  1. You've been waiting to throw DoDD 3000.05 back at me, haven't you? OK, so on the flip-side, what do you think of Clinton's position on |R| Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

  5. 1. Just as an average American voter who would take the time to review each candidate's website regarding their plan for Iraq; which candidate would you pick if the ONLY issue and platform were Iraq? 2. Why does that candidate's position appeal to you? Clinton's Position McCain's Position Obama's Position The poll was created using last names in alphabetical order. 10. First Military Jump - 1980 First skydive -1981 23 y/o. Static Line for both. When transitioning to skydiving, I had to unlearn some military habits, but the gear was roughly the same. I bought a ParaCommander as my first rig with a stop watch as my altimeter for $350.00. It was still a lot of money for a then broke dick soldier. The FJC and my first five jumps cost me $125.00 The FJC was MUCH longer in those days. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  11. I spent a couple of years living in Neubrucke, Germany. It was like being at the four corners of culture. One could easily drive to Belgium, France, Switzerland, Austria, the Netherlands, etc. For us Yanks, it's no different than driving around a large State and being in different counties. Each country with a different culture, some cross-blended.. it was a wonderful time. Never made it to Prague, but it was on the list and one of those places I regret not going. Enjoy. More Excel help

Have a scanner? OCR it so it gets converted from an image to text, save it as a text file. In Excel, on the Data menu, point to Import External Data, and then click Import Data. In the Files of type box, click Text Files. and open it up in Excel. You may have to play with the space delimited. If you give up and type: CTRL+' (apostrophe) Copies a formula or text from the cell above. Cursor on the bottom right side of the box (until you see the +) and drag copies that cell to all lower cells. 18. Congrats, Tink. Have you given any thought to using your experience and background in Emergency Management? I'll be at the Governor's Hurricane conference in Ft. Lauderdale next week. Most States have numerous positions in Administration, Operations, Logistics, Training & Education, etc. If you're done with government service; there are numerous needs in private industry for those with your expertise. Feel free to send me a PM if you're interested in either. http://www.mema.state.md.us/MEMA/content_page.jsp?TOPICID=contact Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  19. For the A License, the SIM segregates the requirements for the A License from other licenses as: must have- a. completed 25 jumps b. completed all requirements listed on the USPA A License Proficiency Card c. completed five group freefall skydives involving at least two participants d. received the signature and official stamp on the USPA A License Proficiency Card or USPA A License Progression Card (ISP) Source: http://uspa.org/publications/SIM/2008SIM/section3.htm Section E.A.1 With the ISP, even a non-working 1st tandem satisfies the requirement for "Orientation to Skydiving" as part of Category A. The intent of the A License is for one to have, a) completed all the categories, b) completion of the A license proficiency card, and c) a minimum of 25 jumps. If A only: no license. If B only: no license. If C only: no license. If A & B: no license. If A & C: no license. If B & C: no license. A + B + C = "A" license. Example: If one completes A & B, but has yet to complete 25 jumps (which happens at turbine DZ's more often), then they cannot submit for the license. If one completes A & C, but has yet to complete their proficiency card (which happens at 182 DZs more often)... For S/L & IAD students, they can submit a zero (0) in freefall time portion of their logbook for the S/L, IAD jumps, but in having met the tenets for A, B, & C; then they can apply for an A license. The source ltdiver cites is the requisite freefall time for advanced licenses B, C & D and instructional ratings... In your logbook it has total freefall time. All the zero's do not count towards advanced licenses or ratings for total freefall time. As to military S/L jumps as referenced in the hyperlink; can be entered into the logbook for total number of jumps and therefore bragging rights only, but do not count towards ratings or licenses as the criteria explained to me was they were exits less than the opening altitudes established by the USPA (and the person at USPA that explained it was a former military jumper himself). Base jumps count towards your BASE number as they were not intentional exits from an aircraft and do not count towards advanced USPA licenses or instructional ratings. 20. Well, you obviously feel comfortable with us by now to know that we don't think anyone trying to be a safer skydiver asks, "stupid questions." Ask away. Like you, we want everyone around us to be safe. Perhaps you and your boyfriend should download Professor Kallend's, "Downloadable freefall modeling program" from http://www.iit.edu/~kallend/skydive/ and play around with it. What you will find is that if everyone exits in the proper order with the proper time/speed/distance, your group "should" only have to worry about their separation. The more knowledge you gain about exit separation, the more comfortable you'll become with not only ensuring your own safety, but the safety of others. 21. Even as an advocate for Anvil Brothers; you need to continue to lose weight to become a student. Unlike a cargo drop, there are many physical skills and skills of agility required to learn skydiving. Skydiving is also about goals. Your first goal should be to reach a minimum of 260 lbs.
