  1. Perhaps, but we both know there is no means test for anyone of any age and their reaction to the first time out of a plane. Instead of addressing Aaron, which is not going to change his mind... I'll just say that I really think this is in bad form on many fronts. I can't speak for New Zealand's child protection laws, but if they're even close to here... if the kid even breaks a finger and goes to the ER and someone says, "So, Little One, how did you hurt your finger?" and the kid says, "My daddy took me on a skydive." Well, it's just not worth the risk in my book. My little one is coming up on five and is quite the daredevil. There's just no way Daddy is going to let her jump until she reaches the age of majority. I do not think any parent has the right to place their minor child in a potentially life-threatening situation. Our job is to protect our kids. We say, "You can do everything right and still have a wrong outcome" until we start discussing young'uns jumping out of planes and then we act as if nothing could happen. 2. Aaron, please help me understand that when you say, ""I don't think I would take any other person's child ... It's just something special I can do with my boys" why you're more concerned for other people's kids than your own?!?!?!? Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  3. "Fear of speaking out" part. Don't quite understand, but since you bring up that folks send you PMs, then let's postulate this: What if a form were created with some relevant immediate information like, 1) Type of Incident, 2) Injuries sustained (if any) 3) Type of equipment, 4) other information relevant to the incident. And then, instead of the form getting pushed out by anyone in the creation of a new thread, the Submit Button would direct the form to a Moderator, who could then explore the incident for further information and when said "Moderator" has sufficient information, the Incident thread could then be started only by a Moderator? And, that Moderator would then be in charge of that thread. Just a thought, Gentlemen. Have a good night. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  4. A lot of the speculation issues could be resolved if there were an "Incidents Form" to be filled out upon the creation of a new thread. If one cannot fill out the mandatory fields of fact, then they couldn't be throwing out such sillies as, "Hey, I heard there was a fatality at X... anyone know anything about it?" I know, I know.... far be it that we should require the first one to post to be able to share some facts, not be just the first one to post nothing the fastest. 5. That's it!! Awesome place on a chilly wet night. Thanks. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  6. Hey all, What's the name of that Irish pub & restaurant downtown? The one that has the authentic Irish type wooden booths, low ceiling and good Irish food? Tell V to get well for me, please. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  7. We do them around here using the IAD method. Even then, you both better be fookin strong. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

  9. When the Pope himself gives the green light to helping Nazi war criminals escape justice, it does cast a negative light on the entire organization. ----- Well, let's not forget the Red Cross' involvement and collusion in the matter also. Ditto when the Catholic hierarchy covers up the pedophilia in its own ranks ---- Not making an excuse for it, because they should have been charged... I'm glad to see some serious charges being filed. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  10. And, where Deer Park was the birthplace of Texas. I occasionally dine at the Monument Inn, but the fried seafood is waaaaay too salty for my delicate palate. While living in Texas, I called two places, "Home." One was Fort Hood, the other was Kemah. Home of the first Joe's Crabshack and still (IMO) the best. 11. All Catholics belong to a criminal organization. Bigun is a Catholic. Therefore, Bigun is a criminal? You seem very intent on going after the Catholic Church for some reason. This is about your third missive on the subject. Are you a pissed-off former Catholic or sumpin? You can pick just about any organization and peel back a few layers and find that someone or some folks did something wrong (Check out Congress). Now, the good news in all of this is that it's been mostly Catholics rallying the charge against these child offenders. Are they bad people too? And, it would appear that no matter their age and the statute of limitations... there's a reckoning a'comin. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  12. I read this as... you will spend $199.00 for a tandem, stills and T-shirt. In addition, you will receive a swag-bag of skydiving goodies worth $440.00. I would venture to say they might be things like X dollars off your next tandem if you buy today, Y dollars off if you bring Z number of people in the next 30 days... you get the idea. Basically, "Guerrilla Marketing 101." Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

  15. Ask the friend to stand near the edge while I grab the main. As you approach said friend, kick him off the side of the building. Throw main over the side after him. Put on rig with reserve, Pop reserve, Pull slider down, Tie off bridle or if unable to, Drop opened reserve on roof and grab the front risers. Run off the side of the roof while inflating reserve. Note: You said we were at 350', There's no friends under 2,000' Remember that. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

  20. I have the Sapphire. It's Chase's version of the ANY Travel Reward plan. If you've throttled back on traveling, it's not worth it. I use the Chase Southwest card and Hilton Honors. I read the Black Card when it came out... nah. Like you, I still keep AMEX Platinum and have had the annual fee waived due to the amount spent (business expenses). Also have the AMEX Platinum Optima. Personally, I'm a big fan of AMEX and have been a member since 1986. It's pretty bad when you need help one day and the guy on the AMEX phone says, "You've been a member longer than I've been alive."
