An excellent idea. Let me know how I can help. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

Cajun, eMachines are fine. I believe Gateway just bought them (unless they've since sold that unit to HP). Anyway, for what you're wanting to do the eMachine low-end bundle will do you just fine. Couple of tips. 1. Purchase just the "box" for around $399.00 2. Invest in a better CRT 19" monitor. I've had some good luck with the Viewsonic "A" series. High resolution, ultrabrite and picked mine up at CompUsa for around $229.00 3. If you go with the eMachine, remove all the bundled software crappola and install only the software applications you want to use. 4. Buy a bus memory card. Run your applications off the computer, save your documents to the flash card. When not saving take the flash card out of your computer. You'll get a symphony of opinions about what to buy and why. My why for the eMachines is; at the speed at which everything changes, I view hardware as a disposable item. Rather than upgrading and all that stuff. I take the position that every year and a half or so, I'm going to yank out my Bus mem card, destroy the hard drive and buy another $399.00 - $500.00 machine. In and out for under $750.00 and an hour of time. Just my .02 Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

No worries, mate. Plenty of replacement/spare parts available. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard. -
Whereas; there is a concern of doing anything with your hands or arms that could allow the student to trap them. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

Yup. Was typing faster than my brain was thinking. Thanks for the correction. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

You asked... Kallend has explained what the policy should be and why. That's what we use. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

Suicide = I don't want to live any longer even though I can. Euthanasia = I want to live longer even though I can't. I disagree with suicide and have mixed feelings about euthanasia. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

As you know from being a pilot, there is a considerable gap between reading about flying and being able to fly. It is performance-oriented training. Just as landing an airplane is half knowledge and half feel, the same is true of skydiving. Having said that, your pilot skills have given you a good foundation for landing the canopy because you'll be taught the same landing pattern procedures albeit at different altitudes. In addition, your desire to read about expectations prior to performance is also to be commended because you'll have greater retention during class resulting in less performance anxiety. There is one source I would recommend you start with and that is the Untied States Parachute Association's "Student Information Manual," commonly referred to as the "SIM." I would encourage you to download it from uspa.org. Here is the hyperlink and go to "Manuals" on the left hand side of the page... http://www.uspa.org/publications/index.htm Blue skies... Anyone using it yet? Pro's & Cons? Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

Awesome. I'll be out around noonish. We need to work on your card and depending on your level of comfort, like to get another coach and us start working on some simple 3-way launches with a couple of simple points. See you there. Please bring your SIM. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

Thanks for the compliment, Mar. In a classroom setting, I am very comfortable. During presentations where I've had time to prepare, I do well. My concern was with the media and that certain flaw I have of missing that special filter between my brain and my yap when asked a stupid question. I doubt the class was directed at you because you're a skydiver as much as it was because you were available. I remember when these little class McNuggets were mandated and someone had to go because it was a directive that "X" number had to attend to fullill and the compliance report could be sent upstairs and everyone felt better. When the Captain told me I had to attend the 3 day "Public Affairs" class, I asked him, "Sir, do I even look like the Public Affairs type?" I have one. I don't see how this is productive in any way. It's hard enough to maintain a positive image to the public without unnecessary nonsense like this and the S/L picture. If you're one of them folks who just likes to stir up shit... How about doing it somewhere else. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

Agreed. I think it's a great idea. I should have communicated more. The original hyperlink was busted (had two https) so I just fixed it. No doubt HH could have gotten to it, but fixed it more for others so they might endorse if they hadn't read it on the first pass. Dacron is going to be considerably more bulkier. In addition, if you have intentions on re-selling it before the next lineset is due, dacron may make that process more difficult. IMO, openings on the Spectre aren't going to be noticebly different with dacron as compared to spectra or vectran. All U.S. States recognize retaliatory discharge as an exception to the at-will rule. Under the retaliatory discharge exception, an employer may not fire an employee if it would violate the State's public policy or a State or Federal statute. Most states also recognize an implied contract as an exception to at-will employment. Implied employment contracts are most often found when an employer's personnel policies or handbooks indicate that an employee will not be fired except for good cause or specify a procedural process for firing. If the employer fires the employee in violation of an implied employment contract, the employer may be found liable for breach of contract. A smaller number of States have also recognized a breach of an implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing as an exception to at-will employment. Unfortunately, most employees "believe" that at-will is the same as "at-leisure" or the type of job reclassification that you're talking about and it's not. Most folks don't fight it and the employers play up this assumption. What does you employee handbook say about "causes" for termination?
