Snowed??? Gee, I guess living THAT far north can be good during fire season... the only thing burnt around here is my face after all that sun in Kamloops... although were are in such a serious drought that this is gonna be a bad fire season around here, too. Stage 4 water restrictions are being considered - and that includes absolutely NO outdoor watering of anything anytime... so much for "The City of Gardens"! So what is your role in the firefighting? Frank

Way to go, JT! Writing the old test when you are up on the new SIMS kinda sucks... I think you should seek a free J/T for retribution! Congrats to you and Merrick, too, Pammi! Now when do you start working on you "B"? I just need to get my coached jumps done for that one - passed the written portion on my first time thru!

Tee, go here http://www.skydivekamloops.org/ to find all the pix from Kamloops... I didn't have a camera with me (packed real light for jumping in!), but Bruce Churchill took many pix, and posted them for the rest of us to enjoy! Have you heard how Andrew (174fps) is making out with the huge forest fire in his neck of the woods?

Nobody here is trying to make things worse. And nobody is trying to accuse anyone. I live in a different country, and did not know Michelle or anyone who she jumped with or anyone who even jumps in the same state she did. But I feel a loss... and I think this forum is a place where we skydivers can share our feelings about this horrible event - whatever those feelings may be... and perhaps we can learn something, and prevent it from happening again. While it is an awful subject, we NEED to discuss this - because we all live by this sport - and some of our comrades will die in the sport. I feel nothing but sorrow for everyone involved, but I DO want to understand what happened, and from what I've read here, I feel I have learned about some of the risks involved in big-way formation jumping. In my rotation at work, I work 2 weekends in a row, then get 4 off, so I regularly go 3 full weeks without jumping... blah!

Thanks, Hotload, for sharing your knowledge of this terribel tradgedy with us... I had several friends do exactly the same type of big-way formation load just 2 weekends back with about the same mumber of jumpers and the same two planes ... sometimes you just can't anticipate all the variables -- but the rest of us are wiser now that we've learned from you what happened to Michelle...
