If it _stops/minimizes/creates a barrier_ to the school shootings; I really don't care about the perception. Many schools already have metal detectors, some have tall iron fences, especially in inner city schools. Some have their own police departments with roving campus police. The discussion would be about stitching it all together - for all schools. I have a hard time believing that we can be the "world's policeman" but not protect our own kids.

You must be new here. Might want to get to know me a bit.

Israel. Doctors in every household. https://www.cga.ct.gov/2013/rpt/2013-R-0119.htm They're never going to flourish if they're dead. [We can't get off our asses enough to write our legislature and the legislature won't get off their asses to write any formative gun bills]

Trigger control is the action of squeezing the trigger so as not to jerk the weapon. But, you knew that somewhere in the deep recesses of your military mind. :)

DeSantis _may_ believe they are concurrent activities.

Alec Baldwin's gun from 'Rust' shooting found to be mechanically improper, sources tell ABC News "Investigators effectively conducted an autopsy of the gun and found that there were worn joints. The trigger control was not functioning properly. Baldwin had said previously that he did not pull the trigger when the gun he was holding shot Hutchins." I'm calling bullshit.

On the other hand, Biden's most outspoken critic wound up as VP.

Well, that can't be right. There's no need to write your like-minded congress critters.
-
So, how is that whole; no need to write my like-minded congress critters, in a democratic controlled house, bitch about it in SC, campaign working for ya?

Or, you could change parties and fight the enemy from within <smile>
-
Bill, I really can' t argue with any of your points.

What's the model for for liberals taking back their party from the loony and extremist left?

Bravo indeed. I go to AZ several times a year to visit guys I served with. We're all moderates and the politics in AZ are so divisive it's not funny. I hope you're right that it's a start towards working together. Now, if we could just get Kari Lake to sit down and STFU; it may go further toward relations.

April 13th, 2023 Here we are: 103 days into the new year and we have amassed 147 mass shootings to date (but, the day is just beginning). 213 killed. 566 injured. What in the serious fuck is going on in this country. https://www.gunviolencearchive.org/reports/mass-shooting

It's OK. As long as you say you're sorry to God, then you are forgiven. <snarky sarcasm>

People disgrace themselves once they accept the money. Thomas was a disgrace the day he sat righteously indignant in front of the senate judiciary committee.

Were you aware. https://www.nbc12.com/2022/07/27/former-volunteer-coach-charged-with-online-sexual-offense-involving-minor-henrico/ Not in the least.

Doesn't matter. He's not getting a check from his wife, but the American taxpayer. [she'll be very displeased to no longer be married or be married to a disgraced Jurist]
-
Doesn't matter. There are federal laws that limit the financial gifts a federal employee can accept AND even if approved - you're subject to it being taxed as unearned income.

Four or five dumbasses don't speak for the entire Republican party. Putin's war in the Ukraine has done more to unite Republicans and Democrats against him and Russia than tear them apart. The $48 Billion Ukrainian assistance bill passed both houses. Those Republicans and Democrats that voted against it weren't voting FOR Russia, they were voting against money being spent to help Ukraine when there is a symphony of problems here in the US.
