Hope you didn't take me the wrong way. That show is funny though, in the fact that you can never predict what the patient's problem is, because it involves some crazy medical big words and makes you feel like you are dumb. But then house is taking vicodin, which makes no sense.

What did/do you do in remembrance of 9/11?
LongWayToFall replied to k-dubjumps's topic in The Bonfire
I am leaving in an hour to go on a motorcycle ride with (supposedly) 250-300 other bikes up to San Francisco. They are going to close down some streets for us to ride on, should be pretty neat. -
That show is a crock of shit, any doctor knows that vicodin has a high level of acetaminophen compared to the hydrocodone, you are better off with other things. For me, I feel it coming on in about 30 min, and feel great for the next hour. After that, you start coming down and have a no nonsense attitude, and if you are talking with someone it is a very frank and upfront convo. During this period, tobacco products are a must. Somewhere around 4-5 hours after taking it, you get a sleepy spell that last about an hour, but afterward you are fine. Sleep is hard, and instead the time is best spent working on something, you have energy and no laziness at all, so it is a good time to clean your house or something. The key to sleeping when you are coming down, is either time your bedtime to the 1 hour tired window, or if you miss it, you MUST calm your mind down. I find my myself pondering complex thoughts and ideas making it impossible to get tired. Oh, and as someone else mentioned, stool softener is a good idea as well. Hope this is helpful for someone!

Books into Films .... which worked for you?
LongWayToFall replied to shropshire's topic in The Bonfire
No Fight Club fans? The movie is unique in that it is partially in the first person, which gives you a great perspective and makes the movie what it is. I didn't like the movie the first time I saw it, it took a few viewings to really appreciate it. Read the book recently, and it is great. They differ somewhat, and when you read/watch both it fills in allot. The movie was actually a dying man's last wish, and when you read the book you see how much of an effort it took to form the movie. Lots of times when I get sick of life and the world we live in, I'll watch the movie and it hits the reset button on me, and I am born again. -
Cars over the pond have no suspension, and extended trips have a bounce-stretch effect. Still, I'd hit it!

Just picked this baby up about 2 weeks ago. Less than 10,000 miles, in mint shape. I am so stoked! It hauls ass, and the brakes and handling are stellar. This isn't my exact bike, but looks just like it. Got hit by a car while riding a Buell XB12S, and the insurance helped to pay for it. Concrete slip and slide= No fun. SV650s are excellent bikes, glad to see a few on here. Helped my brother install an Ohlins rear shock and new front springs on his '03, and he is out doing a track day right now actually. Ride safe all! http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/4d/2001_Honda_RC51_SP1.jpg

Does Madonna still do it for you? (or did she ever?)
LongWayToFall replied to skymama's topic in The Bonfire
I was watching an old movie the other day on TV, with sean penn about him being in china. There was a hot blond girl in the film that I was totally into, and at the end credits I find out it is madonna. Crazy! She was for sure hot back in the day. http://www.agonyboothmedia.com/images/articles/Shanghai_Surprise_1986/Shanghai_Surprise_1986_000.jpg The film sucked though. -
Lodi During Winter Months

Well if the ceiling is low, you can always do hop and pops. $5 each, and 3 slots to get it moving (you can go by yourself for $15). -
Got my second pinball machine with skydiving!
LongWayToFall replied to DrewEckhardt's topic in The Bonfire
Hey I think I played that one. Can you get an option where you race a motorcycle on the little screen, and use the paddles to turn? When I last went to the bar where it was at, it was gone and replaced with a golf game. FUCKING WEAK!!! -
Kick ass.

Spiders must die. To me, it is as necessary as eating food or something. Its like a game at the same time. The more flammable the liquid used to burn the spider, and the longer the spider runs around while on fire, the more points you get. Use caution though, in an effort to top the scales my buddy almost burned down his house using carburetor cleaner. The fireball was MASSIVE

In the future, squirrels have devised a new method of digging holes to bury their nuts.

If you aad only has a couple years left on it, it wouldn't be a bad idea to get a new one, you save money in the long run (check out vigils as well). Maybe get some nice fitting and durable goggles, light and medium warmth gloves, better shoes, etc. Lots of little things that help out more than you think

Larsen and Brusgaard ROCKS!
LongWayToFall replied to rredman's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I haven't had to use their customer service but it is partially the reason I bought their gear, rock on. -
I recently went from a pd210 to a sabre 2 190. The pd210 has excellent openings, and at my wing loading (somewhere around 1.2:1) it was zippy under canopy and fun to fly, although the thing that left me wanting more was the flare. It was adequate, but not like the long lasting flare of the sabre 2. My PD was around 100 jumps, so it was still fresh, if it has much more than that it will be a handful on landing. Give it a shot, make sure no wind and not ideal conditions will be no problem and if it checks out I say go for it!!! (I suggest a good one direction roll on the nose to slow it down a tad, even with, I was getting about 400-500ft openings) Rock on F111

Mornin to ya'll. I am excited, I leave on a 10 day trip to colorado tomorrow morning, and we are staying the night in las vegas! Just a one night party, should be interesting. If I don't post for a long while it is because I lost all of my money and couldn't pay the internet bill....

I got a chance to see a U-2 from the air once, I was flying in my dad's cessna and it flew right underneath us at a fairly close range. It is a cool looking airplane, that is for sure. My brother's friend's Dad is an ex SR-71 pilot with many hours, listening to him talk about the airplane is totally kick ass. I was actually on the same load as him for his very first skydive! If you dig spyplane development you gotta check out the book called skunk works.

White Widow, now there is a classic. WW is to our generation what skunk was to the 80s, almost. Ever try Peak 19? Hands down my fav of all time, although I have only sampled a couple batches and the latter ones were not that great. That first one though... Wow. Purple Urkle, Trainwreck, Blue Dot, Hindu Kush, California Big Bud, Kali Mist..... All very well suited to high traffic areas.

I saw that scene on monster garage, my dad and I thought how much all the paint and other junk must have screwed up the crucible. Do you just crank it up and burn it off? What about the aluminum and other metals? Cool job you have.
