Mine's a '96. I've never been a big SUV fan but I traded in my car for the Jeep so I could tow the camper I lived in for the last two years. Got rid of the camper and now I'm kind of stuck with a gas hogging V-8 with nothing to pull, but I've been as happy as I can be with the Jeep. Killing threads since 2004.

Yeah, "quarantine area" is a pretty new fangled word for dumpster, it hasn't gotten around yet to all the employees. Could be the kitchen. I heard rats taste like kitten. Or was that chicken? Not sure, but there's a little hole in the wall Tex-Mex place around the corner from me that has "Meat Chunks" on the menu. They have chicken this and beef that, but number 6 is "Meat Chunks." Never heard of that one. Lombardi's is pretty cool too. Not the stereotypical "New York slice" but has been around forever and huge on history. Killing threads since 2004.

I'll be honest that I have no idea, I never went on the actual tour over to the statue itself, and usually kept friends visiting so busy that we never took the time to find out how long it took, just enjoyed the 45 minute or so off our feet while going out and back on the Staten Island Ferry. You can find pretty good pizza pretty much anywhere. Everyone has their own favorite. My personal favorite is a place called Papa Aldos out in Astoria, but that wouldn't be worth a trip all the way out there for you. If you want an impressively huge slice (of varying quality) you should check out Cornet (or maybe Kornet). I don't think I ever saw a larger slice. You would have to do a search for their locations. I used to go to one once in while that was up around 110th and Broadway or so. Otherwise, most of the pizza places will probably suffice for what you are looking for. Famous Famiglia, which is all over the place, usually had a palatable slice! Garlic knots rock my world too. Little garlic smatherd dough balls. Worth checking out! Mmmm...writing that much about pizza so easily makes me realize why it is that I'm in need of participation in the DZ.com Belly Off! Killing threads since 2004.

I've always had joint issues so I knew what I was getting into when I started running, but it was such a good feeling, especially once the pounds started just dropping off that I kept it up for much longer than I should have. I started my working out at the end of my junior year and hit it hard all summer, so when people started coming back into town and commenting on how much weight I had lost it didn't matter how much my knees hurt, I felt like I had to keep going. I've gotten over that now. No pain no gain...to a certain degree, but now I know the limits! I don't think I'll be going out to buy anything new, but I do have an elliptical runner thing - actually the cheapest version of "Tony Little's Gazelle" that I picked up a while back for really cheap. It offers a very low impact "run" so hopefully I can just get myself into a regular schedule with that. Killing threads since 2004.

That was pretty much my case. I was running, using a NordicTrac ski machine and playing tons of raquetball, no strength training. I lost the piles of weight and eventually when my knees started complaining got more into a well rounded workout and started putting muscle weight back on. Then I moved to NYC and started putting on pizza weight and it all went downhill from there. I've always been very active, it's just a matter of focusing my activity to areas that will help burn off some pounds! Killing threads since 2004.

I might be able to give you a run for your money there. Sent these in last night and thought I attached them when I posted, but I guess I didn't. Here goes it...starting out at about 215. I was holding strong around 200 for the last couple years, but packed the extra 15 on since I moved to Texas and have been eating Tex Mex and drinking Shiner non-stop! This is 5lbs short of my all time high. From 220 in college I decided I was tired of it and started running and eating better and got down to 160. Found out I loved running, but unfortunately over did it and took a huge toll on my knees. Gonna' have to find a way to get the cardio impact from running without actually doing it! Anyone ever hear of a program for aerobic ice cream eating? I'd be a champ! Killing threads since 2004.

I'd like to have heard her opinion of sitting through the auditions with the judges. She chimed in with a "you were great" or "really good job" a few times while the other judges were railing on people. Killing threads since 2004.

wow, can't say I ever thought of that one. I'll add that to my list of most uncomfortable things I can imagine. You're right though that they've been playing it up a lot lately. Either that or she decided to start acting drunk all the time to keep the media from talking about her sleeping with contestants and just decided as long as she was acting to go ahead and get blitzed for real! I had a very magic moment a few months before the end of my senior year in college. I had pretty much given up the idea of graduating on time when I had an epiphany and realized how I could work the system, using "their" rules against them to graduate on time. It worked! That's a bathroom break I'll never forget as long as I live! Killing threads since 2004.

Tonight didn't really do much for me, good or bad. I did like Christina's backup singer, seems like he'll be the type to stay out of the drama and just sing. Often that type gets overlooked though. The bad still wasn't quite as bad as the bad in NYC, with all the soap opera acting and pleading to stay. I kinda wanted to slap the little "rock star" that brought her mom back in on her own. WTF! Sherman was a pretty cool dude. I'm glad that let him in to do his thing. I'm still frustrated at only seeing 1/4 of the people that they actually put through!!! Next week it should start getting better as they realize how many people just had a good audition and really shouldn't have made it through! Killing threads since 2004.

Alright - I didn't think I'd be able to join in the fun because I haven't been able to find my freakin' camera cord, but I found it tonight so I'll get some pics sent over. Nothing like a little procrastination to start things off right! I've got plenty to lose, and nothin' to lose by enlisting some extra motivation for losing it! Cheers to everyone else partaking in the joyous act of busting your ass back into shape. Killing threads since 2004.

No kidding. I can't even imagine how releived she must feel, both emotionally and physically. It has to feel good knowing for herself that she was right all along that she was doing what she could and something just wasn't right, and thankful that she found a doc that would realize that and pay attention. Holy crap!!! I saw this on the local news last night and just found it online. There is a picture in the article online. Uber Lounge.com: Taquela Hilton lost 137 pounds in 10 days, but her weight-loss method is not one she would recommend to anybody. Most of the weight was removed through surgery Jan. 10 in the form of a 93-pound ovarian cyst. “This was like having a C-section to deliver a 12-year-old,” said Dr. Jennifer Cameron, Hilton’s primary-care physician at SouthCrest Medical Plaza. “It was a very dangerous situation.” ...“It was a small adult she was carrying around in her. It contained 12 gallons of fluid, and we removed it intact,” Cameron said. “If she had ever gotten into a car accident and the cyst had burst, she would’ve died.” Killing threads since 2004.

Try the Staten Island Ferry too. It goes close enough to get a good view of the statue, you get great views leaving and returning to lower Manhattan, and the best part is that it is FREE! Also, if you happen to be over near the hudson on the west side and need to go up or downtown, check out the water taxi. Sometimes a nice alternative to a regular cab (assuming they are still running - they had just started when I left town). Killing threads since 2004.

My friends have always been happy there. Nothing special, but nothing scary either. Just don't waste your time with the little "cafe" located off the lobby. It gives you great access to the 1/9 and A/C/B/D trains at Columbus Circle or the N at 57th and you can just walk or bus across Central Park South if you want to get over to the east side trains. Pretty good location overall. Killing threads since 2004.

Hey man - I mentioned the YMCA in your other thread, but just remembered this website today. Has a whole list of stuff. Might be too late for this trip, but maybe next time! http://www.ny.com/hotels/budget.html Killing threads since 2004.

Oh, and I didn't get quite as excited about that last guy as Paula, but he totally won me over with his comment that his reason for being there was to make David Hasslehoff cry! He seems like a pretty cool guy that might stick around for a while as a crowd favorite even if he doesn't quite keep up vocally. Killing threads since 2004.

You know who I want to be? I want to be the person sitting just inside the door handing out the yellow tickets. She is witness to everything! I'm sure I'd want to shoot myself by the end of the day, but I'm sure she's got some stories to tell (or sell...)! Killing threads since 2004.

Has anyone tried the "5 hour energy" or whatever it's called? I just saw a few commercials for it tonight on Fox. Didn't see anyone mention it here yet. According to the commercial it's more of a shot, with little or no sugar and only the caffeine of a cup of coffee, so no crash after the energy burst. Killing threads since 2004.

At least for the most part, people given bad news just took it, said thanks and moved on. I got worried with the first girl that tonight was going to be the same soap opera auditions as last week, but it was pretty darn pleasant in comparison. I think it's frustrating to see the quick montage of those moving on and realize that we never saw 3/4 of them. Of course we'll see plenty of them down the road, but it kind of sucks not seeing the good ones in the initial audition. Killing threads since 2004.

I still can't find that in stores here in TX. I first had some when we went to visit fireflytx's parents in PA. I like it

Fucking Texas DMV, how does one fly without an ID
FlyingJ replied to nate_1979's topic in The Bonfire
No shit, I'm in the same boat here. It's been two weeks and nothing yet, hopefully I'll get my new id this week. And holy crap I've never spent so much to register a vehicle before either! New resident fee of $90 added on to the rest of the registration costs? I kind of thought the waiting for the DL to be mailed might have been because I was in a smaller town without the technology, but I guess it's the whole state! I can't remember the last time I had to have an id mailed to me instead of printed onsite. Killing threads since 2004. -
mmmmmmm....better availability of shiner has been one of the best things about moving to Texas! Killing threads since 2004.
