Mortgage interest rates at an all time low...and no one can refinance.

Shah, How much per year are you saving on property taxes with the reduced value of the condo? James -
Is it possible to change handles without a reserve repack?
chutem replied to pguyt's topic in Gear and Rigging
You have 4000 jumps and you suggest a low time jumper wraps tape around his reserve handle? Even if it's a d-ring style handle which I doubt since he said it was red this sounds like a bad idea for a low time jumper. James -

Your ideas would most likely be better received if you did not have such a big stake in this outside of the benefits to the rest of society. I have to wonder if you would think differently of this if you had rented untill the prices went down, bought low with a good interest rate and were listening to someone else suggest the same thing? I'm not sure the idea of enabling folks to free up some money monthly so they can take on more debt is really a good thing. I'm just an uneducated small business owner so it is quite possible I'm being short sighted about this. James -

Obama to release 30 million barrels of oil from petroleum reserve

I'm having trouble deciding between the Chinese model and the one from India. The Chinese company will offer me great financing options. I heard the one from India comes with telephone technical support from guys who claim their name is Bob, Jim or Dave. James -
It's not going to have a hard time. Paul - you have to pee in a cup to get a private pilot's license and there's no challenge for that. This is the same thing. You don't want a pee test then don't apply for the program. Now, if people are gettin arrested for it, that's a different story. The pee in the cup test for a private pilot medical (3rd class) is not a drug screen. It is a blood sugar or other similar test, can't remember for sure at the moment. As to the OP I have no problem with drug testing welfare recipients. These days you need to be able to pee clean to get almost any decent job and these people are supposed to be looking for work. I do worry about children going hungry because Mom peed "dirty". James

I guess the moral of the story is crappy jobs suck. The level of preceived suck varies from individual to individual. It's usually not hard to find someone who has it worse no matter how much you think it sucks. Given two equally qualified applicants I'll hire the one working the crap job with a good attitude over the unemployed one. James

About time the Wisconsin Senate went back to work

Really? I am a federal workers and we have collective bargaining rights and agreements. Are you a memeber of a union or other collective bargaining organization? If so, which one? Politifact reports Obama made a campaign promise to "Restore collective bargaining rights to federal employees." That implies that most fed employees don't have collective bargaining rights. From the same page, "Most federal employees do not have collective bargaining for benefits, nor for pay." is marked as a true statement. So what makes it false as related to your position? (if you don't want to publish your specific position or agency, we will all understand) http://ohmygov.com/blogs/general_news/archive/2009/02/02/a-look-at-federal-employee-unions.aspx Here are some groups that appear to represent fed employees. Should People Without Children Be Given Tax Incentives
chutem replied to Gravitymaster's topic in Speakers Corner
People who don't have children are not providing a future "tax base" for the country. James -
After looking a little farther it appears the immunity is from arrest not prosecution of a crime. So "waiving his immunity" after avoiding arrest is waiving immunity he does not have. James
-
1st I have no agenda and am generally right leaning. 2nd He claimed legislative immunity to avoid arrest and then later laid out the waive immunity statement after it went public. If it was you or I we would have been arrested. As usual the politicians see themselves as above the law. (and it appears in many cases truly are) I didn't think you were ok with this. Spin it however your agenda requires. James

Searched and didn't find this, sorry if it's a repost. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/41803019/ns/us_news-crime_and_courts/ AZ state senate majority leader claims legislative immunity after scuffle with girlfriend, she gets arrested and he walks. What a crock. James edit- Not sure why clicky didn't work, I put the url tabs on either side of it.

the average teacher in WI (they are all union by rule) makes 102k in total compensation they ALL have to pay union dues in WI It is not a right to work state I'm just wondering if they did not have to pay union dues if the savings would cover the increase in healthcare/retirement cost they are possibly facing? Does the new legislation allow for union opt out? James -

I'm finding $700-$1100 per year in union dues through Google search. The other end of the equation seems harder to come up with. James -

I'm curious, what is the difference in pay for a Wisconsan teacher that has to contribute to his/her own health/retirement bennifits if they don't have to pay union dues? Or do union dues equal the additional amount they may be required to pay? James -

When you get to the AZ border feel free to load and holster the pistol. You may then carry it open or concealed or under the seat if you like. If you are moving to the Phoenix area stop on out to Canyon Lake and ask for James at the marina. James -
Picture with two lines on it? I mean it is wierd and a little disturbing for you to reference this - but I don't see how it could be construed as a personal attack. are you saying mnealtx got sand in his mangina!? No - but as much as he and Amazon are "dancing" around he may be preggers now. they'd really make a cute couple! That kid would need lots of therapy. James

Maybe if we start aggresivly prosecuting scumbag politicians they will understand that they are not above the law. James

Carrying minors would still be permitted; so women carrying babies concealed in closed papooses would not face prosecution. Ah, but if you concealed your handgun in the papoose with your legally concealed minor would the minor be in posesion of the handgun?
