i am in the same situation as MB38. i am on a Sabre 190 loaded at 1.26 or so with 48 jumps. according to the chart i am about 270 jumps ahead of schedule... at any rate, this is the canopy size that was recommended to me by my instructors. i am in no rush to downsize, but i really like the way my canopy flies so i do not want to go up either (not to mention the cost involved). if this chart was adapted by USPA into the BSRs would it be grandfathered in, or a way to test out so i could continue jumping my canopy? just curious. just to clarify, SK did say that as a horror film, The Shining was one of the best ever, but as an adaptation of his book it sucked. what really sucked was that shitty USA remake, and it was very close to the book. my Sabre 190 used to slam me on just about every jump regardless of how it was packed. finally, it opened so hard it knocked me out for a few seconds, and when i came to i had linetwists out the ass and still spinning up. so, i measured the slider and called PD - the recommended size slider was 26" x 31"....the slider on my rig was 18" x 26". new (correctly sized) slider, only one brisk opening since. and i love the way my Sabre flies and flares. but i am going to go to a Nitron after i have recouped my investment on the Sabre.
