You have become the 727 Research Queen Orange. I have seen (but am unable to currently locate) a video or perhaps just a still of a cargo jet in the air with a big side freight door wide open. It landed safely. I think it was taken in FLA, might have been a Convair 880. Snow will likely find it it 2 microseconds if he is so inclined. The US Navy found a UAL 747 cargo door that blew out over the open ocean 60 miles offshore from HI. Talk about finding a needle in a haystack. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. I see three Cooper suspects in that photo! Damn, I didnt know the black helos had stews. Looks like she was recruited from PSA. Remember their uniforms? They could go from the plane to their second gig at a strip club and not have to change outfits. I just reread the Ten Commandments and no, not the Bill Clinton translation. There is some wiggle room about impure thoughts, especially if she is not your brother's wife. Come on Georger. Admit to some purely hypothetical carnal thinking. Jimmy Carter did... sort of. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

Tom, Thanks for the update and sharing of your prelim. test schedules. Those of us (like me) with short attention spans will just have to be patient. I am wondering whether your tests can answer the basic question as to the truthfulness of the Ingram's account of the money find circumstances? I am not sure it can. If your tests indicate that the money shows signs of very recent non natural burial at the Tena Bar site, it does not say who buried it. I guess if you can show that it was never buried at Tena Bar, then we might assume that the entire find story was fabricated, but I think the kid's testimony is believeable. I just keep thinking that the kid was subtly led to the dig site. Just a nagging hunch. Who ever thought you could find pieces of Mars sitting on top of ice in the Antarctic, but it is true. The Tena Bar money find , as unlilkely as it seems, could have happened just as reported, at least from what we know now. You may know different. Whether Africa, Canada, Asia etc if Cooper were living abroad and just came into the US briefly to do the hijack that could explain a few things about why he wasn't suspected by US coworkers, friends, neighbors etc. Also if he were living in a cheap country his spending might not have changed in any huge way post hijack. He could blend right back into the expat scene he was in previously. What was Coopers grudge? How did the hijack address the grudge? I've assumed that it had little to do with the grudge or that the loot was going to be used to address the grudge. Anybody have some new ideas about what Cooper's grudge was? I have been scanning old posts for clues that Brian was directed to the dig spot by one of the adults but found nothing solid. Some very crude statistical calcs makes the find extraordinarily unlikely since it was a random dig not based on a surface clue. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Wasnt there some story about Cooper actually being a woman? Maybe we are looking at the wrong gender. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

:) yeah, and at DZ.com how come it seems like the stories always end with a successful coupling. Man, you skydivers are good! Used to be that just being an ordinary skydiver got women interested. Nowdays its like: "sigh, pause, yawn... so do you BASE JUMP?" Those base jumpers really ruined the market. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

We now have a real DIRIGIBLE (not a Blimp) operating tourist flights out of Moffett Field in Sunnyvale CA. Local skydivers are already hatching schemes to jump it (no hijacking involved, just lots of money). I think rides (about an hour) are $495 per person. Want to read a really weird blimp story? http://weirdworldnews.blogspot.com/2005/09/crash-of-navy-blimp-l-8-mystery.html I once paid $350 to jump out of a B 24 bomber. How deranged is that? 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

Hey, who ever thought Patty Hearst would join her SLA kidnappers in robbing the Hibernia Bank in SF? Maybe Cooper's "deranged" mind was hoping for an accelerated Stockholm Syndrome situation? I can see him thinking: "I really dig Tina. We'll parachute into the wilderness together, build a hut and start a new life." Georger, haven't you had similar thoughts when on a long flight and being served your fourth bourbon by a gorgous flight attendant? 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. I didn't know skydiving ever took place in San Jose other than possible air show demos. I started jumping in 68 in the Bay Area (Calif Parachute Club, Livermore CA) and heard old timers mention all the old DZs. Never heard SJ mentioned once. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. my profile says nothing about mental health or tech expertise: local connections Boeing info connections (needn't be a Boeing engr) skydiver/smoke jumper/paratrooper and maybe SE Asia experience. Georger, what facts make you so sure Cooper was "deranged"? What evidence do you have on this? 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

Cooper did get the stairs down. Nobody was back there to watch him lower them so how do we know for sure how much difficulty he had? How about you Georger? Do you think Cooper gambled that he could jump the 727 or knew for sure that he could, including lowering the stair in flight if necessary? Broad theorizing and speculation is is OK here in my opinion. What else can we do in the absence of solid evidence as to Cooper's ID? I am not saying Cooper participated in the Air America drops, but knowing about them would have given him some very valuable info and could have even been the initial spark for the Norjack idea. What "hard facts" do you think I am failing to acount for? 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

Looking further I see it was actually Orange1 who first posted a link to the CIA-Boeing 727 airdrop mod info. WAY TO GO ORANGE!!! I tried several times to get info from Don Kirlin who battled the FAA for a long time to get approval for 727 skydives at WFFC. I understand that he got engineering data from Boeing to make his case for safety. I never received a reply. Maybe I didnt have the right email addresses. We haven't got closer to identifying Cooper but we have established that the circle of people who knew 727s could be jumped was larger than previously thought. I bet a lot of guys in Nam knew about the drops, especially skydivers. Word always gets out when a new plane is jumped. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Could "greasy" and "oddly black" descriptions be consistent with a cheap wig/hairpiece? Now THAT would surely have blown off during the jump. A bald guy walking around that night might not have aroused suspicion since he would not match the hijacker's description. Logic would dictate some sort of disguise beyond the sunglasses. A wig would be ideal if you were balding. Easily removed and instant transformation into someone who would not match the suspect's description. Would Cooper have been crazy enough to use no disguise other than the shades? The Cooper sketch showed up in newspapers and magazines all around the world and that was forseeable. If you were Cooper returning to your prior life you would not want to match any sketches of the suspect. You wouldn't want a Beatles wig that screamed fake. A high hairline wig/hairpiece would be ideal. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

Very interesting Snowmman. Good job. You dig deep every time, finding the veins of gold that I so often miss in my superficial Googling. This is the first solid info I have seen on who ordered the airdrop capability mods on 727s and I have been looking for a long time. The article mentions an enlarged exit which raises an interesting issue. Even if Cooper knew that the Boeing modified 727s could do airdrops, would that also mean that an unmodified passenger 727 could also do it? Might there be a door interlock that was disabled for the airdrop mod? To me that points back to Cooper having access to some Boeing info. I think he KNEW FOR SURE that the passenger 727 could be jumped. Just knowing that modifed Air America 727s could do it wouldn't be enough. If he had a good connection to Boeing info he'd know that the mods (enlarged exit, etc) were not essential for airdrop capability but just enhanced it. Show me: local area connections paratrooper/smoke jumper/skydiver Boeing connection Appropriate age and appearance and maybe add SE Asia experience Couldn't be more than a hundred suspects matching these criteria. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. The Homeland Security grants make Air America look like it was run by Mother Theresa. Billions down the drain. One that just kills me is when major bucks go to backwoods police departments for full on counter terrorism SWAT stuff including armored assault vehicles, FLIRS, etc. Oh yeah, they can attack anywhere so ya gotta spend EVERYWHERE. Speaking of end of the world messages, those among us who are short wave listeners recall the voice code broadcasts to USAF SAC bombers on HF radio that started with "Sky King Sky King do not answer" and then a series of letters spoken phonetically like Alpha Foxtrot Victor etc. B 52s also had RTTY for receiving messages in text. One day the bombers aloft get a priority message "do not eat the salami". The bombers must maintain radio silence to avoid detection so they cannot inquire further. They go nuts trying to decode it, but it is not in the days code book. Turned out the box lunches sent up with them contained tainted salami. Good thing they didn't go Dr Strangelove on us. BY WHO? I havent noticed that you take instructions from anyone Jo. Are you going to follow the "instructions"? BTW you really do have Snowmann and Georger figured out wrong. They won't be disappointed about any developments that have solid evidence behind them, even if they come from you. They just get irritated at unsubstantiated gigantic leaps of faith with nothing solid to back them up. It is a H U G E leap to go from Duane sold insurance for a JMWave owned/affiliated company to Duane was Cooper. You'd need the Golden Gate Bridge to cross that gap. Even with the Air America films, there is not one speck of evidence that puts Duane in a chute. If you have it, show it. Still, I do welcome your participation in the forum and am happy that you get some satisfaction from the recent 727 jump revelations. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. No, I don't. My Auditor tells me that it is a church not a cult. He has the IRS documents to prove it. It's nice to have Tom Cruise and John Travolta as fellow parishioners. My paycheck goes straight to the church but that's OK. They really need the money to fight psychiatric tyranny. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver.
