  1. Partly true. The discussion revolved around racism in general and the progress we'd made from the civil rights movement (in general). With regard to the military; we had racism, but it was quickly tempered by everyone around. You don't fuck with those you may be going into battle with. My time in SF; I did not see it - everyone had the same training and expertise and "if" it had reared it's ugly head, there would be some quick wall-to-wall counseling. But, you guys go ahead and defend the racist Democrat. I'm the partisan. https://www.azmirror.com/blog/fired-senate-dem-staffer-awarded-2-75m-for-race-sex-discrimination/
  2. I see what you did there. :)
  3. Don't do that. You know perfectly well I'm pointing out the hypocrisy.
  4. She did that on more than one occasion. And, her employer was a degreed social worker. I'm not suggesting any favor towards Kari Lake. I've made clear that Trump and his tribe of followers needs to dissolve. What I'm addressing is the hypocrisy of attitude towards Dems if the R's did the exact same thing.
  5. There were a LOT of sources. Many of them left of center and in the end, she won $2.75 million. Now, imagine if she had an R after her name. The lot on here would be crucifying her with adjectives and a couple of nouns.
  6. Fetterman v. Oz Hopefully, I'm not the only R that isn't surprised that Fetterman won. I looked at his education, experience and community involvement and wonder - what the hell was Oz thinking? What was he thinking getting involved in politics at all. I think the tide has turned where celebrity status is now frowned upon by the voters.
  7. OK. She's both a sexist and a racist.
  8. Katie Hobbs, Racist, wins in Arizona.
  9. Amazing tribute. THank you for letting us see a part of his life. May he rest in peace.

You sure you can disclose the subject of a "private meeting" with a politician about a public matter?

And on that note, I found the following. Republican Party Platform of 1960 As we emerge out of the midterms, we now have the presidency on the horizon. IMO, a Biden/Trump ticket would mean we as a country have failed to provide the US a leadership path for the next ten years. A Biden/Trump ticket would mean (to me) that we would not be voting for what's right, but what's left. We as a nation can do better than these two.
  13. Yep. One must own at least 35 AR-15's and 17 pistols.

Think the RNC will have a meeting to develop a distancing from Trump strategy?
  15. There was a reason to get snarky about my aunt?
  16. Morning, Phil. I am of Sicilian heritage and was raised in NYC, in the Roman Catholic church. It's a rule. As I began to get older, I began to question. Eventually, I fell into a Pantheistic perspective of the universe. Yet, I still have questions. RE: Pro Democratic. Thank you. I "think" that comes from my time as a soldier, many foreign countries with varying forms of government. While some would chastise the US and it's form of government; there's a reason millions of immigrants flock to the US every year. As to the influence of Christianity in America - if we look at the trendline of Christianity in the US, it has gone from ~84% thirty years ago to less than half today. Some see that as an erosion and a threat on democracy; others a blessing. Those who see it as a threat and use it as a political tool aren't doing the US any favors and so in that; I agree with Joe. But, it really doesn't matter which party you're in - it should not be a part of the political platform. My belief is the divide began with Reagan. I'm not a fan of those who feel like they need to profess their Christianity from Mount High in the Republican party. Big believer in separation of church and state. I had a Sicilian aunt who was old-school Democrat and Roman Catholic her whole life. She had an amazing capacity to wear each hat separately. Church was church and politics wasn't.
  17. I'm just curious. Does this tirade include Democrats that are Christians or just the R's?
  18. I have a general rule. You can charge me a subscription fee or show me advertisers, but not both.
  19. Live in NYC during a Sanitation Workers strike - you'll soon see what a necessity it is.
  20. You got it backwards. The communists organized like the Catholics.
  21. The Communist Chinese Party sees ANY organized religion as a threat to communism and THEY tell the religions who can operate, where and when. And four European countries tax the church. Ya know, kinda like the Democrats want. BAM!!
  22. Going back to the 90's; Richard Mack was a Sheriff in Arizona also. When the Brady Bill passed, he told his constiutents that he would not enforce it. That wound up going to the USSC (Under Clinton) and the USSC found that Mack did NOT have to enforce the Brady Bill. Mack became emboldened and developed a following eventually leading to the "Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association." Mack went on to be involved in Jan 6th etc. etc. Since R's support the LEO's much more financially and vocally and the D's want to "Defund the Police;" the LEO's align with the R's. Unfortunately, most Sheriffs aren't well educated beyond the 1800's Posse Comitatus Act to realize that it's no longer valid, so they "act" in that manner. That's the cultural answer. The legal answer is; it depends on the States' Constitution whether they be appointed or elected. Only a few states have changed it to appointed.

He's only said it two times in two different threads which only earns one "troll" status. I "think" blatant troll status is when one hits three times in three different threads.
  24. I think the biggest problem we have is people don't read to any level of depth anymore.
