  1. Somehow the words, "Really" and "Excellent" got misspelled.
  2. Your points are well-taken. And, if someone were on the transplant list and engaged in those behaviors while on the list, I'd be more callous. In this case, he was a healthy 20 year old. Contracted pneumonia, complications from the pneumonia put him on the transplant list, denied due to THC in his system. I don't smoke anything, but have had pneumonia and have a hard time thinking anyone could smoke while on the track of deterioration he was on. In reviewing the article I posted, even those who engage in those behaviors are given a chance to cease for a period of time to demonstrate their level of commitment to the transplant taking. From my perspective, this was a normal kid who had a catastrophic situation and while initially denied, did get a chance. I'd just hate to think that everything the average 20 year old does immediately leads to a death sentence in a similar situation. Thanks for contributing. 3. He did get a transplant. He contracted pneumonia and had complications resulting in needing a lung transplant. Utah said no. UPenn said yes. Appearance of a disparate decision-making process on organ recipients. But, I found some information on that also: https://www.verywell.com/organ-transplant-waiting-list-requirements-3156951 (towards the bottom) Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  4. 1. My android phone has an SOS function. If I hit the the power button 3 times in quick succession. It sends a text to the 3 people I've put in my list that I'm in trouble and sends them my location which they can hit the drive r walk icon and start and it takes them right to me. 2. There is an app called Glympse that you can set for up to 4 hours and it texts someone that you're on the app... if they have the app - they can view your location. 3. As to small tracking devices... they're already out there. Some the size of a quarter with a sticky back. Easy Google search. 5. The little girl rockin out and singing to TNT was grand. I checked out the Michael Jackson one... Every kid loved him. Several knew the dances. That's pretty awesome. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  6. Bullshit. http://www.snopes.com/politics/clintons/landlord.asp My bad. You're correct. http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2015/apr/06/chain-email/chain-email-secret-service-pays-clintons-mortgage/ Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

  8. Absolutely. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  9. Nope, nor did I miss the news about the Clintons building a pool house and charging enough for the secret service that it paid the remaining mortgage. There's plenty of rocks to go around. Right now, I am observing and assessing. My rock pile will go in two directions if need be. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  10. As most on here know, when I don't know about something; I become OCD about researching the shit out of it. (Kinda like your giving me direction on climate change years ago and subsequently changing my position. I found this interesting: Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

  12. And this is where I'm confused. Alcoholics are less likely to stop than cannabis users. On one hand, I get that he took something into his lungs, but it's not like (I hope) he would jeopardize his lungs in the future. 13. http://www.foxnews.com/health/2017/04/25/utah-man-initially-denied-lung-transplant-over-pot-use-dies-after-complications-family-says.html Quite frankly, I'm not sure how I feel about this one and would like your views. On one hand... Is everyone who touched alcohol or THC in the past year off the transplant list and if so; are there really that many people who don't touch whatever magic list there is to be a viable candidate? 15. Apples and oranges. A better analogy would be "Mar-A-Lago" with "Clinton's New York Estate." Course we didn't hear much from the liberal side on the amount of money that was costing. Nor, that [Clinton and his office received more money through the Former Presidents Act than any other ex-president...taxpayers will have paid out more than $16 million to fund Bill Clinton’s pension, travel, office expenses and even the salaries and benefits of staff at his family’s foundation, federal records showhttp://www.politico.com/story/2015/03/taxpayer-tab-for-clinton-inc-16-million-116008 Regarding Bill's snip, it does not share the web post was for informational and historical purposes: I'm glad there's plenty of rock's to throw at both sides otherwise SC wouldn't exist. 16. A child asked his father, "How were people born?" So his father said, "Adam and Eve made babies, then their babies became adults and made babies, and so on." The child then went to his mother, asked her the same question and she told him, "We were monkeys then we evolved to become like we are now." The child ran back to his father and said, "You lied to me!" His father replied, "No, your mom was talking about her side of the family." --------------------- A bus full of ugly people had a head on collision with a truck. When they died, God granted all of them one wish. The first person said, "I want to be gorgeous." God snapped his fingers and it happened. The second person said the same thing and God did the same thing. This want on and on throughout the group. God noticed the last man in line was laughing hysterically. By the time God got to the last ten people, the last man was laughing and rolling on the ground. When the man's turn came, he laughed and said, "I wish they were all ugly again." ---------------------- A proud and confident genius makes a bet with an idiot. The genius says, "Hey idiot, every question I ask you that you don't know the answer, you have to give me $5. And if you ask me a question and I can't answer yours I will give you $5,000." The idiot says, "Okay." The genius then asks, "How many continents are there in the world?" The idiot doesn't know and hands over the $5. The idiot says, "Now me ask: what animal stands with two legs but sleeps with three?" The genius tries and searches very hard for the answer but gives up and hands over the $5000. The genius says, "Dang it, I lost. By the way, what was the answer to your question?" The idiot hands over $5. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

  21. What is this "golf" of which you speak, woman? I think I once heard something about a game for non-skydivers. No, that was something called, "Bowling." So, I guess the bottom line is - since I don't know how the other half lives... I'll simply not care, M'lady. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  22. In my opinion... it *MAY* do a few things. It *should* reinforce the norm there are limits in warfare. That weapons of mass destruction are unacceptable. It *should* also restrict the Assad regime on how it's fighting its war. And, it may perhaps provide some leverage for Syrian negotiations to begin about ending the war. Outside of Syria, I think it does a couple of important things for the U.S. It reassures America's allies - those reliant on our security promises - that we won't just act in our own interest, but for the greater good. Let's not forget when Qaddafi raised his ugly head - it took one direct missile strike for him to re-think his position. We didn't hear from him for years. And, that was a Clinton shot heard 'round the world. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Infinite_Reach Finally, do a Google search on "Syrian Americans support Trumps airstrike." Across the nation, Syrian-Americans are applauding the attack. They simply want to go home and live in peace. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

  24. WASHINGTON — When it came time to make his case for the judgment of history, President Barack Obama had a ready rebuttal to one of the most cutting critiques of his time in office. Although friends and foes alike faulted him for not following through on his threat to retaliate when Syria gassed its own people in 2013, Mr. Obama would counter that he had actually achieved a better result through an agreement with President Bashar al-Assad to surrender all of his chemical weapons. After last week, even former Obama aides assume that he will have to rethink that passage in his memoir. More than 80 civilians were killed in what Western analysts called a sarin attack by Syrian forces — a chilling demonstration that the agreement did not succeed. In recent days, former aides have lamented what they considered one of the worst moments of the Obama presidency and privately conceded that his legacy would suffer. “If the Syrian government carried out the attack and the agent was sarin, then clearly the 2013 agreement didn’t succeed in its objective of eliminating Bashar’s C.W.,” or chemical weapons, said Robert Einhorn, who was the State Department special adviser for nonproliferation and arms control under Mr. Obama before the agreement. “Either he didn’t declare all his C.W. and kept some hidden in reserve, or he illegally produced some sarin after his stock was eliminated — most likely the former.” Other former advisers to Mr. Obama questioned the wisdom of negotiating with Mr. Assad and said last week’s attack illustrated the flaws in the agreement, which was brokered by President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia as a way to prevent the United States from using force. “For me, this tragedy underscores the dangers of trying to do deals with dictators without a comprehensive, invasive and permanent inspection regime,” said Michael McFaul, who was Mr. Obama’s ambassador to Russia. “It also shows the limits of doing deals with Putin. Surely, the Russians must have known about these C.W.” Putting the best face on it, former Obama advisers argued that it was still better to have removed 1,300 tons of chemical weapons from Syria even if Mr. Assad cheated and kept some, or later developed more. “Imagine what Syria would look like without that deal,” said Antony J. Blinken, a former deputy secretary of state. “It would be awash in chemical weapons which would fall into the hands of ISIS, Al Nusra or other groups.” Still, the administration knew all along that it had probably not gotten all of the chemical weapons, and tried to get Russia to help press Syria, without success. “We always knew we had not gotten everything, that the Syrians had not been fully forthcoming in their declaration,” Mr. Blinken said. Even before last week’s chemical attack, many veterans of Mr. Obama’s team considered his handling of Syria his biggest failing and expressed regret that their administration could not stop a civil war that has left more than 400,000 dead and millions displaced. Many of them even praised President Trump for taking the very action that Mr. Obama refused to take four years ago, by ordering a cruise missile strike against Syria. “Donald Trump has done the right thing on Syria,” Anne-Marie Slaughter, the director of policy planning in Mr. Obama’s State Department, wrote on Twitter. “Finally!! After years of useless hand-wringing in the face of hideous atrocities.” SOURCE: https://www.nytimes.com/2017/04/09/us/politics/obama-syria-chemical-weapons.html?_r=0 Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
