I "think" that's after its been declassified. Not declassified has its roots in the CFR's. Course it seems everything is tricky these days. https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/1924

Do you have Alan Pratt on speed dial or did you just re-read his book?
-
I cannot and will not. It may be the first time in my life I won't vote if he's on the ticket.
-
Oh, They get tracked. That's my issue.
-
I gotta be honest here. I have no friggin clue how any of this is going on. From anyone. How in the hell do controlled documents get out of reach. There are so many controls and protocols it's not funny.

Afternoon, Jerry When we discussed this a couple/three/four years ago - even then; I was opposed to a "ban" on abortions then. ESPECIALLY, if a woman has been sexually abused or raped - it's definitely her call. There have been some that chose to keep the child. That's their choice. For me; life is sacred. We should be trying to preserve it to the best of our ability. I am pro-responsibility. At this point, you've heard me say this before - with all the types of birth control; we should have significantly reduced the number of abortions if not completely eradicate it. That's about the gist of it. I got nothing else.
-
I heard this on the news this morning. Personally, I think it's a great step forward for EV's. It should be as standard as a gas nozzle. EDIT: Not really the best analogy given the subject. Sometimes I crack meself up.

I do. Poor wording on my part. We've had this discussion regarding abortion numerous times on here and the bottom line is: There is no real definitive timeline to say when the the fetus is living. And, until we're able to do that; then it needs to be between a woman and her doctor. No. But, I have to admit that there are times I wonder if both the R's and D's are brain dead. /s

No argument. What part of it do the Dems own?
-
Let me clear and you're welcome to peruse my previous postings on the matter. 1. I am opposed to abortion once there is a fetal heartbeat. 2. I am opposed to abortions being used as birth control when there's 47 types birth control for both men and women. Be responsible. 3. I have not once said, "Ban Abortions." Even with my own life drama did not agree with reversing RvW. I was pretty pissed at both parties. Mine for doing it and yours for not codifying it when they smelled it on the horizon. Suddenly, I'm on Joe's shit list for being a moderate.

That doesn't sound very reasonable.

Damn. Sounds like a close tie for getting voted off first. :) Preach, sister. I don't get it. It's a steady race to the bottom - politically, financially, globally. It's no wonder the millennials are like - fuck it; I'm going home and play video games.

Higher than what you would get. :) This is Biden's critic corner; not Bigun's.
-
C'mon Phil. I said it's not just Biden. It's the past 20 years of stupidity of running up the credit card bills and to keep asking for them to raise our credit limit while paying the minimum.

Unless you're still down 10%. We'll see in time. That remains to be seen. Most of it was credits for renewables - and most folks are still trying to buy groceries. Beef & chicken up 50 to a 100% since the pandemic. We've had this discussion and I'm beginning to think we're the only two to come to some sort of path towards resolution. I guess we all have our Clintons. We still wind up with the least worst person. And. the field for 2024 looks even worse. Maybe we should join Grimmie in SA. It's like watching a really bad political game of "Survivor" work it's way down to the weakest person winning. And, then everyone who voted in their direction setting them on a pedestal for being a master player. And, it's still on after twenty years. Course, the S/O says I'd be the first one voted off, so there is that :)

So sayeth CNN. A loss of 20% followed by a 10% recovery is not a bull market. All hail the inflation Reduction Act - cause the American family has lost ~$7,100/annum over the past two years in purchase power. The border still has no solution with seven million people crossing the border and Kamala - ya know, the Czar of Immigration can't be found near the border. He tried to forgive around a trillion dollars in school debt - ya know, revenue for the country. Now, he's not solely for the national debt being 31 trillion dollars - but he hasn't stopped it either. But hey! everything's slowed down, so it's all good. Cause ya know, we got the least worst guy. I can't help but wonder if Biden had an (R) after his name if you would be so accommodating.

On June 6, 1942, Adeline Gray made the first jump by a human with a nylon parachute at Brainard Field in Hartford. Her jump, performed before a group of Army officials, put the world’s first nylon parachute to the test. The Pioneer Parachute Company of Manchester fabricated the new nylon material, which was developed as an alternative to silk. Working in concert with the Cheney Brothers Company of Manchester and the DuPont Company, Pioneer Parachute developed a material that combined “compactness with lightness, resiliency and strength.” Gray, who was 24 years old at the time of the jump, was from Oxford and worked as a licensed parachute rigger and packer at the Pioneer Parachute Company. She began jumping at age 19 and at the time of the nylon “jump test” had completed 32 jumps and was the only licensed female parachute jumper in Connecticut. https://connecticuthistory.org/first-human-test-of-a-nylon-parachute/#:~:text=On June 6%2C 1942%2C Adeline, nylon parachute to the test. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adeline_Gray_(parachutist)

USPA Special Election June 1-30
BIGUN replied to dmathews1960's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I think member engagement will be the biggest challenge. I started skydiving in 1981 and since then the attitude has been the same. Quite frankly, this activity is recreational for most people and their goals are to jump, have fun and socialize with like-minded skydivers. Not many want to get involved in bureaucratic, political or administrative issues of a recreational organization when they just want to focus on the next boogie. Many learned of French & Raven's Five Forms of Power in college; however, many never get exposed to each form's level of commitment, compliance or resistance. In the case of the USPA, the legitimate form of power will not illicit much more than compliance. -
USPA Special Election June 1-30

I'm pretty sure everyone is aware of the "attempts." David is going for the "accomplishment." -
Hold on. You say that like it's a bad thing. :)

The point and brilliance of it being - sometimes you have to take a few running steps to make a giant leap.

In a way. The gay community was part of the military for a long time. I met my first outwardly "flamboyantly gay" guy in 1974 at Ft. Hood. As he sashayed passed me up the barracks stairs; I must have had some fucked up look on my face, cause another guy said, "We leave him alone. He's the best S-1 we've had." Meaning, we would get paid on time and accurately and our paperwork would be done correctly. Also meaning, judge the person by their work ethic, not the lifestyle. Fast forward twenty years and I had retired. Not long after, Clinton comes out with "Don't ask, Don't tell." Personally, I thought this was brilliant. You joined to do a job. Shut the fuck up about your personal life. And, unfortunately, when Colonels, Generals and budgets are part of the equation; shit rolls down hill. For example, Inspections. It's been a long standing sad joke - General says he's going to do a Class A inspection (Dress Uniforms) the troops at 0800 HRS. (Usually some congressman or dignitary is coming and the troops need to look good); Colonel says, We're going to have an pre-inspection for the General at 0700 HRS. Unit Commander says we're going to have a pre-inspection for the Colonel at 0600 HRS. Unit First Sergeant says we're going to have a pre-inspection for the Unit Commander at 0500 HRS. It starts raining at 0730 HRS; General's staff calls to cancel the inspection. SAME SCENARIO USING DEI Politician runs on a declared policy of - "Leave them the fuck alone" and gets elected. The General Staff develops a 10 minute policy to support the declaration. The General wanting another star makes it an hour class. Colonel wanting to make General says, "Let's make it two hours." Unit Commander wanting to make Colonel says, "Let's make it three hours." Unit First Sergeant wanting to make Sergeant Major says, "Let's make it four hours." The soldiers who joined say, "I just want to do my job and get laid." Don't ask; Don't tell. Brilliant. Ten years or so go by and guess what - nobody really gives a shit that you're gay. It's a fucking mermaid for God's sake. Fictional. Story-telling shit. Black mermaids have been around for hundreds of years. Fuck me. With everything that's going on in the world - this is some people's biggest issue? Dr. Cueto, Associate Professor, Teaching, Learning & Sociocultural Studies at Arizona State, about her research on Black mermaid folklore and mythology. “I don’t even understand the controversy. That blows my mind. We have always had Black mermaids, and they go back in African mythology since before the time of slavery, she said. “Mami Wata was the deity who traveled with the slaves along their path through the Middle Passage.” Do we not remember the book, "Sukey & the Mermaid?" Spoiler alert: They were both black. People need to go back to work.
