Photography class!! What a novel idea Good for you....you'll be way ahead of the curve before you get half way through the class

A piece of 2 or 3 conductor insulated wire, a stereo plug, some solder, a soldering iron, a normally open micro switch, some heat shrink, a multi-meter, and some very basic knowledge of electronics should get you there. Why do you need a hand switch as opposed to a tongue, bite, or blow switch? No matter how it's activated it still just plugs in to the remote port on the camera. Peace, Z Action©Sports

Should I try to replace the internal lens assembly myself?
Zee replied to lewmonst's topic in Photography and Video
Thought you had a degree in Mechanical Engineering? If you can get a passing grade in Three Dimensional Vector Calculus, and you know how to use a small screw driver, I think you have what it takes to slap in a lens assembly Good luck, Z Action©Sports -
Can you explain??? I posted this before in reference to DVD formats.....maybe this can help explain the difference. DVD-R is compatible with more DVD players than +R and that's only logical since DVD-R is the original format. The difference is pretty minimal 93% compatibility for DVD-R and 88% for DVD+R. However, those figures refer to commercially made DVD's which in most cases, are created with much nicer equipment than is commonly found on your home PC or editing station. DVD+R is compatible with the CAV writing technique (Constant Angular Velocity). When burning a disc in CAV mode, the disc maintains a constant rotation speed where as in Zone CLV (Constant Linear Velocity) writing (only method used on DVD-R), the writing of the disc is split into 6 different zones (zones are split from the center and outward on the disc) and each is written at different speeds. When writing is completed for each zone, the writing is suspended momentarily until the disc can reach the new higher rotational speed and then restarted. The recording is then linked to the previous zone using buffer underrun protection. The errors most often occur at the link points between the zones and results in a poorly written disc that many players will not be able to read. The issue isn't necessarily one of compatibility but of quality. Peace Z Action©Sports

I lived in an apartment in Austin,TX once and when I moved out the bastards sent me a bill for $700 which they said was for cleaning and repair. Since I knew there was no damage to the apartment, I just sent them a registered letter stating that they needed to give me an itemized bill listing all the damage and the cost to repair each item - I never heard from them again. I think I'm just gonna buy a house..... Action©Sports

Yeah, it's easy to mess it up A balloon jump is a lot like a B.A.S.E jump - no relative wind to work with on exit. I usually go off backwards and leave standing on my knees with my head facing upwards at a pretty extreme angle. It all depends upon your subject though. The exit has to be timed right so pay attention to the count, and try to leave either a split second before or at the same time. Here's one from last WFFC - I left just a hair too late and we had to go off the wrong side (the sun was at her back) due to the wind direction and the weight shift in the balloon. One thing is for sure - Balloon jumps ROCK Balloon Pic Action©Sports
