nah...Jerry Garcia died during the summer. I was with a friend that is a huge Dead Head when we found out. I'm not sure that I've ever been personally present for seeing one person get so fucked up so quickly as I did that day. Killing threads since 2004.

Don't I remember showing some pictures of her in her dragster when she came out to The Farm with you a couple years ago? Obvioulsy a different beast altogether, but at least you know she's got a good head on her shoulders if she could keep it together driving that thing! Killing threads since 2004.

Yup, I totally pegged him as being there to try and get a "correspondant" role on one of the late shows (like Ross on Leno). Did you see that "Cartman" and "Bush Baby" are working for Jimmy Kimmel now? I saw a clip of them out covering a celeb golf tourney for Kimmel. Killing threads since 2004.

I don't recall exactly, but I believe NYC adopted legislation outlawing the use of a Segway on the sidewalk. I knew two people that got them when they first came out and they weren't able to use them as easily as they had planned. Not sure if that is still the case up there. Killing threads since 2004.

Guess it depends on what cheap means to you. There are a few chain hotels in the city that are "reasonable." There is a Red Roof Inn that I had family stay at twice. At the time that was the most affordable place with availability. The WestSide YMCA has a hostel/hotel where a bunch of my friends stayed while visiting me. I'm sure the accomodations aren't anything special, but they were always happy with what they got for the price. It's in a good neighborhood right next to central park, a couple blocks from columbus circle. 63rd (i believe) and central park west. Killing threads since 2004.

In a former life, one that included tivo I used to do the same. If I was home for the night I'd start watching an hour late so I could fast forward through the crap! Killing threads since 2004.

Absolutely LOVE IT! I get to spend half the year setting fires and the other half putting them out! This shit weather we are having in Texas is putting a major damper on my mood though. It's been more than two weeks since we burned. Fingers crossed for the end of next week in Austin and the whole following week out in the Davis Mountains though! Killing threads since 2004.

A little strange, but I kinda liked her. I almost turned it off a few times (yeah, i know, not gonna' happen) I was so annoyed at the people that couldn't just get a grip and move on with it. Killing threads since 2004.

How do the other guys in the sauna feel about watching you shave your nuts in front of them? Killing threads since 2004.

That's one thing I miss about my barber in NYC. My hair just gets cut with clippers, and for most of my life I have done it myself, but I loved this guy so much I always went to him while I lived there. The hot lather and shave with the razor was the best part. Juan "Johnny" Diaz on Columbus btw (I think) 57th and 58th for anyone up in that neighborhood. Killing threads since 2004.

I know what you mean. I HATE going to the gym, but in the new job I've been at since mid-November we have to do conditioning at least three days a week. We have some equipment at work and some at home, and it has felt amazing to get back to it. Being told that I have to work out while on the clock was certainly a motivating factor to get back into it, but now I'm lovin' it and am feeling better every day. Now if only I could motivate myself to change my diet! Killing threads since 2004.

Thanks for posting again. The last time it was posted I guess it was hosted on the same site as piles of porn, because I copied the link for the video and sent it to a bunch of family and friends, but I apparently cut off a bit of the link and they all got a HUGE eyefull when the opened it up rather than my video! That took a bit of explaining. I'm still a little scarred by the thought of my little sister opening up my link and seeing what she described as "things I never knew were possible." We used to ask my mom for it as kids. She could never understand why we liked it so much! I haven't had it since I was about 10 though. I'm afraid I just couldn't ever make it like mom did. Killing threads since 2004.

So what do you think will be the format of your demise? Get your prediction here. I think I would be proud to go in my predicted manner: Jason: At age 82 you will be struck by lightning while trying to move the antenna beside your mobile home in order to pick up late night adult movies. hehe...that's what I was thinking Along the lines of "wow, that guy's good. There's some dudes on dz.com that could learn a thing or two from this guy!" Killing threads since 2004.

For anyone that lives in NYC, a friend of mine who is a guide for the Appalachian Mountain Club leads a Manhattan Bushwhack that is a pretty fun (and very interesting) hike in and around a whole bunch of upper Manhattan that most people are clueless even exists. It's not just a walk on the street either, though there is some of that, it's filled with rock scrambles, boulder hopping down the bank of the Hudson to the GWB (even more fun when it's icy, which are the kind of conditions he looks for to do it). When I lived up there it used to happen every January/February. I don't know if it is even happening any longer, but it might be worth checking out the AMC guide book or giving them a call to see if it is happening. It used to be an AMC sanctioned hike. Not sure if it still is or not. The guy's name is Graeme Birchall. If any of you have ever gone kayaking via the Downtown Boathouse you have probably seen him there too, the tall Kiwi. I don't even know where the boathouse is located any longer since they demolished our old space on Pier 26. Anyway, it's a great time to be had by all. If you are interested and can't find any info, let me know and I'll see if I can't round up contact info for him. I haven't seen him for years, but I might be able to help. Do you mean $1,000/month for rent or $1,000 to find a place, pay a deposit, maybe a broker fee, and a first month rent? I would suggest starting to check Craigslist vigilantly and jump on every post you like right away. I paid out the nose for a broker to get my first apartment in Queens, but it was very easy, just walked into the office and said "this is what I want" and she took me right to it and two hours later I had a leese signed. My other two apartments I found on Craigslist, but not until after having responded to 20 or 30 different posts and finding out a lot of people post a much rosier description of their apartment than it is in real life. However, I got amazing deals on the Craigslist apartments with no broker fees. Best case scenario...someone on this lovely site happens to have an apartment available in their building and you can bypass both of the above options! Killing threads since 2004.

That's great. I used to see him every year when I lived in Cincinnati. My roommate worked for the box office and got two tickets to all of the shows! Even if you aren't a big fan of the music it's one hell of a party! So Shrek - you're going to find your way backstage and talk him into headlining Saturday night in Dublin, right? Is this Spence's "other special guest?" Killing threads since 2004.

QuoteLife and happiness...it's all about you - your wants, your needs, your moods, your dreams Given the choice, would you rather.... Have a year of mind-blowing sex daily, then no action for four years, or have mediocre sex for five years? One and four for me Age only from the neck up, or age only from the neck down? Age only from the neck up. Even if I was in top shape in the head, I think I'd be miserable if my body wasn't physically capable. This could easily change though. Go to a huge party naked, or never eat your favorite food again? Uh, guess it depends on the party! Am I the only one naked? On the other hand, I don't really have a favorite food. Could go either way! Have the body of a supermodel that dies at 40, or be morbidly obese but live to 100? Well, I don't have any interest in either. If I could have a well in shape body capable of pushing the limits I'd rather go for that than be in a body where the limit pushing was making the walk to the fridge. Achieve world peace but never find a cure for cancer, or cure cancer but never have peace? Cancer for sure. Too many asshat stubborn people out there to ever find world peace. And...I think more cases of violence are brought on by the people involved than with cancer. More people suffering from cancer are innocent victims. Have 13 children, or never have any children? I think I'd have to say none. I don't think I could handle and provide for 13, and I'd rather have none that not live up to the person I would want to be with 13. Killing threads since 2004.

I agree. I really liked the Cartman guy and the other guy. The other thing I was surprised at was how they tore up the girl who said her husband didn't support her but her son did. As they were going through her whole story I told my roommate "well, she has to be a good one. They wouldn't go all sentimental with a story like that and then have her suck and get made fun of." I was most definitely wrong! Killing threads since 2004.

Wasn't that wild? That guy seemed pretty cool - maybe with that tidbit of exposure he can pick up some Cartman gigs on the side now! Killing threads since 2004.

I don't think it will be that bad. Just before the show ended they did the quick flash through all of the people that got passed on to the next round and we had never even seen most of them! Seems like they are filling "the preseason" with all the people that got booted and we won't see much of the good folks until they get to the second round. Killing threads since 2004.

Are you just getting into it with the purchase of this bike, or have you been riding and now you're hooked and want to up it to the next level with a nicer bike? If you are just getting started I would definitely suggest giving it a go with something much cheaper before you drop that kind of money. I used to ride a lot, and have owned a few different bikes that I paid a lot of money for. In the end though, and I know this is kind of screwed up, but the damn bike I got at Target for $100-150 was the one that I felt most comfortable on. I made some changes and upgrades here and there, but it was the bike that fit me best out of all of them. Another thing I liked about it was that I wasn't afraid to ride it hard. I used to laugh when friends I was riding with would be riding over cautiously (read: boring) because they didn't want to risk damaging their bike. If you have been riding for a while and know you want to upgrade, see what's out there on eBay/craigslist, etc. I've gotten a couple used bikes from those sites and was always pretty happy, and if it ends up not being a match for you it can always be resold without the kind of depreciation you'd get with a new bike.
