Always insomnia....... Not really asleep, and not really awake.... ugh. The add is just some spammer, but they can be entertaining in a whack sort of way. Alright, I'm off to the land of fairies and hookah smoking creatures which are on mushrooms. Sweet.

Who is the most inspirational Dz.Commer?
LongWayToFall replied to d_squared431's topic in The Bonfire
Don't know too many dz.commers offline, but as far as solid and real advice, Tom Buchanan, NickDG, and airtwardo have to be the top 3. Always giving lengthy, well thought out advice in a way that is easy to read. They keep it real! Thanks guys -
Question: Ever used Permatex Battery Sealer?
LongWayToFall replied to ltdiver's topic in The Bonfire
Don't know about battery sealer at all. Red usually means transmission fluid, although on top of the battery? No way. Usually if it runs fine, but only start ups are lousy, it means the battery is going. I would be worried about the goo, I would try cleaning it off and using a wire brush to clean the terminals and battery cables before I bought a new battery (which car parts places can usually test for you, for free). If it is interfering with the batteries connection, it could certainly cause your problems. -
I did my aff at skydive monterey bay, and it is a sweet drop zone because of, 1: 15,000 and 18,000 are all they go to, so you are gunna get some nice altitude. 2: The view is ultra kick ass. 3: the plane is fast as hell. Reasons why it probably won't be your home dz: Not very many fun jumpers. They run the airplane in lots of 3-4 loads at a time, and they are hot loads that pick up at the LZ (cameras pack at the lz, fun jumpers can also, but its not much fun) If you decide to pack at the hanger you may only get 1-3 jumps in per day. Monterey is a cool dz, don't get me wrong. But I will say, that Lodi is my home dz now and they do LOTS of loads!! P.S. Hollister is nearby as well, and I have not been there so I cannot comment although I hear that it is kick ass, and I am planning on going there soon. Moral of the story: Try em all!

anyone ride a motorcyle been hit with a lit cigarette?
LongWayToFall replied to loumeinhart's topic in The Bonfire
After many years of riding, I recently had the pleasant experience of having a wasp fly into my helmet, and sting me multiple times. No fun! I love having my visor open, but am always worried about road debris so usually it is down. This particular day I was wearing sunglasses, so the visor was up. Damn! -
Cyclists, is your front brake lever on your left or your right?
LongWayToFall replied to jcd11235's topic in The Bonfire
It is weird, because I ride a dirt bike that has been converted to an auto clutch (rekluse) so that there is no clutch lever, only brakes. I still am ingrained such that when I am on a bicycle, I expect rear wheel lock up with right lever, so when I get on my dirt bike I have to remember it for a second. But riding a normal street bike is no problem, clutch on left. I guess my brain is ok with remembering when I am on a bike or BIKE. -
Who would ever add Jose? What a disgusting alcohol. Why not just these 3, and leave it alone as 3 wise men? Even 3 wise men is a bit off on the taste.

What gives? America's cup is catamarans now?

And it was totally kick ass! The bikes are loud!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was worth it just for the noise. My friend and I got separated and during that time he saw Valentino and stood right next to him! What an unlucky bastard I am. O well, the race was very exciting and just being near the bikes and riders gave me a high. Was anyone else there? Or anyone overseas go to any other races?

Just fired up my smoker an hour ago (1am) to do a 10lb pork shoulder. Should be tasty! Done in 15 hours.....

Cool round! Alright, so I think an ideal setup would be the composite lower and a CAR upper 14.5 inch with fixed FH (making it 16 oal) without forward assist, and flat topped. As far as the hand guards go, I think just standard m4s would be fine, unless there are lighter ones that aren't expensive. Those ones you linked me to are a bit pricey, and the 2nd one is for full length, correct? I was hoping to do this project on the cheaper end, so any cash savings would be helpful. Any flip up sights you would recommend? What about good quality lower parts kits? Thanks again for your help.

Cool, I'll check out that lower. I need to do some research on the 6.5, does it have better energy/performance than the 5.56? I like the ability to fire the heavier bullets, 130 grains sounds nice. I will eventually get into reloading, the 300 whisper would pretty much require it, if I don't right away though is 6.5 easy to find? Thanks!

Well I was looking at uppers and came across a new round, called the .300 Fireball, that uses very large bullets shot at low velocities. Its main purpose is to be loaded subsonic and silenced, although you can put in more powder and lighter bullets and run them supersonic with good energy results at longer ranges as well, in fact more energy than the normal 5.56 delivers. My main purpose with this gun would be to build it as lightweight as possible, on every aspect. 16 inch barrel though, instead of 14.5 with fixed comp, is my only weight adder. So, what are the lightest barrels? Lowers? Hand guards? Stocks? I don't mind if it is a fixed stock. Anyways, let me know what you guys are thinking. My friend's ARs are so light, that I figured I would see how far I could push it......

California's budget. YOU decide how to make up the deficit
LongWayToFall replied to LongWayToFall's topic in Speakers Corner
I don't know where you are getting that if you cut every program you still need more, if you cut everything you certainly do get enough. You have to cut things like education and whatnot, but you can still do it. -
All it will mean is that people will turn to harder street drugs, or starts synthesizing it themselves with readily available poppy pods. It is nice knowing that your opiates come from a factory where they ensure that you are getting a certain amount, it prevents overdoses. The DEA needs to get their funding cut, they spend too much time busting people who aren't a danger to others.

Got into a motorcycle accident, need insurance help
LongWayToFall replied to LongWayToFall's topic in The Bonfire
Thanks everyone for the advice and well wishes. I am very, very fortunate that this was a minor accident. For just a moment between "nothing is wrong" and "I'm going to hit him" it was pretty terrifying. After the impact and flying off and hurting, it turned into just another dirt bike crash, but with harder ground, haha. Laying on pavement in pain, its funny that all you think about, is FUCK the bike is fucked up. DAMNIT. Police came and made a report, took pictures of the accident, had the little distance roller things out measuring, and whatnot. It is fairly cut and dry that its his fault, and I am sure the police report will reflect it. I think at this point I am just going to concentrate on healing up. When I am sure that I am better, than it will be time to figure out compensation for lost work and medical bills. I'll probably try to get the bike sorted out as soon as possible though. As far as lawyers, boy I sure do not want to involve them so I will see how far I can get without. If it had been a more serious accident than I would be more willing to give them a call. Right now all I want to do is get back on a bike! MotoGP is this weekend, looks like I'll have to cage it instead. Weak.
