Here's mine - full tye-dye. Folks behind me on the big ways love it. I "believe" the max recommended weight for the smaller rings and type 17 risers is 225# - check with the manufacturer. http://www.freefall.com/images/webcam/dailyphotos/11aug/eimg_1871_jpg.htm Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

Okay... so now that I've gone back and read the thread again... the question was posed as to the baseline winds. If it's 15-18 gusting to 20... I'm there, been there. So to the first poster, my apologies. A lot of it has to do with a TM's feel for the canopy and their weight-loading. I do lots better on my 365 almost maxed out (~1.3) than a tandem pair that's half my weight in the same wind scenario. In fact, if I carve the turn a little to generate more speed on landing, I won't feel a 5 mph gust. Again, my apologies for reading that wrong. I was under the impression that both these jumpers had < 100 jumps. I saw both of them and they were were fighting their canopy and did not invoke their EP's until ~300-400' I'm not sure an RSL would have helped. BIGUN replied to rhys's topic in Gear and Rigging
My Eclipse student harness has both the bely and back band. One of the reasons for choosing the system. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard. -

Once by Bill Campbell in 1983. Jumping a paracommander and I pulled at 1000'. My logic was that if I was getting out of C-130's on military jumps at 800' at night, this was OK. Yes. It served its purpose - While I was on the ground, Bill explained the difference and timelines between a horizontal deployment @ 800' @ 120mph vs. a vertical deployment @ 1000' @ 120 mph. Made its point and woke me up at the same time. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

If I won a disgusting amount of money in the lottery, my dropzone would have:

If I won a disgusting amount of money in the lottery: I would own a Casa or Twin Otter and just fly from DZ to DZ making jumps with all the friends I've made over the years. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard. -

Every year here in Tulsa we have "Vintage Day" for those who want to jump rounds. At Skyfest, there is a symphony of vintage gear laid out for viewing and a suspended harness with capewells and training for those who wish to jump the gear. [Guess who does the REAL PLF training] Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

Do you want to see video of skydivers burning in?
BIGUN replied to Vectracide's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I did... hence the "(or reinforced it)." You haven't read my previous threads on the subject of minors skydiving. I guess the additional point is that there are other countries that are also members of dz.com that may learn a point about skydiving minors and safety procedures (AADs) from it. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard. -
Do you want to see video of skydivers burning in?
BIGUN replied to Vectracide's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
In that "low-timer's" defense, they did state the nature of the video and suggested not viewing it if you thought it would be offensive. How many times have we seen the thread on the vidiot who jumped without his rig with a sub-thread asking where the video can be viewed - like there's going to be any additional learning value other than don't jump without your rig. Yet, there's been no subsequent threads chastising those requests... Is it the video that offended you or the fact that it was an 11 year old child? Would you have been so critical if it were a 35 year old here in the U.S.? In this day and age, we have more ways of videoing and there's a video of some type on virtually every dive. Do we turn them all off? Or do we put a disclaimer on there as to the content and allow those who will watch, learn from it and communicate ways to prevent future fatalities. I watched it. You know what I learned? I learned (or it was reinforced) that we shouldn't allow a minor to skydive and the USPA should move the age limit to the age of majority. I learned that Bill Booth and the other tandem manufacturers are right not to allow those less than the age of legal majority to make a tandem (imagine if the recent tandem student fatality had been a minor). I also learned the USPA is right to have AADs on student dives as part of the BSRs. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard. -
They all have the same responsibility. To provide the best quality of instruction and vary the time of instruction to fit the individual student; with the utmost sense of professionalism and safety; in a professional environment and to ensure that student has a safe and successful skydive and can deal with any emergency scenario presented. Used Maverone 250 in F111 are some good deals. You're jumping right on the edge of being able to get into a Saber or Safire 230 ZP if you loose about 15 more pounds. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
