Go with Lisa's advice. If you need a more definitive line... If you have a Coach rating and they have been handed off, then be a Coach. If you don't have the Coach rating, tell them you can discuss anything they want after they have their "A" License - until then, it would be irresponsible of me not to direct you to your instructors/coach. Excellent. And, while you may not derive the specific answers, you may come up with more qualitative questions for your rigger or instructors, like; What is Chord? What is aspect ratio? What's the primary difference between 7 & 9 cells? How do these affect a canopy's performance? You're at a point in your progression where you should be pointed to reading the information about both canopies from the manufacturer and be able to answer that for yourself. In addition to what chuckbrown said, imagine the negative PR and wide-spread ramifications if the recent tandem incident (or any tandem incident) had been an 8, 10, 12... year-old. Then, we can discuss the criminal charges to the parents, the DZO, staff, etc. What's it worth? $30.00, $75.00 to take that kind of chance? A lot of folks can't understand how we came to have an oil shortage here in our country. Well, there's a very simple answer. Nobody bothered to check the oil. We just didn't know we were getting low. The reason for that is purely geographical. Our OIL is located in Alaska, California, Coastal Florida, Coastal Louisiana, Kansas, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, and Texas.
