    hey Conundrum nice looking ball python. has it fed yet? be aware that ball pyhtons are notorious for going off food for long periods of time, and can be very picky eaters. i had one that would onlu eat white mice, if the mouse was brown or grey it would refuse to eat it. and live food is fine IMO, just watch carefully as the snake constricts the prey as mice can give very nasty bites to the snake during the constiction process. this can also cause the snake to refuse food. other than that, ball pythons tend to be extremely even tempered snakes...but they will bite, especially if you have been handling their food and they catch the scent on your hands. but their bite is not bad, just like getting pricked by a few dozen needles. have fun with it! As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD...

    thanks piisfish...those were the two DZs i found online. so i guess its a no go on skydiving there . oh well, at least i will be back for my home DZs Halloween Boogie...

    will the DZ/RC.com merger increase both sports? will skydivers be more inclined to try rockclimbing/ rock climbers be more inclined to try skydiving? personally i have done both (well, more rapelling than climbing, enough to own my own harness, smudge shoes, figure eight, and bag of talc with carabineers...used to have rope as well but it gave up the ghost) As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD...

    leaving for Morocco in October and trying to find any DZs that would be open during that time. I have found a couple but they are only open from December to March. anyone know of a DZ that will be open in October in Morocco?? hate to be there and not get a jump in.....     ifrom what i understand, the logbook issue is largely about liability and litigation. if you forge the log and die on the skydive, the DZO can show in court that they at least have a system in place to try to prevent non-current and/or unlicensed people from jumping.     well make sure you DO NOT get the directors cut of Donnie Darko....it SUCKS. the stuf they added is not necessary and they cut out the Tears For Fears song at the beginning. but the theatrical version is awesome. gives you a lot to think about, great story and yeah, i would put it up there with Harold And Maude and Jacob's Ladder.     there is not tension on the rope (wires actually) the entire time. when it is pulled all the way to the top of the tower there is a lot of slack, so when you pull the release (ripcord) you fall straight down until the wires catch and then you swing like a mother. its really a lot of fun. i did one in Destin.     several of our TMs instruct the student on what to do if they (the TM) lose consicouness in freefall for whatever reason. its pretty much a mini-groundschool for opening and flying the parachute as far as the information goes.... As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD...

    too expensive (when you factor in gas prices that is) too far too hot (no A/C in my car for a 9 hour drive) just not comfortable opening at or below 3K gear issues (my slider was too small and the new one didnt get to me until the first day of the WFFC). maybe next year.     yep, rattlers make a LOT of noise, so there is no way to miss what you are dealing with (unless its a pygmy rattler, they sound like a bee buzzing and can be fairly hard to hear). again, i am 95% its a mocassin. As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD...

    NOT a rattlesnake. definitely some type of watersnake, most likely a water mocassin, but the only way to tell for sure is to look at the belly scale pattern directly past the anal vent and extending down to the tip of the tail: scales above the vent look like this: ____ ____ ____ ____ if the scales continue in this type pattern past the anal vent: ___ __ _ _ - it is venomous. if they change after the vent to this pattern: __ )( )( )( )( it is harmless. hope that makes sense. i was a herpetology minor in college. edit to add thanks for not killing it. snakes serve a very useful purpose, even venomous ones. best to just leave them alone if you have no experience handling them (i used to breed eyelash vipers and trust me, you do NOT want to take a bite from ANY venomous snake).
