whether the reserve clips could just be attached on the nylon webbing of the main chute harness. I was unable to do this, the webbing volume was too large, but Amazon says that she has seen larger reserve clips that may have been able to clip into the main harness webbing successfully. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Blevins wrote That doesnt mean much. I know some DZs and clubs from that era who wouldnt have ratted out a fellow jumper even if he showed up with 200,000 in twenties a few days after the skyjack. He'd have to buy beer for the rest of his days though. It was a different scene in the late 60s and early 70s. No tandems. Very few if any outsiders at a DZ on any given weekend especially if it was in a rural area. Jumpers formed a very close knit group. It's different now. Not necessarily worse, just different. Can I get an amen from Guru and Airtwardo on this? 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

The smart thing he did to discourage sabotaged chutes was to request two of each. It gave the impression that he might force a crew member to jump. Sure wish we knew for sure whether Tina saw him remove the packing card from an NB 6 or NB 8. If Cooper did that without fumbling around then he very likely was familiar with that rig type. The money find drives me nuts. I cant figure it out. I stare at my Cooper twenty and wish I could cross examine it. They say money talks. This twenty has apparently taken the fifth. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

Amazon wrote I tried it Amazon, hoping to demo this at the Portland symposium, and it was a no go. NB 8 webbing even when rolled was too big to fit within my 60s vintage military chest reserve attachment clips. If the clips were just a bit bigger it might work. Catching any big salmon this season? Been some hot King Salmon bites 14 miles off the coast, SE of the Farallon Islands, big ones. Blue whales are wowing tourists in Monterey Bay. Many people don't know that they are the largest animal that has lived on Earth. Most think dinosaurs were way bigger. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Georger wrote There are two alleged facts that point to Cooper having parachute experience, but alas neither can be confirmed as accurate. 1. Cooper located and examined the packing card on the NB 8 rig. 2. Cooper donned the NB 8 rig with ease. Doesn't matter if it was actually an NB 6 for the purpose of this discussion. NB 8 rigs have a VERY well concealed packing card pocket. At the Portland symposium I challenged a non jumper to find it on my stock NB 8 and he was stumped. When I asked another to put the NB 8 on and fasten the straps he had a hell of a time figuring it out. The chest strap arrangement is confusing and even I had trouble the first time I encountered an NB 8. Can I get an amen Amazon? 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Since the main rigs didnt have D rings to attach a reserve to, what difference does it make which reserve Cooper opened and cut up? There was no way Cooper could have used a reserve to jump unless he brought some carabiners or similar attachment hardware aboard. Am I missing something? Jo, I read your entire post and still am left wondering what, if any, new facts you have uncovered. You do seem to be happier and for that I am glad. Did the FBI actually interview the physician who was present at the birth of Sheridan's daughter in Nepal? I just wonder how solid his alibi was. If the alibi was rock solid why did the FBI return and insist on a DNA test? I bet Sheridan reads this forum. I'd love to talk to him. If the FBI has ruled him out on DNA what is he worried about? Sheridan and I share the experience of jumping in the early days of the sport and it would be fun to talk to him about his exploits. I'd be especially interested in hearing about his homemade wingsuit jumps. That was ballsy as hell back then. I have a book entitled BIRDMEN, all about batwing and wingsuit jump pioneers. It was a deadly game and many jumpers died trying new concepts. Sheridan was a true pioneer in extreme skydiving. He thought outside of the box and was apparently a fearless experimenter. How about it Sheridan? I'm not FBI or CIA, just an old jumper like you. PM me and let's talk. I'll buy us a nice meal in Healdburg or Windsor and some good wine and we can talk about the good old days of round chutes, iron men and crazy risks. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Same runway approach (28), same airport (SFO). foggy though. Once they got below 300 ft they had 3/4 mile visibilty, but splashed 2.5 miles short of runway 28. A friend who flew DC 8s for JAL told me that the procedure for initiating a coupled ILS approach with the DC 8 autopilot of that era was unusual in that you had to descend slightly below the glide slope, climb into it and engage the coupler. If you tried it from above, the autopilot would not hold the glide slope. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

Jo wrote You sure are right about arrowheads Jo. I found many. They used to have a nice DZ here with (E town outskirts) a DH Beaver jumpship. It's gone now. I really liked that plane. Beautiful country here. Forested knobs (hills), limestone springs, pretty creeks with clean water. Crops need no irrigation. Rain takes care of that. Drainage not supply is the issue. Jo, you really work against yourself by holding back selected facts. It allows cherry picking and presenting only what supports your theory. Full disclosure seems impossible for you. There's always the tease, the bait, the unfulfilled multiple promises of blockbuster info soon to be revealed. Been raining steady for 3 days and nights which is a disaster for the current grain harvest. Guess that's what you buy crop insurance for. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. I'm celebrating the 4th in KY right where Jo grew up. They actually let you buy and use fireworks here. In KY the legal fireworks can only maim. You have to drive to TN to get the hard stuff that can kill. I see the right to bear fireworks as a serious civil rights issue. They'll get my M80s when they pry them from my cold dead hands. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
