Why would they endorse a program to their representatives when they can already afford health care?
-
Great. We've degenerated to the copypastefacebookmemezone.com

I'm not the one who's calling for a change and you didn't offer a plan - you offered an opening statement, "decrease our defense spending (fraud, waste, and abuse), and increase taxes (offset by having no out-of-pocket expense for healthcare)." Decrease our defense spending - Even if you eradicated the entire military (800B/year) you'd still have 2.2 Trillion to come up with . . . Increase taxes - 2.2 T = >$6,000 for every man, woman & child in the US. So a family of four's tax bill would be ~$24,000/year To meet your objectives; we would eliminate the military and just shove the middle class into poverty. You're missing the obvious. The entire tax structure would need to be changed. Thanks for playing.

uh huh.

You need to do more than be a cheerleader for "free" healthcare - you need to explain how we pay the 3.5 trillion in health care costs in the US each year, You know; about 18% of our GDP. About $12,000 for every man, woman and child in the US. Where's your plan?

Then why write anything?

I quit reading after, "You get free medicine also: Since I'm over 60, all my medicine is free."

ME ABOUT MY GUNS: I like to shoot shit. IT'S KINDA LIKE: Her Diary: Tonight, I thought my husband was acting weird. We had made plans to meet at a nice restaurant for dinner. I was shopping with my friends all day long, so I thought he was upset at the fact that I was a bit late, but he made no comment on it. Conversation wasn't flowing, so I suggested that we go somewhere quiet so we could talk. He agreed, but he didn't say much. I asked him what was wrong; He said, 'Nothing.' I asked him if it was my fault that he was upset. He said he wasn't upset, that it had nothing to do with me, and not to worry about it. On the way home, I told him that I loved him. He smiled slightly, and kept driving. I can't explain his behavior I don't know why he didn't say, 'I love you, too.' When we got home, I felt as if I had lost him completely, as if he wanted nothing to do with me anymore. He just sat there quietly, and watched TV. He continued to seem distant and absent. Finally, with silence all around us, I decided to go to bed. About 15 minutes later, he came to bed. But I still felt that he was distracted, and his thoughts were somewhere else. He fell asleep - I cried. I don't know what to do. I'm almost sure that his thoughts are with someone else. My life is a disaster. His Diary: Harley won’t start…can't figure out why.

Truly sorry to hear this. She was a kind and generous person who made everyone I know smile. Condolences to her close friends & family.

Oh man. The Democratic party is just going to implode this year. First, we have Bernie in the running alienating every immigrant from a socialist country. To the extent that the US Representative (D) from Florida has to ask the Democratic party to please stop with the socialist rhetoric. Now, the Dems are again bound to alienate the conservative Dems who live in States other than the West & East coast that are hunters & gun enthusiasts. I think the point that Brent is trying to make is that 98% of Dems that are in leadership roles that can enact bills to restrict weapons; really don't know what they're talking about regarding weapons. The most popular Democratic war cry continues to be "Ban Assault Rifles." The more laws you enact; the more the gun lobby will figure out work-arounds. I would have never have thought that a muzzleloader would come with a silencer - much less be protected under the "Hearing Protection Act." In the 90's; California outlawed the purchase of 30 round clips after a certain date. The only thing that happened was a significant amount of truckloads of 30 round magazines were bought before the law took effect. The law effectively increased the number of 30 round magazines in the state by the tens of thousands. Then when the law dropped off - there were more 30 round clips in California than any other state. When it comes to drugs; the Democratic party continues to say, "Banning doesn't work" and we have seen that no matter how many drug laws are created; there is still a proliferation of drugs/sales/abuse/rehab in the country. And, then turn around and say "Ban Assault rifles." Okay; let's do that. Will it be OK to purchase a Finnish M28/30 Mosin-Nagant bolt action rifle like this? Hint: It was used to kill over 500 people by one man. Banning was the war cry thirty years ago. It didn't work then. Until the Democratic party changes its strategy on guns and uses real experts to develop some common sense legislation - you're going to fail again. You guys can't continue to alienate your own base and expect to be successful. There are conservative Democrats in your ranks. Push more towards center; than further left.

And, there you have it.

I'm fairly confident that those of us on here and particularly those who have a daughter are wary of any men leering around females. And, to some extent, even reflect upon their own behaviors towards women as a young man. I also believe that there's not one of us who knew of any minor female that was sexually assaulted or raped even if it was our best friend - wouldn't hesitate to neuter him on our own. Slowly.
-
Yup. And as been shown, many of those people are not basing their opinions and feelings on facts or truths. I don't think governing should be based on feels. What are you proposing? People have the right to vote for whom they think/feel will most represent their interests.

You're a survivalist. Who'da thunk it.

Kinda scary - you and I agreeing on something. : )

Fair point. "Conflict is good. It can be the first step to resolution." ~One of my college professors

You think that might be because they represent the people in their district and if they go against them - they're out?

The deductions for purchasing a home are far greater than medical costs that are the biggest non-deduction tax deduction.
-
And yet, it happens everyday on both sides of the aisle.

Nobody is addressing the 39 Democrat "defectors'" positions on why they did not vote for the ACA. You just keep talking about the "opposing party."
-
Sorry, there were 39 Democrat "Defectors" also. Many of whom represent some of the highest number of "poor folk" (poverty-level), so you may want to consider the "whys" of their defection. One of the issues I have with liberals is they think they speak for all the "poor folk," but they don't take much time to listen to them. Most poor folk also have a fear of an intrusive government. That opposition to a government role in healthcare and mandatory health insurance makes it unlikely that the US will ever be able to insure that all of its citizens have ongoing access to healthcare in the near future. Until the Democrat party overcomes the perception that the government can look into your medical records; you're never going to sell it. Just offering some strategic planning thoughts. https://www.businessinsider.com/democrats-who-voted-against-obamacare-keep-your-plan-2013-11
