Got into a motorcycle accident, need insurance help
LongWayToFall replied to LongWayToFall's topic in The Bonfire
Ok, so 2 days ago I was riding home and making a left turn, when a guy who was pulling out where I was turning in didn't see me, and ran into the ride of me, throwing me off the bike. The bike is pretty tore up, although probably not salvaged. I first thought after the accident that my left ankle was broken, but x rays showed that it was only a bad sprain. My shoulder and other areas are pretty swollen and hurtin too. So, how does all this insurance thing work? I talked to my insurance lady, and they want me to call their insurance and tell my side of the story, I guess they are going to pay for the repair, medical bills, lost pay, and pain and suffering. How do you put a price on pain and suffering anyways? Right now I am working a part time job, and also help my friend out with some real estate management stuff that he gives me cash for. How do I go about proving how much I should be taking in for the week or 2 weeks I am on crutches and not able to walk? Can I even collect on the side job because I have no pay stub or anything to prove what I make? I refused the ambulance and got a ride to the hospital because I know how expensive they are, and I wasn't bleeding out or anything. I figured this might score me some brownie points with the guy's insurance. Anyways, if anyone has gone through this stuff before please give me an idea of what I am looking at, I am worried if I tell their insurance the wrong thing on the phone it will screw me up. -
All the ones near us are busted. I have seen some online that are much more massive, maybe they are easier to maintain than a bunch of smaller ones, but I still think they are not very practical.

California's budget. YOU decide how to make up the deficit
LongWayToFall replied to LongWayToFall's topic in Speakers Corner
The more they burn, the more of an example they set for other states that are following CA's practices, I don't mind seeing the state go up in flames..... -
Its gotta be a good thing. When you can only find pre blended items, it makes it hard to select a proper blend for yourself. OCs are just oxycodone, and hydro is available with very little tylenol although not none as far as I know. Let people mix the pills themselves rather than burning up their liver. If anyone has any DANGEROUS vicodin or percocet they are looking to have professionally disposed of, I know a guy who can get it safely taken care of.

California's budget. YOU decide how to make up the deficit
LongWayToFall replied to LongWayToFall's topic in Speakers Corner
Yeah, I wish I knew more about the exact details. I do know that there is only one place to put the blame, and that is the voters and elected leaders of California. If the state is going to burn, so be it, I am not a fan of the federal government bailing out states who cannot control spending. -
California's budget. YOU decide how to make up the deficit

The way I found this interactive thing is a page talking about state parks being closed. I guess the plan would be to cut state funding to the parks, and have them operate completely on funds from entrance fees. So they would still be open, but I don't see how it could last, because so many of them have hardly any visitors and generate a very small amount of money as it is, and when they jack up the entrance fee to $50 a person, nobody will be there. -

Here is a cool interactive thing I found which allows you to select what cuts and tax increases you want in order to recover the deficit. So, what did you do? http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-statebudget-fl-2,0,6957202.htmlstory -
Damn. Just saw them in concert at shoreline the friday before memorial day. They played great, but didn't play closer, which was a let down.

IMO the picture isn't putting black people in a negative context, rather it is making a joke of the color of their skin. Much like you could make a joke about rednecks and duct tape, or mexicans eating beans and rice. These aren't attacks on a race, just observing traits and making jokes about it. This is not to say whether the joke is or is not in bad taste, just the principal. Here is an honest to god story: I was at a party once where the only light in the room was a black (UV) light, emitting very little light to see by. All of a sudden, this white T shirt comes around the corner and floats into the room. For a second it really was tripping me out, but I realized after a moment that it was a black person. This was quite comical to me at the time, although I wasn't shouting out what I saw so as not to offend the guy or anybody else. Does this make me a racist because I found that the color of someones skin provided me with a laugh? I think not.

Moral of the story: Butterfingers and climbing don't mix.

Legal Problems with selling Jet Ski!! HELP!!!
LongWayToFall replied to markovwgti's topic in The Bonfire
Should have made a bill of sale. I wouldn't pay unless required to by the court, because if his buddy does the motor work for him it won't cost hardly anything and he will be making some cash. Should have made a bill of sale. -

It has been on ongoing issue for pot clubs since the beginning of the medical pot laws. Feds have raided many many clubs in the area. Right now, clubs are indeed paying taxes on the bud, although I am not sure at what level. Pot clubs continue to thrive though, and seeing how easy it is to get approved for medical pot, they might as well make it legal for all. In the early 2000s the system was run with county based cards, namely San Fran and East Bay, with many more down south as well. Right now, there is a state issued card, no more county cards anymore. This is good in that it makes it easier for POs to identify the cards, however many are concerned about lasting consequences with having their name on a list that basically proves they are breaking a federal law. Getting rid of the cards altogether, I believe, is certainly allowing more freedom. I don't approve of having pot for sale in every store, like tobacco. It just doesn't seem appealing to me at all. However, allowing people to use the pot clubs already in existence without a medical card seems very reasonable. I think each club should establish their own "member" system, with no database, and leave the government out of it. I'm not down with seeing people smoking joints while walking down the street, just like I don't want to see someone slugging on a 5th of whisky at a bus stop. But what you do in your own house that doesn't affect me, is not my damn business in the slightest.

Man. I thought the forums were pretty entertaining, personally. Did you check out the thread about the dude putting energy drink in his motorcycle's gas tank? That is some quality shit right there.

Damn. I can not see a single situation that would make me want to quit riding motorcycles. Wife up and decides to leave if I don't quit riding? Goodbye. Best friend killed riding? Time to go for a ride to celebrate his life. Riding and skydiving are the 2 things I live for, I'll do em till I am dead! Why did you trade in motorcycle riding for skydiving anyways? It's not like skydiving is so much safer or anything. If you want to minimize your motorcycle risks, don't ride in heavy traffic. Buy a dirt bike, or get on the track.

2 hours? damn, how late were you? I remember in high school going from asleep to out the door in about 3-4 minutes, and then a 10 minute high speed motorcycle ride and I was there. going 80mph is a good way to wake up in the morning!

Ha, I just bought a new copy on ebay for 6 bucks including shipping. Kick ass

Travis is certainly a topic of discussion, but a jackass? I don't think so. -
I called awhile ago, and I think they said one of the engines needs an overhaul, and they had no idea when to expect it flying again.
