There is a reason why Pro-Tecs are used in skydiving schools and ALWAYS recommended in these threads. Inveniam Viam aut Faciam I'm back biatches!

That is the same WL and size canopy I started with. What did you do? Can you give us details of the incident? Glad you're healed and jumping again Inveniam Viam aut Faciam I'm back biatches!

Would yoy want to jump something smaller, higher WL, and f111 for the very first time when you may be hurt, close to the ground and probably landing out? Inveniam Viam aut Faciam I'm back biatches!

I'm completely convinced that I;m watched 24/7. Whenever I'm trying to take a nap; I mean almost asleep; someone has to call me, or have the dog go nuts ,the doorbell, always something If there aren't cameras, God is just taunting me. Inveniam Viam aut Faciam I'm back biatches!

I know the icon keeps one under the 3-ring cover and I've seen them hanging from the chest strap. For those with Vector3 rigs, where do you keep your hook knives? Inveniam Viam aut Faciam I'm back biatches!

I'm home bored to high heaven. I have friends going to the bar, I want to go, but really don't feel like getting up and showering and going outside. It's cold out there. I guess its just more jump money Inveniam Viam aut Faciam I'm back biatches! -

Ever since I was shown a parachute works, I have been concerned about one point of failure. I have always been afraid that the ball at the end of the reserve cable, within the d-ring, would come loose. So if it came time to pull silver, the handle would come out but the cable stay. I have not read or heard of this happening, but how is that little ball attached to the cable? Could you make a litlte square not just above the ball, or would a knot damage the integrity of the cable? Am I worried about an extremely unlikely failure point? Before the flamming starts, I'm not about to start jumping camera yet. I just spent thousands on a rig, so buying a camera is out. I'm just bored at work. The PC55 has been out for a season now, so is still considered bad for skydiving or has a the general consensus changed. I was also looking at the HC21,32 and 42. No much of a difference between them except that the HC21 does not have MPEG movie mode and does not take stills. Would you need the MPEG thing? You can't really find the old pc models very easily (even on ebay) and PC1000 is completely out due to price, so the HC seems to be the next best bet due to price and size. Cookie composites also has a clam type box that fits the HCs. Have you guys used your cam helmet for other activities, e.g. skiing or montain biking? Inveniam Viam aut Faciam I'm back biatches!

I remember talking to the late Egon Sussman, about a good canopy for a beginner, and he said that a Silhoette loaded around 1:1 was on of the best canopies out. Remember that most of the lift comes from the top skin which is ZP. Most of my few jumps were done on Silhoette, and I really liked them. Packing is a hell of a lot easier too. Here's what I did -- 1) After graduating AFF, stopped using student gear and began renting sport rigs. 2) Asked a lot of questions and payed very close attention to what my instructors advised - Usually over a beer or two. 3) Rented for 80+ jumps before buying. I'm now confident that I will stay with my set up for a significant number of jumps, probably a few years with the same container. P.S. I'm a complete newbie so don't assume I know anything. At my DZ it seems to be common practice to have ~60-70+ jumps before buying a rig (Several people have over 100 jumps and just now ordering new rigs) If you have a demo program available to you, you should consider using it, specially if you want to buy new gear.
