  1. I agree with these. - before the first 5 sec freefall - before the 15 sec freefall Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  2. >>>>>>>>>>>2 months ago I 'Traded' a triple digit ser # Winchester model 12 to an old guy I lived next to for 20 years growing up...got a 6 pack of Old Style which we then drank. This. This right here is what makes me love you, man. Next time I see you... "I'm going to kiss you right on the mouth. I am. Oh yes I am. C'mere, you big lug." Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  3. Agreed. The one I sold last year was a '93 electra-king (I converted an electra-glide into a Road King), but I also re-wired the whole bike. I also stuck on a solenoid housing starter switch. http://www.jpcycles.com/product/3800353 Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  4. You better start thinkin eBay then, Bro. Let me know if the bayonets go up for sale. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  5. Why not a credit check? Do you think a bank would want to hire someone who has no credit or someone who recently declared bankruptcy? The same would apply for someone seeking employment as a cashier at Walmart. The people "rolling over and taking it", are the people who understand the seriousness of working to provide a livelihood for themselves and their families. They also understand that a good job is not a "right". They may even hate their job, but they will keep it until they can advance to something else better. That will never compute for the entitlement crowd. OK, but this thread isn't about defense contractors or CEOs of banks "too big to fail". Yes sir, it was. I brought it up and then continued the discourse of "Public Largess." Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  6. Three couples went in to see the minister to see how to become members of his church. The minister said that they would have to go without sex for two weeks and then come back and tell him how it went. The first couple was retired, the second couple was middle-aged and the final couple was newlywed. Two weeks went by, and the couples returned to the minister. The retired couple said it was no problem at all. The middle-aged couple said it was tough for the first week, but after that, it was no problem. The newlyweds said it was fine until she dropped the can of paint. "Can of PAINT!" exclaimed the minister. "Yeah," said the newlywed man. "She dropped the can and when she bent over to pick it up I had to have her right there and then. Lust took over." The minister just shook his head and said that they were not welcome in the church. "That's okay," said the man. "We're not welcome in Home Depot either." Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  7. There is nothing inherent in the condition of being impoverished that supports the conclusion that there is a concrete danger that impoverished individuals are prone to drug use There is nothing inherent in the condition of being a public servant that supports the conclusion that there is a concrete danger that public servants or members of the military are prone to drug use. 8. Ahhh... so it's a matter of public trust and responsibility? Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  9. I see it as both. Not saying I'm right or wrong; but its an issue. I can't think of a better discourse than the one presented by champu with an addition in bold: ETA: You and I had to do it in the military. Cops have to do it. Why not others who draw from the public largess? Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  10. Jim, I'm not disputing your skydiving history, nor that she made a night tandem even. So I apologize if that came across in my missive. My point was more along the lines; that she may not have broken her ankle if DZ had been in accordance with the regs at that time. Anyway, its been ten years, a year since she wrote and many things have changed. Let's just move forward. Good luck with the kids and this new chapter of your life. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  11. Well, first.. We do know the original post was a year ago? And, second, I'm not sure one could have a 24 hour NOTAM for Tandems. The DZ could have had one for skydiving operations, but I don't think night tandems were allowed. I may have my timeline on tandems a little confused.. it was 12 years ago now and there were a lot of changes and questions going on about tandems and coach ratings at that time. 12. Mark, I just want to make sure my position is clear... I am not suggesting that the funding gets yanked just because one flunks a test. I am suggesting that the DHS/SSA do its job and get those that are not physically or mentally handicapped on a path to productivity. If it requires help with drugs, job training... Let me just say there it a ton of agencies AND money out there to help just about anyone who needs or wants it. And, there's even help for those who don't know there's a better way. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  13. I am exceedingly familiar with testing and results. Being in Disaster Response with federal & state contracts; we had to perform mandatory random tests using an external agency. Most of the false positives are a result of some person in the company (usually HR) not doing the procedure right. And, there are more false negatives than positives. Everyone has the right to get an independent third party lab to do a subsequent test. Those who walk away and do not take the option.... well, that is their choice also. 14. I'd only care to know so I could factor in the crime and the time on the market to negotiate a much better offer in my favor. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  15. I took drug and breathalyzer tests as a pilot and so did the maintenance personnel. Once in a while someone tested positive and walked. I understood you could retest with an independent lab, but never heard of anyone choosing to do so. Sure, we were carrying the public, but so is Congress and the President. Drug testing should start with the top dogs. Since when did taking illicit drugs trump one's fiduciary responsibility to the public's domain of funding? And I agree with both sides on this one. Captains of industry who have government contracts (I had to do it)... Politicians, lawyers, the military, etc. If your money comes from public funds or have a vocation in which you are responsible for others lives; then everyone should be required to take random drug & breathalyzer tests during work hours. I mean if you don't do drugs or do them within the legal limit (i.e., alcohol); what have got to be afraid of from a test? [you see what I did here, right? /smartass] And yes; welfare recipients. If for no other reason than to help them get into a program so they can start on the path of being productive members of society. Why is that so wrong? 16. At what point did this thread turn and wind up way the fuck over here in ephebophelia land? Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  17. Back in the late 80's, I wanted a Jag so bad. I had been looking and a friend of mine had one for sale. When I told people that I was considering his price.... Men started puking, women took their children, covered their ears and ran, alligators migrated south, mechanics starting throwing wrenches at me, the club owner threw me out... 24. That website has some interesting self linkage like, How Women Work Ya gots to quote the whole thing unless you're making some click-thru revenue. What it starts out saying is.... "If you believe what you see on TV,... " Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  25. Well, it's not much of a story; but our little 182 DZ had a New Year's midnite jump for years and if everyone decided to party instead, then we had a New Year's day jump. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
