Congrats, Wesley! I have owned a 210 Silhouette for over a year now. I put 4 rolls into the nose, but I don't tuck it into the centre cell... I Pro-pak it, and don't do anything "special" to it. I like a moderately slow opening, and with around 400 jumps on my canopy (only the last 70 or so by me), that's exactly what I am geting! Nothing else unusual to report -- just be careful up there, and have fun!

I jump a previously-owned Dolphin D3. It is safe, comfortable, and inexpensive. I have had some of my velcro replaced, and modifications have been made to fulfill service bulletin objectives. I would not hesitate to recommend purchasing a used Dolphin container that is in good condition.

Kids should be taught that guns are made for one purpose only: killing It's no wonder so many people die every day of gunshot wounds in your country. You seem to think that the gun is your friend. Take away the fucking guns and your children wouldn't be dieing. I saw on the news yesterday video of 2 men arguing. The wife of one of the men pulled a gun! What the fuck do you need a gun for??? To shoot another person armed with a gun!!! You've got guns at work, guns in the car, guns in your bedroom night tables, guns in your belt -- no bloody wonder thousands of people die after being shot each year in your county. And now you want to put these deadly weapons in the hands of children... oh yeah - I forgot - this is a country that has "legal murder": the death penalty... but I know you think you have the "god given right to bear arms", so the killing will continue...

ya, 'bout the same as the rest of us when we were first getting into it! It'll get easier as your number of jumps accumulates -- but you will NEVER be like you were before. Every time you hear a plane overhead, everytime you feel the breeze in your face, everytime you see an open field... get the picture?!? It's not so bad -- just tough to get the wuffos to understand (actually, they never REALLY understand, do they...)

Regarding the latest poll on the front page... is it referring to commercial vidoes? I ask, because I have lots of videos shot at my DZ, but I don't own any commercially sold ones... Anyway, I'd MUCH rather watch me and my friends skydive than watch the crap that is on tv these days!

A friend of mine was jumping in Arizona about 2 years ago, wearing a frap... bumped heads with her partner on exit, saw stars for the next 30 seconds. She got a full-face helmet that afternoon...

Good point - I hadn't considered that... I am always preparing for a malfunction -- on the bus in to work, sitting here at the computer... here's my drill: I reach back, pull and throw, look up, say to myself "this is a malfunction", look down at my chest, reach to where my handles will be, then punch right, punch left. I am confident I will do it correctly when the time comes, but at least for the first one, I still want that RSL there. Maybe when I gain the confidence of going thru the real thing successfully, I'll re-think my situation. I'm only 1/4 drunk on beer

Well I think we would all like to feel that way, but the fact is, you can't be positive that's how you will react. Check the fatality reports, and see how many people died because they didn't have an RSL -- and never pulled the silver handle. That's why I'm jumping with an RSL right now -- until I experience a malfunction and cutaway, and learn how I react, I want that RSL in place (at 94 jumps, I'm still a novice and obviously have never cutaway). Good thread, BTW!
