Welcome HMFIC.(HH was taken). Personally, I don't care if you have just one jump, 10 jumps this year, 100 jumps this year or a grand. I have met some wonderful people not only at the DZ's, but also in my travels, for a meal, a beer, a party, etc. I can go online and tell folks where I'm going to be and the members of the community welcome me with open arms no matter how many jumps they have. HH did a great job in setting up this community for a wide spectrum of skydivers and the ones who felt the need to puke on the screen were shown the door. There's forum classifications of breadth, depth, application and even one for politics where Amazon is allowed to be wrong most of the time (wonder if that'll have an effect on dinner next weekend?). Here's my pet peeve about the site... An Incidents Form. Over the years, we've all lost numerous friends and there is no lesser gut wrenching feeling than to open dizzie.com and see Incidents 3, only to find a thread starting out with "I heard some twisted an ankle in.." Or, to go thru ten posts and have to piece the puzzle together. My favorite was the paraglider that went in the ocean. Request made when my username was Nightjumps Anyway.. welcome, think about it, hope to meet you at Skyfest (how shameless was that, J). Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

Well, that's why I ask, Chuck. See, the thing is... here in Oklahoma, Texas, and Kansas if you don't learn to jump in 20 mph winds, you may just never get to jump till after 6PM. It's one of the reasons students in this area take longer than most areas to get their A license. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard. -
See, people who tie-dye aren't afraid to explore. Course we all have our thing - like mine is orange. Orange on a rig... just like, well ya know... it's orange. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

Well, I hadn't heard that NWFlyer had made the adios official. But, I will be in town for a couple of weekends. Throwin some salmon on the barbie and meeting JM and VS the following weekend would be kewl. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

I get into SEATAC tomorrow night at 8:00 PM and will be staying up in Snohomish for a couple of weeks. How many days you in SEATAC? You still have my cell? Yours still the same? I think it's my turn to host dinner with NWFlyer and Monkeynocando... maybe we could argue politics with Amazon. Lemmee know. Kansas 30 MPH Wind Stadium Demo 10/11/08

It would appear there where two 30 mph spike points, but most of the day in Lawrence was around 18-19 MPH with the usual (in our area) drop-off at 6PM. What time was the game? It was built specifically for a safire169 and the 249-M. Not at all... One should always "reserve size" first. Henri (and a few other manufacturers) will build containers for disparate sized main/reserve ratios. Remember, the paneled weight-loading for mains and reserves are different. Safire2 169 being 300# and the 249-M being 277#. Me likes being under the reserve paneled weight-loading. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

I thank you for sticking up for me, but I doubt their jibes will have an effect on the sale. Just some friends of mine throwing rocks at me as if its their part time job. . Fact is... lotsa people like the rig and it was one of the "featured rigs" before Sunrise changed its website. I've had a couple of inquiries already and I think the hardest part to selling this rig will be ensuring that I don't sell it to some overzealous newbie Anvil that doesn't have the requisite number of jumps for that type of wing-loading. If worse comes to worse... I'll just get my new rig and keep this one as a backup. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

You guys throw an SCR/Anvil Party and I don't even get the invite?!?!? SO WTF!!! Am I on the Anvil Brothers shit list?!?!? See if I sell either one of you my cool Anvil rig. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

First we have the issue of "Citizen" vs. "Natural Born Citizen" in which he has been declared a citizen. Senator McCain was born in 1936 in the Panama Canal Zone and the fact that his parents were American citizens - was thought to be enough to satisfy the constitutional requirement that the President be a "Natural Born Citizen" with one exception... The law conferring "Natural Born Citizenship" to children of American citizens serving in the Panama Canal Zone was not passed until 1937 - thereby, making his status as "Natural Born Citizen" one year too late. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
-
So, let me throw this into the mix. Is John McCain considered to be a citizen and eligible to be President based on his place of birth and when? Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

Your posting a PM may just end this thread... kind of an unwritten rule that PM's are not published - no matter how offensive. As you say, to stay on track here... both Gemini (Jim) and I have given you case law. There's another factor here that you are unaware of... while the USPA (which is merely our governing body) suggests that it is ok for those 16 with parental consent to make a jump, they also recommend that you have an attorney in your State check for the validity of parental consent. As I posted, there are only three States which allow parents to waive a minors right to sue. Another component is that those of us who are/were Tandem Instructors is that we sign a contract with the tandem manufacturers that we will not take anyone less than 18 on a tandem skydive. In short, we are faced with State laws, contractual obligations, etc. My home State is Oklahoma and at one time, we could take 16 year olds on a skydive with parental consent. However, I was an Instructor/DZM when a father brought his daughter in for her 16th birthday jump. As we're going thru the paperwork, the father proclaims, "Yeah, we're not telling my ex-wife about this until its over. " "Sir, do you have sole custody of your daughter?" to which he explained that he did not - they had joint custody. I told him that I was sorry, but that I was going to have to decline the skydive unless the mother was also present to sign the waiver. Somehow, it became my fault that she couldn't make a skydive and I had ruined her 16th birthday. The point of this being... DZ's operate on a thin margin as it is. One lawsuit, either by the parents who have a change of heart after their child is injured, or the minor goes to the hospital with a broken ankle, reports to the doctor that they broke it on a skydive which makes the doctor call Child Support Services which jams up the family, the DZ, etc. - it just plain and simply makes it easier to engage in a legal and binding agreement with one who has reached the age of majority. Seriously, one lawsuit and not only can it bust the DZ, but for those DZs that are supplemented by the DZO's regular job could have a catastrophic effect, not only on just the DZ, but that DZO's livelihood for years to come. Now, you can fight, argue, disagree all you want, but the fact remains that most DZs are not going to let you jump until you reach the age of majority. Finally, have you considered going to court for emancipation of status from one of minor to majority? Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

There are only three states in the country--California, Ohio and Massachusetts--that allow a parent to sign a release on behalf of a minor child," Gregg said. http://www.allbusiness.com/retail-trade/miscellaneous-retail-miscellaneous/4133910-1.html Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

In 1976, I was a student of the swine flu shot while mandatory for US Gov't property. It lit me up with the swine flu. I was medevaced to the base hospital in Germany with 105 degree temp. four ice baths later (now that's a real treat while you've got a fever - you can get really strong while 5 or 6 guys are trying to shove you in an ice bath). Fast forward to Desert Storm. Nurse (Major) is going to give me a shot and I ask, "What is that?" "It's a flu shot." "You're not giving me that. "I'm a Major and you'll take what I tell you to take." "Yeah, well, I'm a Master Sergeant and you're not giving me that." Doctor (Colonel) hears the feud and comes over to ask what the problem is... I tell him about the swine flu shot and I ain't taking any more flu shots. He tells the Major Nurse, "Don't give him the shot" and she walks off in a huff. As it turns out, he was in Germany, at the base hospital I was in and remembers the four of us that had a reaction to the flu shot. Small world.
